I gave it a shot to this fast food chain. It's set up like most fast food restaurants. They do have a wife variety of choices. As a starter, I ordered the jalapeño cheese burger combo. The wait time was slightly longer than other fast food places. Which it was below expectation. The combo includes fries which tasted like McDonald's fries; it's not bad since McDonald's has one of the best French fries. The burger itself was huge, the buns were grilled but they tasted but stale and dry. The meat was a bit dry too. The burger itself was subpar. I didn't expect much service nor received any. Overall. Not bad. Not great either, but it'll fill you up. As a tourist, it's one of those things you'll check out because it's regional fast food. The standard burger is kind of bland, flat, and not dressed as well as other fast food joints. Fries and onion rings? Not really my favorite here either. No offense, but I'd rather get a burger and fries from In-n-Out, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr/Hardee's, or Five Guys. Friendly service, reasonably clean dining room, meh food, and Fancy Whataburger ketchup. Hey, sometimes you get that craving. Fine, but I think there's far better options out there. read more

Worst Whataburger drive thru ever! Loooong delays. Ice cold burger! No napkins! No straws. Whatajoke!

So, it's early evening and the traffic is bad with closed off roads on the expressway and nearby streets. I go thru the drive in and order a Whataburger, onion rings and a plain iced tea with no sugar. I say no sugar because many places serve me a sweetened tea. But Whataburger repeated my order and got me the correct unsweetened iced tea. They served me French fries. When I told the young lady who brought my order out, she simply replied, "That's what it says on your order. Do you want to give me your card back and I can..." I told her to tell whoever repeated the correct order needs to put this exact order in and I left. I called the manager, David Ibanez, because not only was my order incorrect the burger was cold. And this was checked on my drive home shortly after I left. Needless to say that I was disappointed! But David Ibanez understood this and offered a new meal whenever I returned with the receipt. I thanked him and look forward to onion rings and a hot burger! :) Thank you, David, for handling this in a positive manner! read more

I've been eating at Whataburger for a number of years now, as it is a staple if you live in Texas, especially South Texas. On this date, I go in and order my regular #1, no onions, no ketchup (as I'm allergic to onions and--if you didn't know--there is onion powder in ketchup.) I receive the meal and assume that people give a crap about their jobs and reading an order and following it. That was my mistake. I take a bite without examining the burger and bite into............an onion. I immediately spit it into a napkin and open it up to find that it not only wasn't made without onions as ordered, but looks as though extras were put on, just to piss me off. The manager is joking with a couple of employees up front and I have to wait about five minutes before anyone gives a crap about why I'm standing there. I let the manager know about the F-up and..................nothing. My meal isn't remade. I'm not offered a refund or (more common sense, a comp on the meal.) Nothing. I leave as hungry as I entered. The best part? I write to corporate with the restaurant number, date, time and order number and receive not so such much as a "drop dead." Nothing. No response. I interpret this to mean that they don't want my business, couldn't have cared less if I ended up at the E.R. after the experience (I was sick for the rest of the day from that little bit of onion I experienced, as I'm THAT allergic to them,) and--I'm guessing--don't care if anyone else ever eats at Whataburger and they end up going out of business. I had to try Whataburger as we don't have them where I live. On our journey south I've also tried out Chick-fil-A, In-n-Out Burger and most recently Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers for the first time. I'd put Whataburger and In-n-Out burger on the same plane. Average at best. Their burgers are fried on a grill which is OK by me, but they aren't grilled at a high enough temperature to create the great caramelized bits that make an exceptional burger. Their toppings are nothing out of the ordinary either. And the fries are just above average. The prices are a bit high for what you get. I paid over $10 for a double bacon cheese burger combo. More than what I paid at Freddy's for a less tasty burger, not to mention Freddy's VASTLY superior fries. As long as Freddy's is in the same area I'll be spending my money there. read more

Never had a problem with Wataburger anywhere. My husband and I both got horrible food poisoning yesterday.

Horrible, horrible service! This is a fast food restaurant but the wait here is nothing but fast. The drive thru wait is the longest I've ever experience for a fast food restaurant. This isn't just for one occasion but multiple. To an extent that I don't even bother coming here anymore. I live 3 minutes from this place and avoid it every time I need fast food. read more

The food on this location in good. The staff is friendly. No complaints other than it does take a while sometimes to get the meal.

You know I love whataburger for best fast food burger and this one was still good but they didn't have my thousand island dressing or spicy ketchup. Maybe just a fluke like forgot to order shipment but didn't give me suggestions. Just said don't have quote and said burgers come with mustard ??? Okay then told us in broken language which I'm not sure I ever did understand something else. Had a huge language barrier and gave up asking her to repeat after 3 times as we both were frustrated. The man in front of us thru his food at window. Road rage ? No burger rage. So I didn't want to make it worse. We waited 16 min in drive thru and there were 2 rows total of 6 cars in front of us. It was 8:30 at night. When I got home my burger was squished.... wondered if mine was one which hit window as was basic burger. But still tasted good and great sweet tea as always. They take forever, and having the staff serve two lanes when it's slow is pointless. It drags the wait time even longer. I ordered 3 biscuits and there were no cars waiting. Still it took a long time. Sometime you wonder if they forget they have clients waiting. This place needs some serious management improvements. read more

Can't go wrong with Whataburger!!! Order myself a #4 with extra grilled onions!! Delicious!!! Order taker was Esmer she was excellent, polite, offered additional items and great smile. She brought food to table and when done she came back to pick up my plate. Now that's 5 star service!!! Great Job!!! read more

Another great Whataburger restaurant. First place we generally dine at when we arrive to Mission Texas. This Whataburger is well managed and will certainly meet or exceed your expectations. I am a regular at this location when I'm in town for the holidays. read more
