Whataburger is one of those dependable Austin staples, and the Oltorf location is conveniently located when I'm grabbing something to eat while at work. I usually order through the Whataburger app, which is definitely the way to go if you want to take advantage of the rewards and coupon offers. One of my favorite deals is getting a free cheeseburger with the purchase of a medium fry and medium drink. When the offers line up, it makes for a pretty solid value. I typically order a cheeseburger, and the food itself is generally consistent and reliable. You know what you're getting with Whataburger, and this location has been no different in that regard. Unfortunately, service is the weak spot at this particular location. My pickup orders are frequently not ready when the app says they will be, and the wait can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to grab lunch during a workday. The issue isn't really the food; it's the execution of getting the order out in a timely manner. That said, the Oltorf location remains a convenient option when I'm working nearby. I just wouldn't choose it when I'm on a tight schedule and need a guaranteed quick pickup. read more

Waited 20 minutes for simple burger combo Asked for take out but they served it as dine in The server was inept and didn't acknowledge me when I asked for a to go bag I had to shove the food into my chipotle bag Also no napkins are available and the front door is broken. Every time you come here, some homeless person is going to ask for money from you. It's happened 5/5 times I have been here. This will be my last trip here. read more

Was fast easy was able to use a coupon even though the manager messed it up and then things were corrected, shake was made but the inside was falling out out cup so made mess as the male handed to me with out wiping it on napkins or even looking at it before giving it to me . My findings are messy bc the shake was not closed fully before given to me and it's falling from side of cup I don't like that idea of eyes going down read more

This location is one of the best around!! I mean it could be because I was dressed head-to-toe in Whataburger gear during our last visit. Fresh ingredients for made to order burgers and sandwiches. Service with a smile. Super and I mean super clean! read more

I was so excited to try Whataburger after seeing so many travel vlogs with people trying their burgers and patty melts and loving them. We ordered the double burger combo with fries and a sweet tea and the patty melt. The sweet tea was good and not too sugary, the fries were similar to McDonalds in my opinion, so no complaints there. The patty melt and burger were just okay. The burger itself didn't seem to be anything special. It had McDonalds vibes with the burger flavor and I think I was looking for something closer to In and Out or Shake Shack style. I definitely won't be returning. We tried out P Terry's burgers in Austin and I honestly liked their food better and it was much cheaper. read more

The staff was friendly and at first I thought the prices was high, but I did order the signature burger. (Monterey Melt toasted on both sides) with a bogo valentines deal. That is a pound of meat that I ordered. Boy did we enjoy the burger that's only here for a limited time. So much more flavor than In N Out and much bigger batteries. There goes a Texas born company. The location is also very clean and open 24/7 read more

Triple Meat Whataburger - 3 large beef patties, 3 slices cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, diced onion, mustard / 5! Whatameal Combo - add medium fries and medium drink / 5! Dr. Pepper Milkshake / 5! When I was planning my first trip to Texas, I knew I wanted to try Whataburger. I live in an area where they do not have any locations and love all kinds of burgers and burger places. I am very happy to report my first visit to Whataburger was a big success. I was so excited to finally be able to try their burgers, so I got a little carried away and ordered a triple. The burger was huge! I am a hearty eater but even I had trouble finishing the entire triple burger. I had no regrets even though I had to rest after finishing it. The burger was full of beefy, good flavor. I had Whataburger twice on my vacation. The second time, I had a double which was a perfect, large meal for me with the fries. The fries were crispy and tasty. I love dipping sauces as well as ketchup. It was neat to see all the various sauces you could order with your meal. My favorites were the jalapeno ranch and spicy ketchup. I had never seen a Dr. Pepper milkshake on a menu before so I treated myself to a small one. It was like having a Dr. Pepper float. I'd order it again. This is the location we went to for our first Whataburger meal. The staff was clearly working hard that day. The place was busy and there were a lot of cars in the drive through window. But the crew was friendly and nice. The location had a lot of parking and lots of seating. Overall, for my first Whataburger experience, it was a good one and I would certainly return if the opportunity came up. read more

Horrible service always forgetting food is a constant issue people of the phone are rude

The manage was little rude doesn't allow me to order with drive through with note on phone or paper since I can't hear from the speaker therefore i am deaf to tell me to order inside. I had to come inside to order. Where is the equal???? This is unfair. read more

