I really wish I had read more reviews before calling this company…read more
Please be very careful with the advertised "50% off" promotions. In my experience, the designer calling a manager in front of you to get an additional discount felt more like part of the sales process than a genuine special offer. Several of my friends have also contacted this company and described similar experiences, and some later felt they had overpaid for what they received.
One of my biggest concerns is the design process. We are living in the AI era, yet this company still relies heavily on basic paper drawings instead of giving customers a proper 3D visualization of the finished closet. For someone doing a closet project for the first time, a paper drawing may not give you any real idea of what the finished cabinets will actually look like. You can easily approve a design and later realize that the layout, proportions, storage, or overall appearance is not what you expected.
I worked with several other companies and designers, including Home Depot, California Closets, Costco closet providers, IKEA, and smaller independent companies. Even some very small companies use 3D modeling software. With those companies, I could actually see what I was buying before making a decision, which made the process feel much more professional and transparent.
I went through several iterations of the design with this company, but it always seemed like something was missing. Another thing I noticed is that features that may be standard or commonly included with other companies--such as soft-close hardware, thicker panels, and other upgraded materials--can become additional upgrades here and quickly increase the final price. Customers should compare specifications carefully instead of focusing only on the advertised discount.
Also, be very careful with the designers. In my experience, the sales process can feel very pushy. They may work very hard to bring the price within your budget, but that does not necessarily mean the design itself has been fully optimized for your needs. Never sign a contract simply because the number fits your budget.
Without seeing a proper 3D design, I would strongly recommend not committing to a closet project. At times, the experience reminded me of going to a car dealership and saying, "Find me a car within this budget," without knowing exactly which model, features, or quality level you want. You may end up with something that technically fits the budget but is far from what you would have chosen if you had properly compared your options.
Unfortunately, I am now dealing with a dispute involving a 20% deposit on my own project. In my situation, portions of the paperwork were signed during the in-home visit, while additional design work and electronic signing happened later. Because of those circumstances, I am reviewing my cancellation rights and California consumer-protection requirements rather than assuming the deposit is automatically lost.
My advice to anyone considering a closet project is simple: do your homework before the designer arrives.
We are living in the AI era. Spend some time using ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or another AI tool to compare companies, materials, pricing, cabinet thickness, hardware, warranties, and design features. Upload or describe the proposed design and ask the AI to identify wasted space, missing shelves, poor proportions, accessibility issues, or features that may be overpriced.
Then compare at least three or four companies and insist on seeing a detailed 3D design before signing anything.
A designer may spend a few hours with you, but you may live with that closet for the next 10, 15, or 20 years. Spending a little extra time researching and validating the design before signing can save you thousands of dollars and years of regret.
