I'd give zero stars if I could. Don't trust the manager OR employees with anything! They're shady and thieves. My daughter left her phone at the register by accident. And she and her friend asked three times over a period of two hours if her phone had been turned in and they said no everytime. They watched her empty and dig through trash, they watched her circle inside Charlotte Russe for an hour, they watched me, the mom show up and so the same search. When her dad came to help and used "find my phone" to locate it, which showed 100% accuracy that it was behind the counter - her father approached them for the 4th time. The Indian manager, with a smirk on his face handed it over. That wasted hours of our time and could have been avoided had they been honest. This is the first time I placed my order with Lalow the Wetzel's Store Manager. I ordered one piece of the Pepperoni Wetzel Pretzel and one regular size Starry Soft Drink. Their prices are much higher than I expected them to be. Just for this one Pepperoni Pretzel, the price was $6.50. The Starry Soft Drink was $2.50 and I bought one cup of the melted cheese dip. The price was $2.40. My total cost was $10.90. I was doing some shopping at the Shoppes in Carlsbad on Monday on March 27. 2024 at the Shoppes in Carlsbad, CA it was after 3 p. m. I sat down one of their chairs in the mall hallway to eat this Pepperoni Pretzel and drink the one cup of their Starry Soft Drink. I noticed when I pulled apart one piece of the Pepperoni Pretzel it was kind of hard and chewy on the outside. It looks like this Pepperoni Pretzel was sitting there in the counter for a while. I continued to dip in each piece that I broke off and place it in the cheese dip container to see if this pepperoni pretzel would improve the taste. It did make this pepperoni pretzel taste much better. The Starry Soft Drink tastes somewhat like the Sprite Soft Drink but not as sweet. That is the only reason why for my 4 star rating due to the pepperoni pretzel would have tasted much better if it was served fresh and it would be softer. The pretzel bites are delicious! However, I've noticed that some are not fully cooked, I've encountered a few that were still doughy.

My visit here at the mall was meh. Not a complete surprise that I didn't get good customer service. As I approached the counter I did not receive any type of greeting. With my grandkids in tow and no chance to look over the items on the menu I asked if they had any type of bite size pretzels. The gal smartly said yes and finally read off to me what they had. I ordered a few different bite size items and a couple or regular size pretzels. The employees stuffed my order in two small bags. Everything is piping hot. Open the bag once I reached the tables across the way and everything is smashed and sweaty. Luckily that didn't change the taste of everything. I may stop by if I think I may get better customer service. It won't be difficult to walk away that's for sure. Kick it up your customer service. read more

We were walking around and then this delicious smell hit, wam, right in the face. What was that? It could only be, the one, the only. Plus, my partner had never tried it before so all the more reason! We kinda went a bit overboard...our first order was salted and cinnamon bites. Then we came back AGAIN to get sauces and pizza bites. Boy did it slap! SO GOOD. Just like I remember, nostalgia of being a teenager hanging out with friends at the mall and grabbing pretzels. Terrible . I ordered pretzel bites and three cheeses to share with friends . The pretzel bites were old and stale and when I asked for a refund, they said they didn't know how to do a refund. ( I paid cash ) . she then gave me a regular pretzel, which was actually undercooked and then by then I was completely over it and so I took the pretzels home, thinking I would maybe reheat and try to eat them later. Then I realized all three cheeses were expired by two months. This is crazy and should never happen. My stomach was gurgling from the few bites of cheese I ate. So disappointing. Way better than I remember. I found myself at the mall the other day and stopped in for some mid-mall snacking. I know this isn't gourmet food we're talking about, but nostalgia struck hard and there's nothing quite like strolling through the mall with some pretzel bites in hand. We tried three different flavors; classic, pizza, and cinnamon. The pretzels were fresh and doughy, but the real key is to get some dipping sauces that pair well. This mall is under construction so its probably affecting the quality of the product. I would imagine during it's busy regular hey day, Wetzel's goes through a lot of pretzels here. But since there's less traffic with construction, they are not moving the product as usual. But still producing as usual and it's sitting there past it's prime. Dog bites $6.99, cheese $1.29 - these mini beanie weenies wrapped in pretzel dough were not worth $6.99. Not fresh, sitting for awhile. Original pretzel $3.69, cheese $1.29 - wow was this not good. I had the opportunity to have a really fresh Auntie Anne's pretzel at the Oakland Airport recently and what a difference! The Wetzel's pretzels were stale. Just went to the location at Carlsbad Village Mall (Downstairs) at 3:30 pm on 11/21/2020. The two women working the front were RUDE! Talking crap about me being a white cheap ass (in Spanish) because I stated that it costs $24 for 2 pretzels and two small lemonade drinks. For years the only reason I came to the shoppes is to enjoy some of these pretzel bites but today around 2:30 I went to the one on the second floor and ordered the worlds simplest thing... plain pretzel bits and not only did the cashier have the worlds worst attitude but she also gave us old stale pretzels and got upset when we asked to return/exchange them. I payed 15 dollars for bread pieces the least you could do is give me some that are fresh... she exchanged them for salted ones that literally had more salt than bread... This was a kiosk at the Mall. The worker was so sweet! We asked about one without butter and he explained they had to make it but he could on the spot, we would just have to wait about 10-15 mins. He also told us how many calories it added. He really was a great help. We just got it the way it was. He explained how they used to have them ready to go, but they didn't sell as well and got dried out so now they make the non-buttered ones to order. They were fresh and warm and salty and yummy! We have been here twice in the last 6 months and we will not be returning to this location for pretzels. My son loves pretzels and we always grab one when we go to the mall before we leave to have in the car. Both times I have gotten pretzels from this location our pretzels have been raw! There are two Wetzle's Pretzels kiosks in the mall, one on the first floor and one on the second. I've been to both a handful times with no problem, until today. The second floor kiosk gave me a pizza pretzle that had multiple strands of hair baked into the cheese and sticking out of it. I thought they may have just been cheese strings at first, until I pulled one out and realized it was indeed a strand of hair. I brought it back and asked for a refund, which I will say to their credit was promptly given, albeit without any sort of apology or concern. I also noted that none of the employees were wearing hair nets, only caps or open-topped visors. I will be sticking to the downstairs kiosk or not at all from now on. read more
