So this experience began well enough as the salesperson Anna Maries was very nice. She had good sense of color and seemed very knowledgable, that l was until I found out the subway tile that I bought would not work with the shower pan as designed. I found this out when my contractor saw the subway tile and pointed out why (long explanation, but the water wouldn't drain). At no point during 4 appointments/visits my wife and I made, with hours spent picking out tile, were we ever asked about the type of drain or slope the shower would have, and this ultimately is what ruined everything. I called to tell Anna Marie about the issue, to which she said, she did tell us about this problem, but that we insisted on this tile. This is a lie or misremembered exchange. She then also inferred that my contractor must not be good enough to install it, again dodging accountability. I asked if we could get a store credit or do anything, to which Anna Marie said no refunds and then again said my wife and I made the mistake, not her. Now I am left with a bunch of useless tile, money wasted (which I cannot afford), and a remodel on hold. In the end, Anna Marie is nice and she understands how to put color together, but she cleary has no knowledge of what tile should go where, or at the very least neglected to mention it. Mistakes happen, but both Anna Marie and Westside Tile should at least take some accountability. Now I understand why Floor and Decor right up the street is a much better option. read more

Westside Tile is hands down the best place to be if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. Don't let the low key exterior of their building mislead you - their inventory is impressive. Beginning a master bath remodel, we specifically wanted to use 18" porcelain floor tile, and we couldn't find it anywhere. We made the drive from Santa Clarita to Canoga Park, which we should have just done at the outset. We worked with Kaye, who is very professional and knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time with us going over our options, but my husband and I couldn't find anything that we had in mind. We left thinking we were going to have to keep searching, but to our surprise, Kaye texted us the next day with samples of what we were looking for. She had made a special trip to a supplier to find it, and it was exactly what we wanted. She had found the coordinating shower tile as well. We have gotten so many compliments on our bathroom. It was beautiful and she was so helpful with the tile selection and ordering process. She recommended a few tile installers and I chose Raul Vargas, who was amazing. He is so kind and after interviewing several candidates, I could tell he cared most about my concerns regarding my past broken tiles due to a previous installer. He was thorough in his approach and fixed a number of issues that had led to my bad installation. The day before, I purchased seven white tiles, and four brown tiles. The sales rep was incredibly kind understood my problem and found a solution by finding some extra samples they had so I could finish a project that I'm on a deadline for. Definitely the type of person I would want working for me, because she's a problem solver. Today I was short four and walked in and unfortunately, she wasn't working. I then only saw one person sitting at the desk next to where the original sales rep had helped me from. She mentioned she'd remembered me to hold on a second. I then explained to her that I was short just four tiles that were white and I needed to grab those if it's possible so my contractor can finish the project I'm doing. She pulled up my invoice by number and quite quickly went into criticizing the fact that I should've never received the sample products. She went further to say she's not willing to sell me anything but a box of tiles at a time. I asked then if she was a supervisor, and she said no, he just left. I asked her then to call him and please explain that I just need four tiles and that she's being incredibly difficult which I feel is entirely unnecessary. We're talking about four tiles for me to finish my project. She then went on about 15 minutes later to find the tiles in the back that weren't the tiles that I purchased and said here are the brown tiles. she doesn't listen to the customer, she doesn't understand the situation or care about it, she just cares about being right, or what she believes to be right. She then took me back to the back where she said I'm not even allowed to be, but she's allowing me to be so I can show her which tile it is. I explained to her the description and mentioned the invoice and she said it wasn't written. She was unwilling to even help me search for the white tile and said if you don't see it, I can't help you, only if you have a photo. It's just the way of dealing with customers and situations that I think was a huge tragic loss in this instance, and years of running several different companies it's evident. I understand the importance of not creating issues where issues aren't necessary. Although things were done out of the ordinary for me the previous day, sometimes those things are necessary to bring a new clients because you don't know where that small kind gesture will lead. But today, I will never return back to the store, knowing that this person that is incredibly rude treated me the way she did and thinks it's OK. I'll take my business elsewhere. These are the type of employees that can make or break of business. If you find yourself, no other option but to visit the store, definitely avoid the employee with the name in the picture. read more

Westside Tile and Stone went beyond standard sales assistance. Our assistant, Saydey, met our every need from calculating the quantity to layout. She created all the renderings for each of thfour areas for the installer to mount the precious Billie Ombré art tile. He was able to lay out the tile according to her precisely scaled computerized renderings. It was so precise that he made zero errors, and the small amount remaining was used to meet a slight design alteration. What started off as a good experience putting my trust into Anne-Marie, took a drastic turn when we were told by our contractor that the subway tile we purchased doesn't work for our shower floor because it is at a slope and the drain is in the middle of the shower. I trusted her knowledge and sense of style and visited the store about 4 times and only spoke to Anne-Marie everytime before confirming our purchase for bathroom checkered floor and the shower pan and bench. When my husband called the store and spoke to Anne-Marie about our issue, it turned into a blame game without coming up with any solution and basically telling us we're stuck with this tile that we can't use. I was blamed that I insisted on subway tiles for the shower floor to which is a lie or misunderstood or it was the contractors fault for not being good enough. The only thing I Insisted on was a plain shower pan because our shower wall and bathroom floor is busy pattern which she agreed. Long story short, she took no accountability, not willing to do exchange, store credit, or make things right. We were planning on coming back for our other bathroom but after this unfortunate situation, I cant help to feel she got her commission and don't value customer service. read more

The customer service here, the selection, and the quality are really quite stellar. Worked with Larisa multiple times and she was patient, had a good eye, and thoroughly explained things. It is very fun to just walk through the rather large maze of tile and stone and see what strikes you. I think it is worth the premium cost for premium quality and expert guidance. I spent many hours looking at cheaper porcelain at places like Home Depot, and it all looks odd. The patterns look fake, the colors are off, they often just look dirty instead of natural, and you often can't even match a matte floor version to a polished wall version. The tile has to be received from a warehouse, they said 1-3 days, up to a week for the trim. But in the event, it was all ready in a day or two. read more

Just ok is a good way to rate my overall experience with them so far. They have a good selection of tile, decent pricing, but do a poor job communicating the timing and availability of the products they are selling. They DON'T STOCK ANY INVENTORY of any product they are selling. (at least they didn't for the 6 different tiles we ordered from them). Think of them more as tile middlemen vs an actual retailer that stocks inventory. Everything is shipped from various suppliers/manufacturers that are located all over the country/world and take a min of 1-2 weeks to arrive. This becomes an issue when you are mid construction and find out that you need another box or two to finish the project. So either you order extra material up front or take the risk of having your project delayed if you need extra down the road. Either way it costs you more money. If you do work with them, it is important to ask the following to help avoid delays in your project: Is the tile in stock? How much stock is available? Are they still manufacturing it or has it been discontinued? Where is the stock located? How frequently are shipments being sent (they don't ship everyday) and typical ship time? read more
