Mike and Chris came by this morning to clean our chimney and cannot recommend them more!! They were so kind and respectful. They not only cleaned our chimney and got it ready to use in time for the holidays, but Mike walked me through step by step how to best use our fireplace as well! it was very much appreciated! They were careful not to make a mess and got the job done very fast and efficiently. The cookies I baked for them were not enough to express my gratitude! Will definitely be using them again in the future. read more

Very happy with our chimney inspection and cleaning service. We haven't used the fireplace since moving in 8 yrs ago but felt the need to have it inspected. And glad I did, we found out the previous occupants did not service it at all and used wood all the time. Mike addressed all of my concerns and provided recommendations and advice. Doug did a great job with the cleaning. They confirmed the appointment two day prior and arrived right on time. Highly recommended. read more

We were at the San Diego County Fair and stopped to learn about the importance of having our chimney swept. It truly is important for the safety of the occupants! Not only did we learn about our safety, we were offered an incredible price at the fair. They were really nice and did a great job. I can't believe how clean they were. I can't even dump the ashes without the whole house smelling like a camp fire! Mike reiterated the importance of annual cleaning, and not burning pine. We are definitely booking again the next time we are at the fair! read more

The crew showed up early, they were prompt courteous and professional. They were very mindful of the Covid environment and taking proper precautions they also prepped the house to minimize any type of debris or mess post departure. They gave a military discount which was an added benefit. I would highly recommend this crew. I should also add they did a visual inspection of the crowns on his fireplace and gave a detailed verbal report and written report on receipt. They also had the opportunity to upsell me on a chimney cap but instead they fixed the current one I had in order to mitigate my cost. That was exceptional service and old school done right. read more

Getting our chimneys taken care of by Weststar was the best decision we could have made. Doug came out for the initial cleaning and Mike did a follow-up a couple weeks later to ease our minds about how to care for and operate a chimney (much more complicated than one would think! just ask them about negative pressure in the house). Thank you again!!! read more

Great job with fireplace cleaning and Level 1 Chimney evaluation. The owner and his apprentice were on time and performed well. The owner, who I interacted with, was personable, professional, and informative. They are are our go to company now, and I would highly recommend them. (I have high standards, so that is saying alot!) One small point of improvement is the pre-appointment process - I had to ask the same question 3 times before getting a clear answer from the contact person about specifics of the fireplace cleaning - what exactly was included in the service. She was gracious enough, but answers were not completely on target. Call them for your chimney service. You will be glad you did! read more

Called Weststar to get a Level 2 chimney inspection. Knew there were good things to come simply because of the courteous and thorough explanation of service when I requested a service call. To my great satisfaction, came the next day to complete the work. Professional, personable, efficient, and thorough is the least I can say. Went straight to work, explained what they were doing, and completed the inspection to our absolute satisfaction. Mike and Doug were exceptionally well-versed in their business, the standards and code requirements for fireplaces, and very easy to work with and talk to. Based on what we experience first-hand, Weststar provides quality service and does so such that we won't hesitate to call on them again whenever our fireplace needs attention. Well done Weststar Chimney Sweeps. read more

We had Westar come out to clean and inspect the chimney on a house we just bought. They did a great job for a reasonable price and gave us very good information for the future. I would highly recommend this company for your chimney needs. read more

We had been told by another chimney sweep company that our chimney had glazed creosote and it would take $1800 to clean it. The tech took about 10 minutes total to clean and inspect the chimney and never went on the roof. We got a second opinion from Westar and found out that the $1800 cleaning method wasn't even appropriate for our chimney. Our fireplace is almost 100 years old and had been rebuilt with a stainless steel lining about 20 years ago. Mike said he had an alternative that would cost $450, and the results were amazing! He told us things about our chimney that no one had ever taken the time to explain. Westar is a professional company that is interested in doing the right job. Hands down the best! read more

Responsive and affordable. Great service! A friend recommended them and they came through perfectly!

We had a very heavily glazed chimney. So bad two other sweep companies referred us to Westair. Mike and crew did a bang up job. A few months back I had Westar come out and sweep my chimney and repair the cracks in the firebox. They did a fantastic job so I scheduled Mike the owner of Westar Chimney Sweeps and Chris to come back today to re-seal our chimney. They arrived on time and in proper protective equipment, took video of my chimney before and after the flue was resealed, I was afraid to use my 50 year old fire place because it had so many gaps and holes. Afterward, I reviewed what had been done via the video taken and it looks like brand new! Mike is not your average Chimney Sweep he is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of chimney repair and extremely honest and reliable. If you need a chimney sweep don't even hesitate to call Mike at Westar Chimney Sweeps, they will not disappoint you! read more

Weststar came to my house today and, as usual, they were prompt, professional and courteous. I like how they just don't do the job and leave, but take the time to explain what they did and why they did it. Mike pointed out that I should warm up the fireplace before I use it and explained my flue was rather small which explained the smoke forming in the living room. Every time they come out I learn something new and they do a great job. I highly recommend them! read more

Found them at the SD Fair. They called with a friendly reminder a few days before my appointment. Alex was awesome! He arrived early since I was in a condo association and wanted to be sure he would be able to find my unit and be on time. He inspected and cleaned the fireplace and chimney then cleaned the dryer vent. He brought up things he was looking for and why and pointed out what issues he found. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He was very cautious of my home and my belongings. I will be asking for him again next time and referring him to my friends. Okay so a little background. I have lived in my house for 29 years and never once has my family used our fireplace from the day we bought the house. Been wanting to have our chimney swept and inspected for a while now and have seen Weststar at San Diego County Fair over the years. Finally decided this year was it and I made an appointment. Marietta is very sweet and so awesome. Told me what to expect and what they're going to do. Now for the job itself. Our technician was Alex. Got a call from him an hour before our scheduled appointment for 2 PM to confirm. Let me know he was ahead of schedule so if I wanted him to come early he could. Told me 15 minutes and he certainly got to the house in 15 minutes. Showed up with tarps and business card in hand and got straight to work. Let me know what he would be doing and let me know what to expect during the process. Very informative and broke down in laymen's terms to my father and I what certain things meant and what eventually needed to be done. Since our family never used our fireplace we never knew that we had a pre-fab or that our grate was too big for what we had. Left our house as if he wasn't there. Only indication was a clean and functioning fireplace & informative pamphlets. Thank you Alex! Awesome team and I'm glad I had the Weststar come out to the house. Will certainly recommend them to anyone who has a fireplace. read more
