I found it there.my meal was " slap yo mama down good " The The sides were great and very well seasoned. Although a little salty for me. They have such an extensive menu. I will try jerk chicken the next time. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The food took a little bit longer to prepare, but that's because it was not fast food and was very well presented when it came out. Although the indoor seating was limited, it was accommodating and everything appeared very clean. The air conditioning was comfortable and not freezing cold. The oxtail with rice was incredible, fork tender. I was able to remove all the meat with a fork and knife. The gravy was very flavorful and I have not had potato salad this tasty before. 10/10 experience on our short visit through town. This is exceptional BBQ at extremely reasonable prices. The 2-meat platter with two sides was $26...are you kidding me? Where can you find great bbq at that price anywhere? The ribs were stunningly good, the jerk chicken loaded with spices and smoky flavor, and the curds were addicting as hell despite my affinity for batter and not breading. We wanted to try just about everything on the menu, which is extensive. There are daily specials to go along with their great options. From the moment we arrived, there was a steady flow of people coming and going. We chose to eat inside since it was hot outside, but the patio area looked nice and even had mist sprinklers to keep diners cool. Finally, let me just say that I don't often leave reviews for places I haven't tried multiple times. Mostly for an objective review, but I'm confident I'd get the same great experience each visit. Food was good. Rated to four stars for prices. Meat prices in general are high right now, but.... What was $15 a year ago is now $18. What was $20 a year ago, is now $24. Not super outrageous, I've seen worse, but enough to drop a star. The porportions of some items were a bit sparse as well. So the burger was ok. The brisket was ok. The macaroni was good. But the jerk chicken was excellent! The fries were excellent! - nice a crispy with good seasoning. It had a good smokey flavor to it. I got the veggies as a side, and it was a good variety of veggies; corn, zucchini, green beans, carrots, broccoli, peas, and a tiny bit of cauliflower. There was also either yellow carrots or new potatoes, I couldn't figure out which cus all the veggies together tasted the same, lol. But I was glad for the variety. Could've added some green chile in there and maybe that would've pushed my four stars to five :D People were friendly, and although it took a little while, it was worth it. This is a spot for takeout. You have to order on a screen while workers stand right there watching -- that alone was a little awkward. The whole experience felt chaotic. After 25 minutes, they still didn't seem to know who ordered what. We had planned to dine in, but once we saw everything served in plastic and styrofoam, we decided to take it back to our Airbnb. Once we finally ate, the seasoning was decent, but the BBQ was lackluster and the jerk chicken, while smoked, didn't have the bold jerk flavor you'd expect. The portions were good, though. For context, we ordered a drink, a jerk sandwich combo, and a 2-plate combo, which came to $55 after tip. Honestly, I was underwhelmed. It's Black-owned, and I respect that they're trying, which is why I gave it 3 stars. But they really need to fix their kiosk setup and clearly communicate when wait times are 20-30 minutes. On a road trip and this place came up on the map around the corner from the hotel. I saw that they had jerk chicken so I had to try it. My wife saw brisket on the menu and was sold. She had a brisket baked potato that was fully loaded. She loved it. I ordered the 2 meat plate with jerk chicken and pulled pork. The chicken was outstanding. The pulled pork tasted greT and had a bit of a kick to it. The sides also had plenty of spice and flavor. The man and cheese was great and I was down with the collard greens, until I accidentally inhaled a pepper up my nose. That cleared the sinuses and about had me choke. Plenty of spice! What was cool is that they had home made red Kool aid which I mixed with Mountain Dew to get some extra pizazz. The staff were great and the owner had great options to choose from. We tried this place for the first time as I was looking for Dino Ribs (beef BBQ ribs) in the area. We come down to visit once a year, and I was looking for something closer than El Paso or Anthony for good beef ribs. Dino Ribs are only available on the weekend until they sell out. $35 per pound; my rib with two sides came to $54. That isn't unexpected for a Dino, I'm fine with the price. While the rib had great flavor and bark, it was rather tough, so I'd suggest you pass on this. On the other hand, the Brisket was outstanding! Moist, tender, nice bark and smoke ring. It might have been the Point rather than the Flat (my preference for Brisket), wherever it came from, it was excellent. The pork ribs had great flavor but were a bit tough. I'm not expecting fall-off-the-bone meat (in fact, some BBQ judges will deduct points for the meat if it's too tender). But the two versions of ribs, while very flavorful, needed more time to tenderize. The sides are excellent! The beans are very good, and the garlic parmesan fries are absolutely delicious. We had the mixed veggies, and they were also superb. Portions are generious. It took over 40 minutes to get our order out. The owner was very kind and brought us some cheese curds to nibble on while we ate. The cheese curds were very good, too. We were able to sit outside with our three dogs. I would come back, especially for Brisket, and would love to try the chicken. Overall, very good if you avoid the ribs. read more

