If that's what you're looking for, try one of the three brewpubs right across the street. Nestled in Bend, If you want good food, don't go there because they only sell corn dogs, hot pockets, chips, and snack food. We love a dive bar crowed with low key locals! Searched on Yelp to find a place close to our hotel and found this place. Even though the reviews are low because of a flirty bartender didn't discourage us. Gurl, please just pour heavy and flirt with my man all day!! Im up for the entertainment! Our bartender was beyond wonderful. We talked soooo much she even gave me her sister's number who cuts hair in Sacramento. She even called her to see if she was taking new clients!! Throughout the outside seating they have several fire pits and heating to keep guest toasty. I'll definitely make this "our spot" when in town!! read more

I went to the West Side Tavern thinking it would be interesting to visit a dive bar in the heart of Bends assortment of fine breweies. This place was discusting. Rather than featuring sports on their monitors, they were showing low rent people sharping knives and attacking lifelike human torsoes that bled when they were slashed and stabbed. I told the bar tender how disturbing it was and she said "they have to practice on something". This is a terrible place and there are a lot of great options in Bend. Came here to play pool on a Monday night and had the worst experience I've ever had at a dive bar. The bartender was extremely rude, and refused to make me a mixed drink because she didn't feel like it. Instead, she gave me lime juice and vodka???? What? She was gone most of the time and would constantly leave to go on a cigarette break. It would take 10 minutes for even a beer. I didn't tip because it was a terrible experience, and she told me she was going to tip herself. That is illegal! I even made a yelp account it was so terrible. I was having a nice time. Around 12:30am the brunette bartender on October 29th ripped my $100 bill from me. Saying I never offered a way to pay and gave me $96 back even though I objected. She eventually let me have the $96 and investigated. Turns out my friend paid for me. Great work. Although I did give you a way to pay no matter how much you deny it. Obviously I couldn't afford to pay with my hundreds. She demanded I leave. The real question is why would you serve me if I didn't have a way to pay. Closing time, you don't have to go home but you can't stay here..." Westside is one of the only bars open late in Bend. It's usually not a pretty crowd, and you don't want to admit you are a patron. But, their bartenders are awesome, the cocktails strong and delicious with fresh-squeezed juices, and the prices are just right. No one arrives here sober, and no one leaves sober. Because it doesn't close until 2:30 PM, all the bar hoppers come here for a night cap and a good, strong, cheap drink. They're pretty heavy handed here, and it doesn't burn a hole in your wallet either. My vodka soda was only $4.50. They do take credit cards here, so that's also a plus. The first thing you'll notice here is a lot of drunks, a lot of bearded men, a lot of older ladies, and a lot of drinking. This is the crowd, people. Embrace it. She was likely the fastest and most personable server we have had in Bend let alone PDX. Nice beer selection and fresh squeezed Greyhounds plus Kate made this place a must! I was at this bar ordered a couple drinks but was really interested in video poker. I had been doing great until. I walked to the til with $400 I'd been tipping well and I knew it wa closed to closing, but I decided to thro a twenty in. I scorecard a bonus on the golden grahms chest game, and right out get a retrigger. So I am playing. Trying to speed things up cause I get it. They start telling me that I have to cash out or they will not pay me. I cash out of the second machine (I started anew when I got the sweet bonus). Thought that was fair. Games are still playing. They tell me that they will not pay my ticket if I continue. In on a bonus. Every hand is money to me and if they were cool money for them. They were bitches and refused to pay out my tickets. Despite many tip (generous) and that I was in a bonus status. I finished my bonus. $100+ from 20 and 16 from another that I cashes out early. That was at 0218 and the good one was 0220. Plenty of time by Oregon lottery law. Why I am so upset was the way they came at me then I feel they probably took over my hot machines.
