Whataburger versus In-N-Out Burger.... I had a wonderful experience last week to have both Whataburger and In-N-Out Burger. So what is better? After dining at both restaurants, I will share my thoughts and my selection, but you should try both and have some fun. I do not live in Texas anymore and thoroughly miss Whataburger. In my travels if there is a Whataburger in the area, I would choose that over most Berger joints. Why? Whataburger flame broiled burger is cooked when you place your order, I found the size of their burger bigger than In-N-Out Burger. Condiments, bun, fries are about the same. Though I did notice the hand cut french fries at In-N-Out are pretty darn good. Where Whataburger definitely makes better onion rings. In-N-Out Burger's are also cooked when you placed your order. Both are juicy and both have good flavor. Both tailor, the burger with condiments that you want, cheese,, onions, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, pickles, you get to pick. I feel that both burgers use a good bun and cook it as you would expect. Juicy and delicious Where I found a difference is that In-N-Out Burger has some catchy Marketing request like an animal burger, so you have to know the secret handshake. Whataburger is a little more traditional. They just make very good hamburgers. If you're looking for ketchy West Coast fu-fu Marketing then enjoy a In-N-Out Burger, you won't be disappointed. However, if you're looking for a better burger in size and flavor, I lean to Whataburger while they are not. " ketchy" you can't go wrong with a Whataburger. Don't forget to order the onion rings they compliment the burger well So my choice... Whataburger wins over In-N-Out Burger. read more

Came by this location last night after getting off work. I was looking forward to eating a little something. But what I ate, was a bit disappointing. I had the new blaze jalapeño double burger. I was looking forward to trying this burger since I love spicy food but it was luke warm when I took my first bite. I was hungry so I had a few more bites (big mistake). I stopped eating not even half way because it just wasn't that good. A couple of hours later, I threw up. Something wasn't feeling right what so ever. I wasn't feeling good. Even my son, who had a "Justaburger" didn't like it either. He's usually a big fan of the burger, pushed it away instantly, I felt the burger and it was also luke warm. The fries was cold as well. I'm always hesitant to review national chains because employees tend to come and go. One day, the place is five stars; a week later they could be a single star. This location, however, after three visits over a multi-month period, deserves praise. First, the service here is polite and efficient. The restaurant has been clean -- inside and out -- when I have patronized it. That's a sign of outstanding management. The food is quintessential Whataburger. Stopped in this location because it was closest to where I was. I had an offer on the app for a couple different things so I took advantage. First, I had a free steakhouse burger with purchase of fries and drink. I haven't had one before so I thought I'd give it a shot. The steakhouse burger is a double meat burger with bacon and steak sauce. The steak sauce was a little overpowering for the burger. But, in their defense, i'm not a huge fan of steak sauce to begin with. I tried it because it was free. I probably will not order it again. However, if you are a fan of steak sauce, you may have a different opinion. The second thing I tried that was also free is iced vanilla coffee. The vanilla flavoring is 3 pumps of vanilla. Average at best on overall flavor. I visited the specific location during peak lunch hour. The management and staff really seem to be on top of their game. Even though there was a steady flow of people, there never seemed to be a huge line or back up of people waiting for orders. Things seem to be flowing smoothly. Kudos to them on taking care of customers. Bottom line - I really like Whataburger. I prefer the patty melt over anything else. I tried new things today just to vary my selections. Typically my husband and I order curbside from Whataburger. This particular location is a hit or miss honestly. Whenever I order breakfast - which is basically the only thing I get from Whataburger - everything is fine. When my husband orders lunch - which is the only thing HE gets from Whataburger - everything is fine. Here's the problem... because he likes lunch, and I like breakfast, we typically get food between 10:30-11 am. The time of day when it's not WAY too early to eat lunch, but they're still serving breakfast too. You see, apparently if you're ordering from both the breakfast AND the regular menu, they have NO idea what to do. My husband's patty melt will be made incorrectly. My breakfast on a bun will not be quite right. No matter how many ketchups you specify you want with your meal, you'll get 0. Your milkshake will have WAY too much of whatever flavor additive making it nearly impossible to drink. My favorite experience was our most recent trip. They didn't give us any ketchup, but we just went on our merry little way. Then I stopped and we checked our food. My husband's food was made perfectly. I opened up my breakfast on a bun. It felt a little thinner than usual. I opened the bun, and what did I find? Just egg and cheese. No sausage. I literally laughed out loud. They even toasted my bread just like I requested... but my breakfast on a bun was only half of a breakfast on a bun. So I drove back over there and they fixed it quickly. I also asked for ketchup which I still didn't get. You win some, you lose some. My suggestion would be to just order from one menu... or go by yourself. It's Whataburger and this is Texas so you know what to expect. Good fast food. This is one of the oldest, most surviving ones in the area so there is that. I remember it from the early 80s! It's survived many other businesses coming and going in its proximity, but it probably does help that it's next to a night club that can draw hungry patrons. I typically go for breakfast if I am running errands in the area for a quick grab and go. No issues at all with service or cleanliness, some room for improvement but this is fast food. Atmosphere is cookie cutter Whataburger with vintage photos of various Whataburger restaurants and the like on the walls with the orange and white colors. Location on NASA Parkway is a strength as it is not far from I-45 or Highway 3, so you can stop by coming or going any direction. I'll continue to drop in as it is convenient. read more

What a disappointment. Went through the drive-thru ordered five burgers. We were the only people in the Drive-Thru but it took forever it even took them forever to get our drinks to us. The train was going by so we figured we can't get back across highway 3 anyways and since we were tagging and having dinner with my elderly dad we just figured well at least our burgers will be super fresh and the fries. NOT This location needs a lot of retraining none of our burgers tasted fresh and the fries were awful. One of the number #2 orders "the double meat" burger was made with two end buns. And the number #1 HAD NO Patty. There was NO MEAT in thE burger now how the heck does that happen. Spaced out not paying attention. We hadn't been to a Whataburger in MANY years. But I use to consider them the best of the franchise burger places. Our burger was good, tasted like Whataburgers used to taste.
