I'll be honest. The main reason I stopped here is because of an article I read. Saying that Whataburger paid over 90 million to employees for working during the pandemic and winter storms in a time when many corporations take their employees for granted it was refreshing to read this article. So because of what they did for some of the employees I decided to stop in and pick up breakfast. I purchased the pancakes with scrambled eggs. To my surprise the pancakes were actually really good and the scrambled eggs were okay also. What really impressed me about this location was the staff. They were friendly, efficient, fast and the food I ordered was really good. I don't know who the manager who was working on this particular day. But the crew that was working worked as a well-oiled machine. I will make it a point to come back to this location in the future. More because of the staff, then the food in all honesty. read more

They made the fries fresh, hot, and crispy and my husband's redone burger was delicious (his words or something along that line lol)!! I'm from Illinois and we don't have Whataburgers there so this was my first visit. First thought was that it was very busy and not real tidy inside. There was trash and wrappers all over the counter by the soda fountain area. I could attribute this to them being busy and not able to clean that area yet. Very impressed with the size of the burgers. Definitely better than other fast food options. Food was pretty good overall. I am a huge fan of ketchup so I didn't like how they only had packets. However they have a spicy ketchup and a fancy ketchup to choose from. Overall I would try Whataburger again over Burger King or McDonald's. read more

Although I have frequented this Whataburger since we moved here 5 years ago, this location has steadily gone downhill in service and attitude. So much so that I decided to actually write a review today. When I ordered a potato, egg, and cheese taquito (a menu staple in the mornings), the person was shocked at first that I did not want any meat. After I was at the window paying, I asked the young woman for picante for my taquito. After a very long wait, she came back with my order which was of course missing the picante. When I asked her if I may please get some picante, she closed the window, and came back with three packets of honey. I looked at her and said, may I please have some picante? She told me "That's what that is", to which I corrected her nicely and said "No, this is honey. May I please have some picante?". She attempted to ask me "What's that?", and I said "Picante, like Hot Sauce". She said "We don't have that.".... Not only was she misinformed and obviously either not trained or not intelligent enough to comprehend her training, but she had absolutely zero customer service ability, which is the wrong place for a person who is attempting to work the drive through window. To top it all off, when I arrived at work and began to eat my taquito, it was missing the Potato. Unbelievable. It isn't that hard. read more

I haven't eaten whataburger since I moved from Florida to Mississippi 10 years ago bc we don't have any near me. Well it was worth the wait!! Talk about good! I just got a whataburger jr dbl meal, nothing special, but it was delicious! Food was piping hot and fresh! Made EXACTLY the special way I ordered it, only pickles and ketchup,(something you won't get at McDonald's). Fries so hot they were burning my leg through the bag! My only complaint was it took about 5 min in the drive thru and that's not really a complaint bc I'd rather wait 5 min for food made hot, fresh and the way I ordered it than get in and out in 1 min with something slapped together and not made the way I asked bc that just takes more time to go back and have them remake it. read more

I don't know where to begin. Multiple wrong orders at the same time, no ice in drinks at the drive-thru, and bad attitudes would describe this location perfectly for the last several months. They are also SLOOOOOW. Plan on 30 minutes for "fast food" that is not your order, and when you send 3-4 items back, they get pissy. This is not a one-time experience either. This location on University Blvd. (182) in Lafayette, La. has gone down hill faster than an avalanche. Management needs to step in quickly and hire workers who are somewhat competent with decent customer service skills. read more

Great burgers on the go. I've been a fan of Whataburger for some time so was delighted to see it amongst the other chains when scooting from Lafayette to Lake Charles on business. Service was carried out in the usual way at a drive through with a person who knows she's in a dead end job. But, it was not an unpleasant experience and I got just what I asked for in very quick time so no complaints. I stuck with the basic Whataburger with cheese added, fully dressed. A side of onion rings as well. I knew that ordering such a big messy burger to eat while driving down the interstate was a big risk but I wanted that burger so took the risk. Glad I did because, mess though it was, it was so much better than other burger options at that same interstate exchange. Onion rings were fair, Jack in the Box has the best, by the way. But, for the price and for the quick service, I'd definitely go back to this or any Whataburger when only a burger will do. read more
