Such a cool company. They have the only site I've seen in L.A. that has a video for every single apartment on their site. I have no idea why other people don't do that. It's pretty helpful! I actually enjoyed cruising around on their site, looking at all the pictures & videos. They have automated systems that allow you to request to view any apartment instantly. When I requested to view each apartment, their system would immediately send me a text & an e-mail with the property address & viewing instructions. Nobody in L.A. has anything that even comes close. I found a great apartment through their site and their staff did a great job handling my application. I have no idea how someone could write a bad review for this free service. The only theory I have is that unqualified renters get their feelings hurt when they get turned down for an apartment they really like, and then they complain about it. Get over it, it happens! Lol, The staff at PL was really up-front with me that I needed to be well qualified to get approved. Apartment hunting in L.A. is a competition and intelligent people understand that. It's not uncommon for 3 or 4 people to apply for a great apartment. Luckily for me, I have good credit and a good job and no pets, so I locked down an awesome new place today! Update: I moved out around 2018 and forgot I had written a review. So here is the update. It was great the first year, but afterwards the walls started to warp. There must've been some leaky pipes behind the walls that they're refusing to fix. They patch up everything very mickey mouse. The apartment started to smell like mold. The entire unit looked like it was melting internally. The streets flood during rainy seasons. The water will go up to your knees. Going into your unit is impossible without getting wet. Anyway, upon moving out we noticed roached coming out from under the ground through holes, including bath tub, and toilet. The property guy Noe tried to blame me for the walls warping. Told me it was because of my portable AC unit. When I told him I'd like a fair assessment from the Housing Authority, he told me never mind it probably isn't my fault. I feel so terrible about whole experience. In fact, I noticed I was getting sick more frequently from breathing in all the mold. I just wanted to find a place near work. Now that I'm older, I wished I took legal actions against them for putting my health at risk. They also wrote me a very upsetting/mean email that I missed one of my monthly rent when in fact I paid them in advance and I had the receipt to prove it. Noe had it with him. I contacted management to request a viewing for a property that they have for rent in the San Gabriel Valley. Given these unprecedented time, I understand property owners and managers are cautious about viewings and often only do viewings if the tenant is sure and committed to the property. That is not the kind of precautions I was met with for a Pacific Listing property viewing. Instead of sending pictures or videos of the property, they ask possible tenants to request a viewing through their website and in an confirmation email to view the property on their own and to access the inside through a lockbox. This raised major concerns for me because there were not any sanitary precautions being taken for possible tenants who go to view the property on their own. With no property manager/owner present to showcase the property, not only are we unable to ask questions as we view the property but there is no insurance that the property is being properly sanitize in-between showings. I emailed the and raised my concerns. Their response was extremely underwhelming and disappointing. They choose to leave all trust to visitors to wear masks and gloves when viewing the property. They confirmed that there are no sanitary precautions being taken in between viewings. To add to that, they said that the last time the property was cleaned was when the owner put the property on the market. I find the way they are handling property viewings during a pandemic with Flu season upon us as extremely careless and unprofessional. Management should either provide videos/ pictures and full details of the property (square footage, if utilities and appliances are included, etc) on the listing or follow safety guidelines with in person viewings such as sanitizing the property, especially surfaces and door knobs, and practice social distancing and wearing masks. I was really hopeful of this property as I found it to be an ideal match for me and my roommates but with this method of viewings I can not say I will continue to look for listings through them as their lack of sanitary precautions and processes reflect the inconsideration the management has for possible tenants and their health. read more

Super, super bummed that my boyfriend and I found a place we loved after searching for a while but still haven't heard back from Pacific Listings or the woman who shows the property after two weeks. The process of getting info to contact someone to schedule a viewing is awesome. I love that you're able to fill out some info, and receive an email on who to contact in a very professional and organized way. BUT... we contacted Susan as per the email and didn't receive a response. We couldn't even leave a voicemail because her inbox was full. So I emailed Pacific Listings and they were helpful and replied within minutes. Called Susan again and got no answer. So I contacted Pacific Listings AND Susan via email to express how badly we wanted to view (and most likely rent) this property only to get no response. It really sucks that they lost two potential renters just because they didn't respond, and I'm sure we're not the only people who were unable to get ahold of someone to show the property as it's still up on the site. I'm not sure if Susan is directly employed by Pacific Listings, because it seems that all the other people who have shown properties via PL were great! Maybe we just got the bad egg? read more

