My Dad and I stop here every time we do a road trip. They have always been nice and the food is always hot and fresh. Today with the dine in closed they were really busy but as always we still got our food hot and fresh. They were still as friendly as always. read more

I've been eating at whataburger since I was little and this is the first time I've been disgusted at one of their burgers. Very sloppily put together. And the entire burger was very dry like if it had been sitting out for a few hours prior to them serving it. read more

Came here again today for an afterwork meal. It was fresh and hot and very good. I got a double green chili burger with large onion rings and drink. The onion rings came out so fresh and hot that I had to wait to eat them. They needed a little salt but that was no issue. Very tasty with a little spicy ketchup. The burger was hot and delicious with good spicy green chili. I can say that after this meal I was full and happy. read more

Most frustrating drive-thru experience EVER! I understand they make food to order but 55 minutes in the drive-thru is completely unacceptable. For one the girl taking orders was slow and couldn't get the order right which led to yet another delay since they had to fix it. Looks like they closed inside so there were probably 20 cars in line. If inside is closed they should've been a litter more efficient handling the line. Terrible experience read more

This has been my best experience at a restaurant since businesses began to reopen. From the time we walked in till the time we left the staff was attentive, super welcoming and efficient. Order was accurate and very satisfying. Their hiring and training program at this location must be duplicated. read more

Just another overpriced burger joint. Burgers were cold and dry. Spicy ketchup is good. Service was nice however some napkins would of been appriciated since I used the drivethrough! Not very impressed with the food. read more

Terrible service, this place is close to my office and I order breakfast for the drive thru, this is the third time that they missing something in my order, today they didn't put the potatoes on the breakfast platter, missing butter too. I asked the cashier to put butter and it wasn't in my bag. Soooo frustrating. I spoke to the manager two times already. I don't know if they just don't care or they don't have memory. I don't know. Just this is the last time that I'm going to buy something from them. If you can, just avoid this place!!! read more

Went at about 730am, there was a broken bottle of vodka by the front door, the stores floor was pretty dirty, and the bathrooms were horrible. I felt like a robbery was going to occur at any moment. We order 2 taquitos and a breakfast sandwich, the cashier was pretty friendly and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. When we left there was staff cleaning up the glass and other trash, I don't know if we came in after a bad night or what was going on there. There was also quite a few homeless people sitting in the Parking lot. Maybe this is a bad part of town??? read more

I've been here a few times because it has a convenient location, but AWFUL service. Every time I walk in, there are no less than 7 people behind the counter...yes, unfortunately,I had the time to count. Despite all of these employees including a manager in a white shirt, no one knew who should take my order. I watched them talk about who should take my order before the manager told someone to do it. Everyone else stood around talking about who knows what. Once someone managed to take my order (which was like a combo meal--simplest thing ever), I had the joyous experience of watching multiple guys behind the grill talk about who would cook my food and how to make it. Seriously, how to put meat on the grill. I was literally the only customer in the restaurant and no one was in the drive through. 10 minutes later, I got my food. It's tasty, and I love Whataburger, but I'd rather have it without a side of dumb-employee conversations. read more

I love a good Whataburger! University address is my closest one as I can get my burger home in under five minutes to enjoy. Today was extremely disappointing. Twenty-five minutes from order to bag being placed in my hand. Waited around "the corner" from the window with four other cars. I ordered a number two double, but when I bit into it at home a single patty greeted my hunger. Cold fries and cold burger. Hopefully this is a one time occurrence and I will give them another chance. Hopefully general manager can get her crew back on track. read more

Went through the drive-thru yesterday to order 3 meals and a cinnamon bun. They were somewhat busy, so I wasn't surprised when they had me pull over. We were pulled over for quite some time. They would bring food to the cars that were pulled over behind us before our food. That isn't what irritated me, though. What irritated me was that they walked up to me and asked what I ordered. I told them. They checked the orders in their hands and determined none of them was my order. They handed the food to the car behind us. As they walked away, that car stopped them and said it wasn't their food giving it back to them. I watched as the elderly people in the car clawed through the bag with their bare hands. The employee took the bag from them, walked up to my car, and said "here" handing it to me. This is not only alarming considering the current covid environment, it's just disgusting regardless when it is. Nobody wants food that other people clawed through with their nasty hands. While I love Whataburger, I will not be going back to this particular location. Disgusting. read more

Decent food if you're hungry in the middle of the night. Just don't expect fast service, especially at the drive thru.

This was my first experience at a Whataburger which I have been waiting years to try out and was sadly disappointed. I asked for onions rings and got none. The fries which I imagine would have been good, if fresh, other than the fact they werent what i asked for were cold and stale. Wasn't asked until after I paid if I wanted any additional sauces. I asked for ranch for said missing onion rings and was THEN told I had to pay each for it when I had already paid with a card. What a waste of time and lack of common courtesy. Then I was asked to pull forward and wait for my order. This was originally OK with as I thought I was waiting on fresh onion rings. Not cold stale fries... and to top everything off, I was charged for those missing onion rings! I got no napkins, and my daughter ordered a bunless burger and didn't even get a fork. I hate to have one bad first experience with something I waited so long to try ruin everything for me in a company and will probably give them another chance in a different location. So I don't get Whataburgers in San Diego, and I pretty much don't eat there anyway. Mainly I am writing this for their Diabetes-In-A-Cup. Just like the Europeans call a Quarter-Pounder with cheese a Royal with cheese, Whataburger calls these Mammoth Marvels of Diabetes Millitus simply by the more common term: "shake". I see commercials for there food all the time, bet let me be the first to inform you (as if you probably could already guess) this place is definitely not Herbivore Friendly. Ironically enough one of their sayings is, "since 1950: There's one near YOU" - living in San Diego all my life, i never managed to cross paths with one. Their food is simple, from what I hear, but all I am interesting in is a 32oz MEDIUM milkshake - hence "Diabetes in a Cup". Recommendation: a 20oz SMALL chocolate shake, have your insulin ready (remember a Venti at Starbucks is 20oz and that's their largest size). Simple and dangerous, delicious, pace yourself. read more

So I kept seeing this place and had to try it. Nothing special. I was avoiding eating Fast Food on this trip but decided to go for ones I never heard of. Average typical Fast Food Burger. Not terrible but not great either. Seemed too pricy for a Burger with no cheese. I added Green Chilis but couldn't taste them at all because of the small amount. Customer service was horrible to say the least. We were given COLD coffee as well as COLD food. We walked in for a 21 minute wait. It was 9:09 when our order was placed. There was no one in front of us when we ordered nor was there anyone waiting for an order. There is so many issues I had during this take out experience. I do not trust this establishment. As they lied to me about the coffee being fresh after I had poured it over my hand. They obviously can not handle food or beverages well. I am sad for anyone who has an experience that was any thing like my families. The last time I will ever be to this location. I give one star cause I can't give 0.
