The last time I came to the Whataburger in La Grange I swore I would never come back. I made the mistake today of coming back. I ordered online but they have no signs out front for mobile order pick up. They will not let you drive through as an option. The parking lot is very hard to get in and out of and I ended up finding a spot and having to go inside and wait for my mobile order. I won't be back. Update: I got so tired of waiting for my order that I did not realize they never gave me my drink. I had to go back inside and wait for that. I've given Whataburger multiple chances, and unfortunately it's consistently disappointing. The food is often cold by the time it's served, the service is slow and unfriendly, and my order is rarely correct the first time. On top of that, the overall atmosphere just isn't welcoming. 15 minutes is a long time to wait for a #7. Burger was good. Fries were a bit soggy. The parking lot was like a game of Tetris.

I'm not the kind of person who likes to complain, but this time they really pushed my patience. After waiting 40 minutes for a kids' menu -- nuggets and fries only -- I got up to ask, and they had given my food to someone else. Fine, mistakes happen. But what really made me angry is that they didn't even say "I'm sorry, we'll get it ready right away." Only 2 already waiting customers in front of me at counter. Placed and paid for my order, waited 15 minutes to get a single order for myself. In the meantime, I counted 12 people standing around not doing anything. The only person working was a guy that was repairing the coffee machine This has got to be one of the worst Whataburger's there is for customer service wise. Filled out the complaint on the receipt and to date which has been over a week, Whataburger has not contacted me as I requested. This location is near monument hill state park. Drive thru and dine in. I recommend the Whataburger jr with grilled jalapeños for starters who have never had Whataburger before. Order ahead in the app for quicker service. Very clean and organized condiment/ drink station. read more

This place would serve you roaches if it weren't illegal. I had come back a few times and the food had been getting a little better then bam everything that could go wrong did. I have gotten cold hard stale fries a burger so salty you could hear it crunch when you bit into it as well as another burger that was still raw in the middle.. They repeat your order to you then when you get it half is wrong and the new bunch working there gets an attitude when you ask them to remake it like it's printed on the receipt. They keep saying my apology that's it's the new hires that are in training. No sir No mam it's not the young folks there saving money to go to college or pay their car notes it's you the new management that is the problem. Isiah and Brandon are the only 2 people there that seem to try and make things right when I've had an issue or when other customers come with a complaint. Side note your bathroom is also sickening at times with urine all over the floor by the urinal and no paper in the dispenser. read more

Nothing terribly good or bad about them. I did ask for no onions on my burger and ended up getting a couple which might have been stuck to the tomatoes and I did get some spillage out of the burger while I was driving but then I'm like a 6 year old when I eat and drive. The bathroom also could have been cleaner. I'm guessing most people who come here are passing through and this is a familiar place they can stop at and for that it'll get the job done. I stopped here because I was on my way to Austin and they are super easy to get to when heading north on 71 and I needed to stretch my legs and make a pitstop and I was back on my way. I did see some locals there as well including a mother telling her daughter to not dare to chew the ice in her drink after what the dentist had told her earlier that day so I got a kick out of that. It's a very small Whataburger, so don't expect much in the way of seating or ambience. I find that odd since it's the first fast food place you'll come upon in LaGrange heading toward Austin. You'd think they had grander plans for busloads like many such Whataburgers do. Their food is just fine, traditional Whataburger. However, their service is pathetically slow inside and out, even for Whataburger. It's not for a shortage of staff, either. They run two drive through lanes here. The only thing that's fast here are the self-serve drinks since the hand you the cup right away. P.S. If you're male, I wouldn't rely on this restaurant as a pit stop. The men's restroom is a one-holer with a door lock. The women's restroom has no lock, so there's obviously more than one hole. I claim gender discrimination. read more

I went thru drive in to order.waited 10 minutes in line before I ordered! one hamburger and one jalapeño burger With fries and drink I had to wait again about 10 minutes to get from where I ordered to where I paid. I enjoy the food from Whataburger but I don't go often because of the customer service. Two times in the past month, I placed curbside orders (one meal). Both times, I waited 15 minutes after checking in and then had to go inside to get my own food. There was substantial staff inside and my food was sitting on the counter. Always very slow & constantly ask you to pull forward not allowing you to leave if the wait grows excessively long. Just make people orders & get them back on the road. I ordered thru the app for a curbside pickup. Arrived at 12: 26 and checked in. Called them at 12:45 and asked if they were running behind. Nothing wrong with this place. Me and my team went here as it was the only place around besides Hank's Express. At first GPS led us to a tree beside the interstate. We pulled over, but alas when we asked the tree for burgers it just ignored us. Asked to see a manager, but it still ignored us. Finally we found the actual location (tree was just a poser). Employees were nice and food was good. However, the place was really dirty with trash everywhere and you can tell they do not clean very often, if ever. There was no soap in the restrooms the whole time we were there, so nobody washes their hands apparently. Employees were nice but most of them were hanging around talking/laughing instead of working. Recently, Friday Feb 12, I traveled to Austin and as is my habit stopped for lunch and to stretch my legs. Most of the time I stop in La Grange or Columbus along Highway 71 as I did this time too. Got to the La Grange Whataburger around 2:30 PM and ordered the #2 Combo-meal. The food came out quickly, but I soon found out why. While the french fries were hot the burger was not. In fact, the meat was dry and at best lukewarm. I suspect the meat had been sitting around in a warmer or under a heat lamp and not cooked fresh as most who frequent Whataburger would expect. The next time I have the inclination to stop in La Grange for lunch I may explore the old business 71 route thru town. Years ago I really liked stopping at the Dairy Maid in town, but not sure it is still there. At any rate, I will not be stopping at the Whataburger. I also stopped at the Columbus Whataburger on the way back on Sunday Feb. 14 which I am going to write a review for them next. read more

Never again. I would go hungry before I came back. Specific facts: the interior of the restaurant was dirty (trash on the floor, tables not cleaned, food in the seats), there was no soap in the men's bathroom, there was an employee sitting in the dining area watching loud music videos on his phone (I couldn't even carry on a conversation with the person sitting with me). Oct.4th after a long hot day shopping in Warrenton, my daughter and I stopped at this location on our way back to San Marcos. Clean, food prepared to our specific requests. All as expected of a chain we frequent. What prompted me to post was how we were blown away by the friendly courteous staff. I think all but ones in back or those working the busy drive through made a point to welcome us, stop by our table to inquire if order was okay, if we needed anything else. And they were busy as many Warrenton shoppers were arriving... obviously not what we have come to expect in food service. We were impressed and learned this location is family owned. People will sound off bad experiences, we just wanted to applaud the employees, management, owners. We will be back in the Spring market days, and Whataburger visit again! Thank you. read more

I love most Whataburgers. This location has exceptional service. The greeting I got was above average and put me in a great mood. The GM talked to me about some coupons I could use in my elementary school library for free kids meals. I've never gotten an introduction from a GM but Marty went out of his way today. :) The restaurant was clean, organized and everyone seemed very happy. The people coming in we're all greeted happily. Most employees have permanent scowls and a bit rude but food is always good. The drinks are terrible, very acidic like PH of diluted vinegar or not sweetened not consistent terribleness. This Whataburger still has not updated to electronic order system the employees have to yell each order to cooks. The meals and fries are perfect most of the time. read more
