The food came out fresh but the first order came out about 8 minutes ahead. As busy as they were for the dinner rush with the drive though, the staff were very friendly and the brownie was very chocolaty but not fudgey. Overall it was a good first experience.

Nothing special or over the top. No wow factor or anything unique. Perhaps, back in the days when you look at the old 1950's and 60's pictures in the resturant, the burgers were possibly made with a focus on quality, taste, tendernes and care. It was a good one time experiance- but I don't think I will ever buy burgers here again. (Unless, I am really hungry and there is no another place close by) The American Burger is an all time classic and favorite- it can not be watered down, can't lack quality meat, can not lack flavor and cannot be drownded in condiments. If you make the burger like some asssembly line- with mundane factory instructions- just putting it all together doesn't make a delicious burger. Perhaps Whataburger- needs to search back and return back to old fashion- good old burger buliding.

    No explosion needed.

First time going to a whataburger. Heard good things about if for years but never was in an area where they are located until our trip to Houston. I had a double cheeseburger meal (fries and a drink). The hamburger was big and came with a lot of onions. The more the better. I am now a fan! I really liked it and understand the hype. The staff was really friendly and they got us our food fairly quickly for a larger order. If I am back in Houston I will go out of my way to go again. The only slight concern was they were so busy they couldn't keep up with wiping the tables and chairs down otherwise a great visit. My opinion, pretty darn good.

Not sure if y'all are aware but if the sprite is coming out like water then it's not good thanks letting me get a large a nearly choke on what y'all called a sprite it taste like straight seltzer this is the first time this happened either. Run my refund I don't care if it's $2 at least give me what I ordered.

My order: 5 piece spicy with Laynes sauce and ranch it ran about $14 for the meal. Chicken- very fresh they were definitely made to order for us. Very crunchy and juicy. Seasoning/Spice level- wasn't too spicy. More on the mild heat. I'm very sensitive to salty food these were highly salty. That was my only critique bc other than that they were delicious. They are also real tenders unlike canes which seem to be strips of chicken breast. Laynes sauce was decent. I tasted the black pepper. Paprika and definitely celery salt in there. Those note were very up front. The ranch was just ranch lol. The meal came with fries and some Texas toast. They also have shakes that's looked good but didn't try one this time. Now the story: Ok wow this place was an eye opener and had me highly curious my friend said u got to try Layne's chicken I'm like I had canes before. He said no Laynes. I'm like I never heard of that before. So we went since it sparked my interest we went and on the ride there I was wondering what came first? A new "chicken or the egg?" Thing. Lol. So I looked it up on AI and sure enough Laynes was in 94 and originated in college station TX. And canes. In 96 in NOLA. As we pull up to this location on 132 E Airtex Dr. you would never believe what was right next to this place. Yessss A Mother flipping Canes lol. I'm like are we on a batttle ground right now. lol. They literally have the same menu. And are neighbors. So now it was even more of a question which one is better? So it you are trying to decide: LAYNES - actual chicken tenters. Crunchy. Juicy. Way more flavor. Even though highly salty. Maybe it was just the spicy ones. I don't try the regular tenders. The do offer shakes here as well looked good but didn't try them. Always a plus for some shakes. Laynes is definitely a place to go to. Canes, Who's ur daddy? The answer to that is Laynes lol

Let me start off by saying I use to go to the original Layne's in College Station a few years back…read morewhen my daughter was at Texas A&M and it was one block from her apt. The chicken fingers were a lot larger and I think hand battered, but definitely made to order. With that said all chicken finger/tender places (Cane's and Zaxby's) all went to way smaller size fingers/tenders around Covid time. That is my only complaint is the size of the fingers/tenders. Not sure if Layne's still hand batters or if they now use pre battered frozen product. Couldn't tell by looks. Size went down and price went up lol...3 piece spicy is what I ordered and $9.49 Hot and tasted great, good spice and I got the jalapeño ranch sauce..nice kick and sauce was great. Place is brand new and looks fresh and modern and clean. I will return but on a day that I am really hungry I'll have to order the 4 piece but at $11.40 it's pretty high.

So I'm here for a last minute/late night ( Midnight snack) as my family and I would say... I was scrolling earlier and realized some of my welcome deals were expiring tonight! Luckily they are open until 3:00 a.m. and accept online orders until about 2:45 a.m. The App is user friendly, my order was ready ASAP, the employee that took my name & handed me my order was friendly, professional & accommodating. I requested a complimentary water ( ice only) cup & he was like sureee, no problem! :-) Sooo in BIG BACK ENERGY style... I've pulled over at this Shell gas station that's in the same buisness area with Checkers & a place called ( Golden Chick). I tried some fries first ( absolutely yummy), I checked out my Big Buford burger that I customized & my BBQ Bacon Buford burger and everything looked exactly as I ordered! I'm eating one now saving the other for later-lol. So I had to bite into the BBQ Bacon Buford burger and it did not disappoint!!! I think it's a good size, delicious & worth the price ( well especially when you use the buy one /get one offer)- Thanks Checkers! I absolutely loveee honey mustard sauces in general so I ordered 1 to try out with my fries.... so yes y'all should try it! 5 stars in my humble opinion... of course I am kinda low key HUNGRY at the moment but it's soooo good! Oh and shout out to them for giving customers napkins without us having to request some like I experienced at other food chains. Last but not least, the attached receipts come with a "Tell us how we are doing" survey type deal where you get a coupon for a FREE SANDWICH with purchase of a LARGE DRINK. The deals keep happening and we love FREE, especially in this economy these days. I will be doing the survey for another day. Ok Yelp says my review is looking pretty EPIC! lol... in other words( longggg) so I'm gonna wrap it up! Stay Safe everyone & Blessings to you & yours!

Their Chocolate shake wasn't too bad, but also didn't taste any different from shakes I had in the past, nor was my friend's burger, which I took a bite of, anything spectacular either. I felt a little ballsy and ordered an item from the secret menu: Animal-Styled fries, which consisted of American-melted cheese, grilled onions, and Thousand Island sauce. While the toppings sounded appealing, I was extremely let down by the fries; they weren't crispy at all, and they didn't have any salt. Their grilled onions were my favorite, but that's me being generous since nothing else was delivering. I also wish their cheese were more melted, since it made the fries a bit difficult to scoop. Overall, In-N-Out wasn't atrocious, but plain and overhyped best describes it. I am glad I gave it a try.

Our food came out fairly fast. We didn't take them up on the offer, but there's a sign saying that you can sample any of their meat options. Pretty cool! For $13.99, I had the Taco Joe plate--4 street tacos with rice and beans. They were out of the chicken in black chile sauce, so I tried the beef in black chile and the bistek con chile (red pepper steak) tacos. Both were very delicious, but the black chile sauce was a standout. It was unique--and hard to pinpoint the flavors. The tacos were so substantial, I couldn't finish the plate. We also had chips and salsa with their hottest sauce, the creamy green. It was pretty hot, so be warned. My boyfriend had the torta, which was massive. It had a generous amount of avocado too, which was a nice touch. They brought out complimentary chicharrones (the vegan kind). It looks like they expanded their restaurant, but one of the employees told us that they're planning on downsizing. It's a shame, because this is a solid place for Mexican. I hope more people give it a shot.
