Six years later I thought I would try again. I called and asked if there were any appts today. I was told one left. I hung up to think about it and called back less than 5 min later to take it. A different person answered the phone this time. Once I gave her my number and name she put me on hold vs just booking it. I was then told the appt was no longer available. I don't believe it. Not for a second. There were probably notes on my file when I complained back in 2020 when my daughter was left in tears. Never going back. Toxic catty environment. If Sam was still the owner I would tell him as he had integrity. Yuck, nope, bye. UPDATE I was in the area close to the proposed appointment time. So I decided to pop in and see if the 1:10 appointment with a level 2 stylist was still available. AND IT WAS!!!! There was my proof on this poorly managed salon. Once the mean girl got wind of what was going on and who I was, she took over dealing with me (lol). She tried to "fix" things by saying something opened up with her at the exact same time LOL but we all know what a lie that is. Caught in her schemes. I went to Bliss for about three years and switched from the salon I was visiting simply because I'd been visiting the stylist there for too long (yes, it's possible) and wanted a drastic change. I saw Diane's hair and commented on it before realizing that she was a hair stylist herself - it was incredibly funky and edgy and she totally pulled it off. I had never had short hair and Diane's haircut was quite short and unlike any style I had ever seen. When I visited her for the first time, we sat down and talked about what I was looking to do and my only criteria was that it had to be funky and drastically different than my current style so what I ended up with was a short fo-hawk with florescent yellow and blue highlights. On the surface it may sound extreme and not flattering at all but I absolutely adored it and judging by the number of compliments I received, I know others thought it looked great too. Since those crazy florescent days, I've mellowed out quite a bit and now have very long hair. Diane has always gone out of her way to make sure that whatever style I choose - crazy or not - I absolutely love it. Everyone working there gives fantastic customer service and the products they sell have always kept my hair feeling and looking healthy. Because I'm now much more thrifty on how much I spend on hair cuts, I visit salons much less often than I used to. Also, St. Albert is quite out of the way for me. However, if I ever want to go "out there" again with a look, Bliss will be the first place I go. To clarify: all the stylists do an excellent job of catering to whatever look you're going for. Now the "selling point" for me - a senior level stylist stepped in, listened to my concerns, gave some pointers to the first stylist, and totally turned the whole experience around. In essence I ended up with two complete haircuts without ever being made to feel like an idiot, and left quite happy. This is the first time in my entire (long) life that I've experienced a salon which truly seemed to CARE that I was totally satisfied before I left and I am very grateful for that.

My stylist - Blanca - was on time, friendly, happy, chatty, and really creative. She knew just what I wanted even though I couldn't explain it very well. For my colour, I said I wanted something unique and creative and rather than just go to the default of black with red or black with blonde, she took easily over 15 minutes to visualize, to look at different coloured swatches, to talk to me about what she was thinking, and she actually DESIGNED my colour for my head and for the cut she was planning. It ended up completely amazing and has so much dimension to it that I can't stop looking at it - every time I do my hair, it looks a little bit different, but it ALWAYS looks great! My cut was the same - she listened to what I wanted, asked good questions, thought about the cut, and then started at it. When she was done, I didn't look like the same person. She took her time, gave it the care it deserved, and even though she had to stay late to finish, she didn't rush it. Even though the whole process took over 4 hours (four or five different colours, in foils and solid colour, etc), I wasn't bored for a second. Blanca timed everything so that I was never left just sitting. I was continuously offered tea or coffee (yummy cherry tea!) just as I finished it, there was lots happening around the salon (including a photo shoot!), and best of all, I got an amazing hand massage and a DELICIOUS scalp massage. Words cannot describe how happy I am with my cut and colour and the best part is how comfortable and happy the salon seemed to be - laughter and talking and people making everyone feel like family the second they walked in the door. Both the owners were there and they constantly circulated making sure that everyone - stylists and customers alike - were happy and had what they needed. Amazing experience!

As soon as I saw Emily I knew she was the stylist for me. I had a lot of photos to show her and she understood what it was that I wanted from the start. As Emily was carefully cutting my hair I had time to look at the other stylists, clients, and the place itself. It feels like a calm, and caring place where everyone was relaxed and sipping on an offered beverage. When I found out that this is a family run salon I liked it even more. Other stylists helped to weigh in on which products would be best for my hair and then Emily found a cheaper version so that I had a choice. There is even a free bang trim between cuts which is appreciated. Somehow by the end of my cut my hair looked like my favorite part of each photo I had shown Emily. I will definitely be back ! I arrived a bit early and had a nice chat with the receptionist who shared some of her skin care hacks with me, which was positive interaction number one. I really appreciated that the stylist I came to see noticed some flaws in the cut I had previously received and helped me towards fixing the error in the future, although it would take a bit of growth to correct. She also sounded like she'd help you get the look you want, but would advise you against things that would really damage your hair, which I completely respect. It was such a good experience that I've already booked my next appointment.

I am going to start this review off my saying how truly hurt I am that I have to write this. I was…read moredeceived for so long, and can't even fathom that a business that is supposed to be about making people feel good, allowed this to go on for so long. I started going to bombshell extensions about a year ago, and switched from the tape in extensions to the microweft method that they offered. I though all was going well until coming to a different salon to have my colour done today. The purpose of me coming to a different salon in the first place was that they were unreachable for several weeks, and upon finally getting a response they were so unorganized that they couldn't even figure out who I was. I was a client at Bombshell for a year. The amount of bald spots, sores, and hair loss I have is unfathomable. Had someone told me 6 months ago that the extensions were causing so much damage I would have stopped - although I sense that is why they didn't tell me, they only care about money. On top of never having my hair washed between new extension installs, they didn't even bother to remove the old beads - they were adding new beads below the old ones to push the extensions up. The beads in my hair varied in colour from beige, black, and brown. They couldn't even use one colour. My hair is extremely fine as is, and I only wish that someone had been upfront with me about the damage it was causing. Had this method been done in a sanitary and appropriate method without short cuts, I feel I may not have had as much damage as I do. They only have one staff member now, and had to shut down their large salon so I do feel as though they have bitten off more than they can chew, causing corners to be cut. If you are in this industry, and industry that is supposed to be about making people feel good, you need to do things the right way. This includes but is not limited to washing hair between installs, using the same colour beads, cutting out the old beads, alternating placement to avoid balding/extreme tension on the hair, etc. Please reconsider the industry you are in so this does not happen to anyone else any longer.
