I added a little sriracha myself just to give it some extra kick, but the burger was already really good on its own. I was also way too excited to see chili cheese tots on the menu, and they actually gave me chili cheese tots--not some sad fast-food version. The tots were nicely cooked and golden brown, with actual chili and plenty of melted cheese on top. Definitely beats anything you're getting from a fast-food place. I did carryout, so I can't really speak to the atmosphere inside, but based on the food alone, this place delivers. They have their regular menu plus different daily specials, and after these two items I'm genuinely excited to go back and work my way through some of the other burgers and specials. Add a side of "well done" crinkle cut fries, hand battered onion rings, or superior cheese curds and your meal is complete. The waffles were a bit moist at the bottom but it wasn't bad. The Mac and cheese was also an incredible side for this meal. That doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it, just the flavors didn't blend for me. The fries were good, but not great. For being called seasoned fries they really didn't have that good seasoned kick that you'd expect. We did enjoy the chicken strips. I'll look forward to trying some of the other items on the menu. I don't know that it's so good I'll be going a lot, but I do want to try the waffles and some of the other stuff.

I'm so glad I did because it was absolutely delicious! The burger and fries came out fresh and hot, and everything was seasoned perfectly. That's my standard test for any burger joint. Sometimes I'll get fries or tots, but I don't really care for either generally. Today I got a big old Smashburger. The patties were thin crispy and more than ample. Great flavor and sear on the meat. Friendly gal at the front register who allowed me to take my time as I was unfamiliar with the menu. She was very kind. The floor is a little dirty, and it smells kind of funky, which is appropriate for a good burger joint. I will be back. I love a good balance between the ice cream and the mix-ins, and this just felt like there was way too much going on. The toppings completely overpowered the flavor of the ice cream. We decided to give Johnny Ray's another shot and came back to try the food. Sadly, I wasn't impressed. For the price, I honestly felt like I could have made a better meal at home. Nothing stood out, and it just wasn't worth the money in my opinion.