I used the Whataburger app for the 1st time. Super easy! I love that I can detail my order as much as possible and take my time doing so. I got a #7 with cheese and large fry. Trying out the brioche bun toasted on both sides and grilled onions. Curbside was super easy and quick once I arrived. The only downside is they forgot my grilled onions :( other than that all is yummy! read more

Everything went well from the minute st the speaker to the drive thru window excellent service perfect meal . Everyone so courteous and friendly read more

Ordered a burger and a chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was so old I mistaked it for a burger. It had old lettuce and tomato aswell. The lettuce was old and turning brown and the tomatoes disintegrated into the chicken patty with just the skin of the tomato being left. My burger aswell must've been old because my boyfriend woke up with food poisoning and my dog got sick from the bite he had of the burger. Tried to call the store but no one answered. Called corporate and haven't gotten a call back yet. Very disappointed in the quality and service. I get it maybe sitting for a little while but that was long over due. Wasn't even edible read more

A typical fast food experience. Nothing great, nothing gross. The burger tasted like it came from Hardees/Carls Jr and the menu didn't have that many items. The breakfast "taquito" had more in common with a small burrito. But at least they were open late. read more

I generally do not like to do reviews for chain restaurants, and like to stick to non-chain restaurants, but for this Whataburger, I will make an exception. I hate writing bad reviews for businesses, but seeing how this location has went out of their way not once, but twice, to disappoint me, I feel it is my duty to warn you how terrible this place is. If you do not believe me, read the other bad reviews, and then make your decision. In the area for work yesterday morning, I decided to hit the drive through and get breakfast. The layout and curb appeal of this Whataburger was intriguing, as it looked very modern, and not your typical boring Whataburger building. I had such high hopes right off the bat. I went through the drive through and placed my order. The wait was a bit longer than usual for a Whataburger, but I did not think anything of it. I paid for my order, got my food, and drove off. Lunch time came around, and in the mood for a snack, I decided to give them another shot. Places to eat in this area are not readily available. So, I walked in, the the line was to the door. Behind the register there was one person taking orders, and one other employee off to the side doing nothing. The cashier was in no particular hurry to move the line, and said employee with nothing to do, kept interrupting the cashier, slowing her down even more. Finally, my turn. Looking at my watch, I had been standing in line 10 minutes. Said employee with nothing to do, still felt the need to disrupt the line and cut up with the cashier. I proceeded to get my drink and wait. All I had ordered was onion rings, so surely the wait will not be bad. Wrong. Twenty minutes goes by. Employees who were off - not in Whataburger attire - now arrived, and distracted the cashier, as well as other employees who were working. The order prior to mine was going out to the person in front of me, to which was wrong. The cashier, whom was distracted by the initial fella not working, messed their order up since she was not paying attention. Enough is enough. I see what appears to be a manager, grabbed him, and asked him politely to check on my simple order. I informed him that it had been longer than usual, with me needing to get back to work. So, the manager walked back to the back, appeared to check on my order, then walked back to me and said "it will be just another minute, boss," and blew me off. So, I walked out without my food, as I'm into this visit for 30 minutes. So much for "fast food." Fast forward to today. Like an idiot, I chose to come here for breakfast. I hit the drive through, placed my order, then looked ahead and there are three cars in front of me. The car in front is having a long animated conversation, and their order was messed up. Their order had to be remade, making the wait even longer. After a longer than usual wait, I make it up to the window. The young man behind the doors asks me for my order again, then proceeds to tell me they made it wrong, so they had to make it again. After yet another long wait, the young man hands me my order, and tells me I'm good to go, and I ask him if he is sure, as I have not paid, and he told me I was. Thinking justice is served for not receiving a meal I paid for yesterday, I drove off. Well, karma got me when I got to my destination, checked my order, and realized it was wrong. Oh, and when I was leaving, I noticed two bums at the bus stop having a physical altercation, with one swinging a pole at the other. Bad service, bad location, incorrect orders, and a lot of bad reviews. I will never return here, and I do not recommend this location at all. read more

I feel bad giving this review but it has to be said. This burger is not great. Which burger you ask? The whataburger of course. I've given this place three chances to wow me and three times I've been let down. I also tried the honey bbq chicken that everyone was raving about (better than the whataburger but still not great). There is the "of course it's not great, it's fast food" argument but there is plenty of fast food out there that taste amazing and here in Austin the competition is even steeper. The worst part is they don't even compete on price. If the burger isn't great at least make it cheaper ‍. Maybe I'm being picky but I'm not a fan of the food read more

This location has 2 stars for good reason, they can't seem to get anything right .. 11pm with a slow store they messed up our order. Thank god we didn't drive away before checking .. they "fixed" it ... we came home to another order error! Terrible. We came back and got a refund. Only coming back here if my kitchen burns down! Aren is the manager he could've done something to make this right. read more

no spicy ketchup i asked for, no mustard or ketchup on my chicken sandwich and no sugar in my sweet tea. please actually try next time.

