Absolutely ridiculous experience. Waited an entire hour for a burger -- not a big order, not a rush-hour excuse, just pure incompetence. Whataburger is really good. The fries were pretty good. I got a sweet and spicy bacon burger and I loved it. The food looks sloppy but tastes good. I personally think that this is the best fast food place. The wait was like 15 minutes at like 11:30pm. My only problem was the way the food looks. and the wait for how late it was. I feel disgusted after my 3 piece chicken strip meal. Why? It came without the gravy. It's incredible how important a dipping sauce is for this meal; without any sauces every item in here is drier than the Sahara desert. It's drier than Hurts Donut in Katy, and oh guess what they're closed, probably because they couldn't make a product that didn't have the texture of sandpaper. What really angered me is this is the second time this exact location has made this exact same mistake. I had to be sure so I double checked my order and yep, sure enough, gravy was right there. First meal in Texas... My friend, Lisa, and I hadn't had much to eat all day. We caught the red eye between Honolulu and Austin - with a two hour layover in Los Angeles. Both airlines gave us a beverage. Jet Blue provided a few packages of snacks. I drove two and a half hours before we decided to have a restroom break and a meal. We ended up at Whataburger because it's different. We don't have it in Hawaii. Curious, we saw the low review ratings, but dined in anyway. Parking was a breeze and there was no line at the counter - probably because we went between lunch and dinner. Service was ok - not really memorable. When you dine in, they will bring your order to you. They will also offer you spicy or regular ketchup from a tray. The interior was clean and the restroom was convenient. Thank you!!! I ordered the Combo Meal and chose the Mushroom Swiss Burger because I had seen it on a poster on the window. (The power of suggestion works on some people!) It was juicy and flavorful. I could taste the black pepper! My meal also came with Medium Fries and a Medium Drink. Lisa thought that there are better fries elsewhere. Yes, I have had crisper ones. However, I was at the starving point already. Anything tastes good! Lisa also commented that her Junior Burger's patty was on the thin side ... Hmmm... Now that I know what the orange colored "W" stands for, I'm not in a rush to return. If you pay attention to most of the low reviews, they are mostly people who come here after 11pm. That is literally the busiest time for most whataburger restaurants. This is one of the better locations. I come here 4 times a week on average and never have a bad experience. Disregard the low ratings for the late night service. If you're hungry and looking for the best fast food burger joint in Texas, this is the place. Dining in, curbside, take out and drive through are great. As a resident I can confidently say this is the worst excuse for a Whataburger I have ever been to. After many opportunities, this place continues to disappoint. I also noticed a new manager for the Fulshear location, which means the owner needs to work his own location because no one so far knows how to run this place. I have had issues with food before but super duper-holy-mole poor and slow service it not going to cut it. and I hope they properly refunded my order too. I ordered a chicken strips meal and two other meals. When it finally came after about 15 minutes there was no gravy. Went up to the counter to get it and they said they had to make the gravy. Waited an additional ten minutes for the gravy while my family finished their meals. Still no gravy. My husband went up to get gravy again but it still was not made so he asked to return my food as it was now cold and still the order wasnt complete.
