    A ROACH IN MY BEDROOM

    Let me update this to respond to Mr. Osbun since I will NOT be emailing because I asked the receptionist Suze, supervisor Alex and my property manager Melissa to escalate me and they ALL denied me to be escalated. I just believe if one truly cared and saw my email that one would have responded there as opposed to now responding to this post. I am not sure what market value is but all I know is that my rent is $3100 while the other rent for the 2 bedroom, on the second floor, is at $2698 (screenshot attached). Pest control isn't relevant if I have still have roaches. And that utility bill is the least of my worries. I clearly have no issues paying the bill, as I've done. It's just not my priority. My main focus is making sure my rent is paid. That bill should not tie into my livelihood and me trying to access to pay my rent as I have done for the last 73 months on time monthly. The team at Westside Habitats are HORRIBLE. Alex is very, VERY condescending. He is rude. Cold. Shows no empathy. Questions the tenants as opposed to finding a solve. And clearly I am not the only one who have the same complaints as you can read the other reviews. 159 1-star reviews out of 354 is the proof to DO NOT RENT WITH WESTSIDE HABITATS. They raise the rent 8.8% annually. You would think for a building that have vacant apartments that they would want to keep their current tenants who have been there over 5 years - nope. Parking used to be free but they changed it to now charge $50. And then you get charged $2.50 fee to pay rent online PLUS ANOTHER $2.50 for them to charge for parking. Just GREEDY It appears after reading the reviews, a majority of their apartments have ROACHES. And what makes it worse is that I told my property manager I had roaches and she told me that I have to wait for the NEXT MONTH for the Pest Service. I said absolutely not. Roaches get people sick. You WILL have homeless people coming in and out of the building. Maintenance is very slow. I waited a week for my new dryer. BUT someone in the building had a MAJOR issue with their apartment and they had them waiting over 6 months for their issue to be fixed. The amount of times the water is shut off is unbelievable. Also, the cleaning crew does not clean as thoroughly. As we all can read the reply, there's a utility company livable that jeopardize your living arrangement. For some reason they report to Westside. However for the LAST 6 years, I've paid my rent on time even throughout COVID. Idk why this one dumb bill have anything to do with my living, that I pay on time every 1st of the month, but they will threaten to evict you. As they did other tenants, read previous reviews.

Throughout her stay, she expressed dissatisfaction with the property and, unfortunately, made repeated threats to leave a negative review. V mentioned that the scent of cleaning products was too strong, but we explained that we prioritize sanitization between each guest to ensure a safe and clean environment. This has never been an issue for previous guests. Additionally, she mentioned construction next door. We personally checked the property earlier in the day, and there was no active construction at the time. While it's possible the neighbors were doing light work, there was no disruption during her stay. Despite our best efforts to accommodate V and address her concerns, she continued to insist on a full refund and threatened a bad review. We ultimately had to reach out to Airbnb for assistance due to the ongoing threats. We always strive to provide a positive experience for our guests and are sorry that this stay did not meet her expectations.

Here's why no one should ever consider leasing from them: Shady Billing Practices: They forced tenants to share utilities, but the bills were NEVER transparent. I had no idea how they calculated what I owed, and they tried to charge us for utilities when the bill had credits on them. It felt like they were inflating costs to squeeze more money out of tenants. Greedy Rent Increases: When I asked to go month-to-month after my lease was up, they hiked my rent by an outrageous amount. It was a blatant money grab and showed how little they care about retaining good tenants. They resisted the same apartment for cheaper then when I moved out. If you're looking for a property management company that is dishonest, and solely motivated by greed, then Westland is perfect for you. Otherwise, spare yourself the stress and look elsewhere. Renting from them was a nightmare, and I would never recommend them to anyone!

I want to…read moremention some of the issues that one should look for prior to moving into the community. - The apartments here have severe moisture/mold & rust issues, which means that the windows and walls drip for no reason ( rains/no rains). Please make sure you look for signs behind white-washed walls. I was very frustrated with this issue during my stay as there was no fix and we had to leave our windows open in the dead of winter. - Upstairs noise nuisance- While this might not be the case in every apartment. Our upstairs neighbors would refuse to sleep until 4 am and was every tenant's worst nightmare. - Double-check before placing your security deposit - I had a conflict with the management for charging unnecessary utilities. The water charges in this community are insane. It was a monthly dilemma to pay the high utilities when your personal usage is close to nil. While I did not receive any response in my favor and was helpless for the crazy amount they withheld. I want to make sure you do not trust the management easily with your money & make sure you take all the documentation with you before moving. Would highly recommend getting it cleaned yourself to give another opportunity to the community to charge you $195 in cleaning and more. Apart from these issues, the community was safe & in close proximity to all utilities. I was very upset over the management's behavior during emergency maintenance when helplines would not work & when questioned about charges- they would call out any month of any year and make you pay by hook or crook.