My experience with Pacific Listings has been exceptional from start to finish. -Excellent web-site. -Cool 24-hour automated systems. -Video tours of the actual apartments. -Lots of pictures. -Fantastic staff. -Viewing the properties is easy. -Application process was fast. When I found an apartment I wanted to apply to rent, I really appreciated how their staff clearly emphasized just how important my credit & income was to the owner of that building. They don't like wasting anyone's time and I'm smart enough to know that it is a waste of time (and $) for someone with bad credit and less than adequate income to apply to rent an apartment from a landlord who is just gonna reject that application. Pacific Listings handles the leasing for a long list of landlords throughout L.A. and some landlords are pickier than others. The girls in their application department let me know that a 720+ credit score as well as verifiable income that was 3x's the monthly rent were necessary if I wanted to be approved for the apartment I wanted. My income is nearly 4x's the rental amount of the apartment and my credit is excellent so I felt confident enough to apply. I submitted all of the documents they requested and was approved within 24 hours! Pacific Listings is an advertising resource for property owners and they are really good at what they do. It's important for people to understand that. They drive a ton of traffic to each vacancy and that turns into a lot of people touring each vacancy each day which turns into several applications being submitted for each vacancy. The end result of their involvement is obviously clients who are afforded the luxury of being pretty darn picky when it comes to who they select as their new tenants. So if you're looking to rent an apartment through Pacific Listings my advice is to bring your "A-Game" and to move quickly. If you don't, well don't be surprised or upset if the apartment goes to someone who is better qualified and moved more quickly than you did. Pacific listings is a company you can trust for a solid selection of apartments in LA. My experience with them was seamless! I found an apartment I liked, scheduled a tour, applied, and voila - I move in this week! Website: *High-quality photos as well as video tours. *No fisheye lense photos here! In fact, the apartment I toured looked even bigger in person than in photos - which never happens. Tour: *Use their website to request a tour - from there they will provide you contact info for your tour guide. *I did my tour with Clay. He confirmed our appointment day-of, was on time and kept me updated on his arrival - all of which I really appreciated! *The only critique is that a few small details on the listing were incorrect or missing. Not a big deal, but I think it's important to provide people with full disclosure. Application: *They review your app BEFORE charging you the application fee. Game changer. Most apartments will charge you the fee regardless. Your application fee is also sent via Paypal. Another game changer - so many places make you send cash or money order (ain't nobody got time for that). *FYI: the process is application pretty intense. Expect them to call your current landlord and work to verify all the info on your app. They're looking for serious candidates. To address Alex's comments: I fully disclosed my situation when I called Pacific Listings (I called them at least three times), they did not mention anything about an in-state/out-of-state cosigner AT ALL. Maybe informing the people who man the phones about these policies would be helpful in the future of potential renters. Also after I received a weeklong run around from Jeff (who approves the applications), I was finally told me that won't accept ANY out of state co-signers. I thought it was my lucky day when I was able to find an in-state cosigner, HOWEVER I was completely ignored. I did receive an immediate response after posting this review. If you were only this attentive in the beginning. Please do not make it seem as if I did not do my research. The truth of the matter is you guys aren't as attentive as you portray yourselves. You never address the fact that you let my friend into an apartment without a realtor to show her around or answer questions. After Immediately writing a review outlining my experience with Pacific Listings (PL), I received notification from the owner stating "our (my fiancé and I) application was not approved. In addition, the owner took it upon himself to send me a slightly egregious email. I say slightly due to the fact the owner thought it was necessary to give a overview of both of our credit reports via Yelp message box. I was appalled that he would put both of our personal and (CONFIDENTIAL) credit report details in Yelp message box. Although Pacific Listings refunded our application fees, in an attempt to provide some sort of "customer satisfaction", they loss the remaining creditability we had for them, when the PL insisted that I remove the 1 STAR on Yelp. The fact that this company has all of our personal information (i.e. social security info, copy of driver license numbers) and didn't hesitate to put our personal (CONFIDENTIAL) information over yelp, baffled me. You can imagine my reaction TODAY when the owner decided to give an explanation for the 1 STAR review on Yelp. However, instead the owner reiterated what he said initially in a private message, but this time he gave out personal credit report details in the comment section of Yelp. I thought the purpose of Yelping is to "rate" your experience and so the owners can find ways of improvement. So today, Pacific Listings, you receive another 1 Star for your horrible customer service. read more

It provides a close-up look at every single listing that they have with a detailed video, high-quality pictures and information. Moving across country made it difficult searching for housing. I used my Westside Rentals subscription on a daily basis, as well as every single free site. It was frustrating to have units that had 1-2 low-quality pictures and minimal additional information. Most people thought it was ridiculous if I asked them for additional photos or a video. I just kept thinking, if I were to put a unit on the market, I'd use every single technological outlet to its potential. My new apartment is amazing. Thank you Pacific Listings! My preferences are extremely specific and my time is extremely limited. I travel quite a bit and am always busy with work when I'm in LA...not a great set of circumstances for someone looking for an incredible new apartment in West Hollywood. Spending full weekends going to Open Houses, communicating with sleazy low-level leasing agents, and checking keys out from property management companies to view apartments are things I dread. I've lived in LA my whole life, so I am all too familiar with the miserable process known as the LA Apartment Search. I didn't want to pay a fee to anyone...