The food was delicious--like a really great home-cooked meal. We got the brisket plate with garlic parm fries and vegetables, and the teriyaki salmon, and everything was flavorful and well done. We are giving it 4 stars mainly because indoor seating is very limited (only four tables), and the walk to the bathroom isn't the cleanest-looking. There's a partitioned-off back area along that walk that looks a bit rough, but it's actually space they could use to expand and add more seating in the future. That said, there's also a patio outside with additional seating, which helps. Service was friendly and fast, even though they were very busy when we went. The chicken was dry and rubbery and definitely not on the same level in taste. I definitely would not know this is jerk chicken if I didn't order it myself, because it doesn't even taste like it. Wonderful Southern food, big menu with lots of variety. I had teriyaki salmon bowl, which had rice and lots of vegetables. Yummy! Easily 2 meals for me. Hubby had a pulled pork sandwich that was huge, the pork was tender and lean. His came with perfect onion rings and a drink. We split a side of mac and cheese. So good! I've visited this place a few times since they opened and it's good most of the time but sometimes the experience is really disappointing. If they're busy (and they usually are) you can expect to wait a minimum of 30-40 minutes for your order to be ready. I like to call ahead and place my order for pickup but sometimes the staff are too busy to answer the phone. I try to get something different every time I visit but it's a big menu for a small kitchen which in my opinion, contributes to the long wait times. My favorite items to get are the burgers and so far, I haven't had a bad burger here. The smashburgers are great and one of these days I'll try the Cowboy Burger, if I can convince myself that it's worth the $20 price tag. My only gripe about the burgers is that the fillings (lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle, etc) are separated so you have to shovel them onto the burger yourself. I like the jerk chicken but the portions are on the smaller side. The sandwich has a little bit of meat and a couple slices of pickle and onion. The burrito is supposed to include cheese, onions, tomato, guacamole, and sour cream but there's no guacamole and instead they stuff the burrito with rice (which isn't indicated on the menu). The nachos aren't very good because the restaurant uses bad chips. It's like they only use hard, stale chips with half of them already smashed. The price varies depending on your choice of meat (or lack thereof) but if you want your nachos "fully loaded" its an extra $2-3 and it seems like the extra toppings also depend on the kind of nachos you ordered. I've had several and somewhat random variations of toppings including jalapenos, extra cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, guacamole, hot sauce, bbq sauce, and onions. All of the appetizers are deep fried but the restaurant either uses way too much batter or hardly any because I've had pieces that are mostly batter and others where the batter pretty much fell off in the deep fry. There are discrepancies between the online menu on their website and the online ordering menu through Clover (their ordering service). The website menu has a more accurate list of items but the Clover menu is more accurate regarding the current prices. The Clover menu doesn't include everything the restaurant offers. This place seems to have a revolving door of employees because every time I'm here I see a completely different crew of people. The owner is usually around and he can be the friendliest guy at times but sometimes he has absolutely no patience for anyone. Be warned, if you have a complaint or say anything negative within earshot of the owner, he might come over to your table and start arguing with you. One time an employee asked about my order on my behalf (although I didn't ask her to check on it) and the owner poked his head out and practically yelled at me that it's coming and I need to be patient because "good food takes a while." The brisket, ribs, and pulled pork were all grilled but nothing smoked. The ribs were good but the brisket and pulled pork were nothing special. After spending a couple of hours at the Farmer's Market, we stopped at Smokey Sensations for lunch. I had the double Smash Burger with onion rings and my wife had the Smash Burger salad. Both of our meals were good. I have had better onion rings in town. The interior seems to be a lot brighter and cleaner than it was when it was Day's Burgers. Service was outstanding. Went to the new location on Missouri street for lunch for first time yesterday. Immediately upon getting out of the car we were overwhelmed by the incredibly delicious smell of hamburgers being cooked on charcoal in the parking lot. There is nothing better than hamburgers cooked over charcoal but we went to try the barbecue this time. I got the Korean beef short ribs and my husband got the beef brisket. For sides we got the collard greens, Parmesan fries, potato salad, and baked beans. The meat was excellent. I love beef ribs and these were cut across the bone and still had the delicious fat attached. If you don't like fat don't order these but for those of you that love authentically prepared beef ribs these are fantastic. The beef brisket was wonderfully smoked and these meat sliced across the grain as it should be. The sides were excellent especially the potato salad, collards, and Parmesan fries.
