Smh... this whole meal was a no go! Chicken was dry, hard and over breaded and not seasoned! Fries were soggy and the ranch was warm

My partner had been raving about Bonfire Wings so I decided to give it a try today. Overall, I thought it was okay but it wouldn't be my go-to for wings. I thought the portion size was great. I felt it was on par for the price. I ordered the bonfire special which was a ten piece (garlic Parmesan and Cajun mojito) bone-in with fries, boudin balls with cheese and two celery sticks. The food was good. I wasn't a fan of the garlic Parmesan wings as the Parmesan gave it a funky taste but the Cajun mojito was good. The Cajun mojito was the second hottest but it wasn't that hot and this is coming from someone with low spice tolerance. The service was good. We were greeted, service was fast, and there were even complimentary Hershey's kiss which I thought was nice. The restaurant was well decorated and definitely had a Louisiana flare. I'd recommend it if someone wanted to go but it wouldn't be my first choice for hot wings.

Well it's been a year since my last review. Back on the road again for 2022 and my first stop was Houston, and my first meal of choice was from Bonfire Wings. I really enjoy their food. Tonight I had a large creole gumbo which was delicious, along with a boudin link, and a boudin ball. Two boudin links is too much to eat and two boudin balls isn't quite enough, but one of each with the large gumbo was just right. It was all very delicious. My one and only complaint is :-( they didn't send any crackers but I'm stuffed none the less. Worthy of a bookmark and a try !!!

Great boudin balls and the wings are so yummy!! Service is good when you eat inside, if you order online or by phone please note that they do require you to pay before you pick up. Great Louisiana vibes, love the zydeco music.

I was craving some wings and found Bonfire Wings. They currently have two ghost kitchens operating in Houston which offer creole style wings along with boudain and gumbo. I ordered the garlic parmesan, hot, Cajun mojo, hot lemon pepper wings and the cheesy boudain. The Cajun mojo was amazing!! The wings were fried to perfection and sauced very generously. They have 12 flavors to choose from. The boudain was seasoned just right and so cheesy. I can't wait to go back and try more. IG @ohcayeats

Mardi Gras Special. Spicy Creole Wings, seasoned fries, 2 boudin balls. Ranch and celery.

The wings were fried just right. I love the spicy creole dry rub and the fries were fried well with seasoning on them as well(comes as an option). The order took 15 minutes and decided to eat in since they applied a service member discount. Food tasted great overall.

Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing due to both the service and the food quality. Our server was very slow throughout the evening. After ordering cocktails, it took approximately 20 minutes for them to arrive. We then ordered our meals... I had the burger and fries, while my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were noticeably over salted. After finishing our meals, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to receive a dessert menu. Eventually, we decided not to wait any longer and went to Dessert Gallery down the street instead. While the atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant were excellent, the slow service and food issues negatively impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would likely not return.

Just before closing, we had the place to ourselves and got to shoot the S with the owner who gave us its very cool history. 38 years in, and a few miles on his ledger, Marty still cranks out some fabulous food! The place was like walking into the 50's, with the old school metal tables and ample linoleum. I LOVE Louisiana cooking, and it couldn't have been more authentic. The only problem I had with my shrimp gumbo is the bowl was too small (actually a filling portion) and loaded with succulent, tender shrimp. Yummmmm! The cornbread was sublime and dipping it in the gumbo was killer! John had a Po Boy and said it was heavenly. The fries were obviously fresh cut and perfect. We finished with the bread pudding as we are both connoisseurs, and boy did it not disappoint. Thank You for yet another 5 star experience and a return visit will be on the horizon! Cheers, JimG

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind.
