I work at a Raising Cane's in Dallas. Because I know what happens behind the counter, I know the company has a high expectation for food quality. While my service was great and I have never had any issue with the staff, I have had two different times now where the food I was given was past it's freshness and should have been thrown out. The kitchen staff is required to throw away chicken and fries after a certain period so customers receive fresh, made to order food. My fries were not fresh, appeared over-cooked (I did not request them crispy), and had discoloration. Fries, like the chicken, have a specific cook time and visual standard. If discolored or overcooked they should not be used. My sauce was also very warm, and I am unsure if it was because it was recently prepped or left unrefrigerated. Either way it was not pleasant. My chicken was fine but definitely not the freshest either. I of course don't demand the kitchen to cook new food constantly, but they should be aware of the expiration times and quality assurance that Cane's expects. It was not terrible, I never make complaints usually because I understand the fact that we cannot control the size of the bird shipped to us or the price of sauce/lemonade. But the food quality is the reason why I continue to eat Cane's even outside of work. The standard is higher than any other restaurant. I just hope the managers make a point to discuss this issue with their kitchen crew. The location is very new, located near the Kroger that has yet to open and across the high school. The staff on both of my visits were super nice and helpful. My original review was 3 stars Bc our chicken strips were less than an ounce each and I was frustrated with the inconsistency in the amount of food we received at every visit but I liked employees. After leaving the review the owner reached out to try and make it right by offering to replace the meals for free. I didn't take her offer bc I wasn't sure I'd even be back but I did appreciate the offer. A few months passed and I decided I'd give it another try and now several visits later I'm changing my rating to 5 stars. The food has been great and the staff is still excellent! I ordered a Caniac combo that is supposed to come with 6 fingers. The site also says they accept Apple Pay. After having to repeat my order 3 times to the person taking the orders, I drive around and ask "do you accept Apple Pay?" The answer was no. Ok no big deal. I pay and drive to the next window to get my order which was promptly ready. This was great! So I drive home, about 6-7 minutes away. Open the bag and container to find their was only 4 chicken fingers instead of 6. And they were small to begin with. Another problem with Canes. The food was good, but it's very disappointing that simple orders get filled incorrectly. Who's going to take the time to get back in their car and drive back to explain what happened? This seems to be a recurring theme with Cane's at their locations. Next time when/if I do return to this location, I will open the bag and inspect every single item before driving off. There also seems to be a noticeable drop off in the size/quality of the chicken fingers. After all, that is what they sell and if that's deteriorating, what's the incentive to return? 4th time to this location and there are ALWAYS FLIES, MANY MANY FLIES and on that alone I cannot come back. Keep in mind two girls were directly in front of me behind the counter, who both turned around and saw me but were extremely too busy to speak. One was bagging up a platter for pick up for a customer that was not even there, and the other girl was re arranging some of the decorations. There is never a clean table to sit at ,always bread crumbs, flies and spilled drink. I dont think they ever sweep either. Usually my food is out in a decent time but today, I ordered one chicken sandwhich meal which after literally 34 minutes I had to cancel because it was not made yet. I asked the cashier why the wait and she told me "oh you ordered a chicken sandwich? Well that might take a while because we dont make many of those" LOL!! I mean you serve 3 things Canes: chicken, bread and fries. How hard could it be?? Oh and honorable mentions, they charge you something like 20 cent to upgrade from a "regular drink" to their pixie dusted lemonade (which has nothing on chick fil a) AND THEN they charge you each and every time you want a refill. Visited this location and I was disappointed with the customer service. Sharra took my order in the drive thru and she was so rude! When she tried to give me drink I didn't ask for she threw the straw down and slammed the drive-thru window. She should not be working the drive thru!! The only open table was dirty and the food (box combo) took 15 minutes which is long but fairly reasonable I guess.