Terrible experience. Every time it takes 20 mins to get your food. Everyone who works here has no customer service skills. Don't get in the right drive through lane. You will be skipped. Good quality I would give a 3stars but overall experience is less than 1. I have given this place enough tries. Get you *hit together. This place is a dumpster fire. read more

Food is good. But I'm here to complain about the employees. So I get to whataburger for lunch and I'm literally left waiting at the counter for 15 min. Then all the staff runs to the women's bathroom consuming both stalls for considerable for another 10 min. They were chattin up a storm and not interested in going back to work. So it appeared anyways. It doesn't stop there. I get done using the bathroom and I literally wait 30 minutes and I haven't received my food. Finally I asked about it and it was given to the wrong person. And it gets worse. The manager on duty instructed the staff to go fetch it from the other people whom had actually already left. She acted like she awanted the staff to give me food that had already been touched by another customer. By the time it was finished I had waited 45. Mnmkkmmk read more

The service was terrible.. They forgot one of our burgers, took about 30 extra minutes to make it.. They left us sitting in the drive thru the entire time.. That's beyond crazy & even when there's no one in the store, they still take entirely too long. Avoid this whataburger at all costs.. the manger was rude, the drive thru attendants was mediocre & when the store manager caught wind of what was going on, he just called his employee away to do something else.. NEVER GO HERE & I'm calling corporate in the morning read more

Very slow. I ordered a kids meal and it took them 30 minutes to bring it out. I ordered drive through.

I should've been paid min wage for how long I waited in the drive thru. If you're considering coming to this location (especially on a weekend night) maybe don't. I have an order through the app and I've been in the drive thru for legitimately almost an hour ago, just now got to the window and they don't even know what my order is. What a mess of an establishment. read more

The food at this new (or at least renovated) location is pretty on point. And when they're on point, Whataburger is hard to beat. But we also know that consistency is the bugaboo for Whataburger. Here's what keeps them at an "OK" at best -- and that's charitable. This location can't handle a crowd at all. I stopped in earlier this week and came away frustrated. I did my usual online order before I went in. Big problem. No one was at the counter. There were several management types walking around doing everything but taking care of customers. Eventually, someone came to the counter and gave me a drink cup. I then had to check with someone to find out the status of my online order for dine-in. He returned fairly quickly with a to go bag with my order. To my surprise, it was prepared correctly. I'm pretty sure it had been sitting there for a bit as it wasn't warm at all. Good fast food, poor execution. read more

This whataburger consistently messes your order up. Last 4 times I've been here, something is either missing from my order or made wrong.

This location is trash! My order was incorrect. The lady that took my order asked me to repeat it! I had to go back inside and ask for fresh fries. The first batch of fries were stale and cold. read more

Waited 20mins at the drive thru for cold food. The fries were not fresh and the burger buns were cold. Very disappointed in this WhatABurger. There were like 10 employees working that day and they did a horrible job. They don't know what they're doing at this location. Don't waste your time here. Food takes too long and taste cold and old when you get it. So sad. read more

Whataburger makes the best burgers on the planet. I'm partial to the Whataburger with Bacon and Cheese. Their fries and drinks are great too. What I'm not a fan of is the new architecture. Waited 15 minutes for 3 burgers no one acknowledged us. Got our order wrong. All workers were just walking around

Slowest Whataburger I've ever been to. Lots of customers standing around, waiting. Not ever coming back.

The staff is rude and terrible. They're ghetto and unhelpful. Food is always soggy and gross, they act like you're the problem. I just had a girl at the front register with her bad attitude didn't even acknowledge me after I said thank you and left. After a long night out you can never go wrong with the classic Whataburger certainly if you're from Texas. This is a pretty good location compared to the other location that was previously on Oltorf. With power shut off on the east side due to a major weather event, this is one of the few local food service options that took steps to be open and feed the increasingly desperate members of the local community. Huge thank you to this amazing team and their incredible staff who braved hazardous roads and challenging weather conditions to make sure east side had a warm meal to eat. Y'all are heroes.
