Referencing the location at 905 N Loop W, Houston, TX 77008. On August 28, 2025, at about 6:04 a.m. (four minutes after the posted 6:00 a.m. opening), I entered through the unlocked dining-room door. Inside, I saw a woman in a blue shirt (Aleshia) taking drive-through orders, two cooks in the back, and an employee sitting in the lobby who appeared to be off the clock. After a brief wait at the counter, Aleshia finished the drive-through order, looked at me, and asked, "How did you get in?" Before I could answer, she repeated, louder, "How did you get in?!" The lobby employee interjected that the door was open. Aleshia then told me, "We're not open. You have to leave." Drive thru didn't know they offer hot coffee but someone promoted him they do , he was so confused about everything , I ordered a medium coffee medium fries and an apple pie. The guy was continuously being promoted by so done in the back , I had to repeat my order 3 times, eventually made it to the window and was given barely warm decaf stale coffee, was told they never gave sugar, and he completely forgot to give me creamers which I had asked. I received the worst service imaginable when I made the mistake of coming here last night. I go to the drive through and order my food. The person taking my order seems like she's barely paying attention as I can hear her laughing and having a conversation. To the surprise of no one, my order isn't even close to correct when I get to the window. I tell them about this, and they ask me to pull forward so they can make it right. About 20 minutes pass and I get sick of waiting in my car, so I go inside to se what's going on. I stand in the front for about 15 minutes before I realize that nobody's going to say anything to me. There are about 5 other people standing up front with me and nobody is being addressed by any of the employees, of which there were plenty. I finally flag down somebody and tell them what I'm waiting on. They say they will take care of it. After waiting about 10 more minutes, my patience completely ran out and I just walked out. That's right, I didn't even get the food I paid for. I decided that my sanity was worth more than whatever cold food they were going to give me anyway. To say I will never be back to this location is an understatement: I will make it my life's mission to ensure nobody has such a frustrating waste of time and money with some of the most hostile employees I've ever encountered. All I can say is if you're having a bad day, don't be the greeter! I'm really disappointed to have to Yelp this negativity about this what a burger because it was my favorite one for the longest. I think I even yelped about it before positively. I asked for an extra hash brown. I received three she charged me for two one came with the order apparently because I got three altogether so the sista was just having a bad day all the way around. What kicked it off (as far as I know) is I asked for a darn cup holder. What did I do that for. When I gave her the card, she never responded so when she gave the card back to me, I asked again. Could I have a cupholder? she replies I heard you. I'm like well. You didn't acknowledge it so how else was I supposed to know you heard me. She closed the window then opens it up back again to give me a bag with the cupholder in it and my coffee (instead of just handing me the darn cup holder with my coffee in it) so you can just imagine what that was like.. yes, in a bag, over-sized cup holder spells disaster. I don't know if cupholders come in different sizes, but this was not a snug fit. What did I do wrong today besides wake up early to run errands and decide to go to my favorite Whataburger and get breakfast that's all and lo and behold. I have eaten at Whataburger since I was a kid in San Antonio, and this particular Texas family operated restaurant is on par with others that I have eaten at...here I have found that there is consistently good food. My wife's meal and mine came out freshly cooked, both the burgers, fries, and onion rings. This is a Texas institution, long surviving, and always a good location for a quick meal. I have found that they are very consistent. The burgers come out just as ordered, and they are always good...not as good as a Lankford's, but always freshly cooked and tasty. This is the Whataburger where I ate after celebrating the greatest moment in Texas history - game 5 of the 2017 World Series. I can't ever say anything bad about this place. I was sliding across the filthy floors to the urine/feces smeared bathroom and I couldn't help but think of how the Dodgers blew both a 4 and 3 run lead that night. As I proceeded to order my delicious bacon cheeseburger, I noticed a mop and bucket on the floor to clean the most disgusting floors I've seen in a public building in Houston. Unfortunately, when we left the bucket was gone and the floor was horrible. But fortunately not as horrible as Clayton Kershaw in game 5. As I went to get my drink, I noticed that a few of the soft drinks choices weren't available. But the memory of our first World Series in Texas still tasted sweeter than my 64 oz. Powerade Mountain Berry Blast which doesn't go well with hamburgers and fries but is loaded with electrolytes which you need in our absolutely horrible Houston weather. As I noted in my last review, the behavior of this Whataburger is going to wear off on its Chick Fil A neighbor. I saw a sign posted outside CFA that said they are now serving mixed drinks, so I'm sure they will be converted to a Hooters by summer. Not a good Hooters, but one with really fat girls. But I digress. Embrace the grit at Whataburger. It is worth the memory of watching Derek Fisher cross the plate in our walkoff win against the Dodgers knocking the Battle of San Jacinto to a distant second on Texas' all time greatest days.