*I mean COME ON it's 2012, information should be free to the general public (Google, FaceBook, Wikipedia, Craigslist, etc). So I began my search by Googling "West Hollywood Apartments", and I saw a link to Pacific Listings. Love at first sight when I saw their home page! Their site is beautiful, each apartment has tons of pictures & the VIDEO TOURS are a dream come true. Within just 10 minutes on their site I was able to find 3 incredible apartments that were a good fit for me. I viewed the Video Tour for each, lined up a viewing for each of them for that same day, viewed all three by 5pm...and applied for my favorite one that evening. The guy handling my application was ridiculously committed to his job. I applied on a Saturday evening, so the majority of our communication took place that evening and on Sunday. I moved to LA from San Francisco and found myself obsessively concerned about rental scams. As I parsed thru sites like craigslist and Hotpads I found it increasingly difficult to figure out who was actually renting out each property. (As a matter of fact, I would encourage you to rent places just by going to leasing offices.) Anyway, being from outta town I had to use the world wide web, and found Pacific Listings. I did my homework and was able to breathe easy knowing I wasn't going to be giving a deposit and first months rent to someone who was on the first flight back to Syria. (Not that I'm saying the Syrian people as a whole are scammers, I'm not racist, I just picked a random country with government infrastructure issues). The application process was fairly straight forward, and once I was approved I even called PL to ask them to vouch for the management company haha. My experience with Pacific Listings and Jessica has been great. I was living in Hollywood for several years but my previous landlord raised my rent when the lease was about to expire and I started my apartment hunting process. My full-time job is Sourcing & Procurement, meaning I identify vendors for products/services that my corporate stakeholders want, then I find out who is the best fit qualitatively and quantitatively, and finally I negotiate the pricing. I started mirroring the same process in my apartment hunting process. I started with Craigslist, Padmapper, Westside Rentals, and Apartments but was unable to find any decent fit with my budget and basic needs. I wanted to have a big one/two bedrooms with a big enough living room so that I can install my video projector and project on one white wall. Also, I was planning to carry over all my furniture and that meant that I was looking for floor plans to suit my existing furniture setup. My biggest pain was that since I was working, I could only see places in evenings or weekends but that limited my choices. Then there were so many instances when I liked the postings and images but when I would go view the apartment in-person, it would be really old and the floor plan layout would not work with my requirements. There was no way to separate the postings that would work for me Vs the ones that wouldn't. Then one day one of my friends told me about Pacific Listings and when I checked their site, I was pleasantly surprised. They had a virtual video tour of all the listed properties on their site and now I could virtually see all the properties without scheduling the viewing or going to the apartments in person. All other metadata and information about the property were clearly mentioned. Other sites have images and some description but only videos give you the real feel of going through an apartment. This empowered me to rapidly go through the listings, see virtual tours of the properties, and shortlist the ones that fit my taste. Once I found few properties that were a fit with my needs, I called Jessica and she helped set up the viewing times for the units. She is awesome, responsive, knowledgeable and very friendly. She gave me details about what is good (and what's not so good) about the downselected properties. She really cares about what the renters want and recommends multiple apartments based on individual needs. With all that information and help, I focused my search and found the place of my dreams in three days. The best part was this apartment was at least 50% bigger than all other two bedroom apartments but the price was still low. They told me the reason for bigger space was that this unit belonged to the building owner in old days and he made it much bigger. The owner even had art installations in the house including a big tree on one of the walls which all my friends say great things about. In short, if it was not for Jessica and Kurt, I would have never been able to find that awesome apartment. They even helped me pay my security in two installments. I sent them my documents via email and they confirmed everything in less than a day. The whole team is very professional, quick, and organized. I would highly recommend them and Pacific listings to others who are looking for apartments. And I would definitely use their services when I go looking for my next house. read more

The shot a video tour of my exact apartment, and their staff was really helpful during the application process. I should have written a 5 star review then, but am just not getting around to it because just yesterday I ran into one of their photographers at my building. I was walking into my apartment and saw a girl photographing the apartment next to mine. I started chatting her up and she told me she worked for Pacific Listings. She was a smart, funny, cool chick! Coming from a person who has been completely yanked around by the shady LA market of property managements, it is completely refreshing to come across such an honest and professional company FINALLY! Unlike all of the property management companies I've dealt with, PL does not allow you to submit any payment for an application fee until you pass the preliminary screening test. That eliminates the company wasting your time and money and their efforts. AMAZING. I have not yet been approved for the apartment I submitted for so this is coming from a completely unbiased place. Bravo Pacific Listings! Everything about this company is exceptional. Everyone working there is super helpful. My L.A. apartment search started off super rocky, and Pacific Listings basically saved the day! Craigslist is kind of scary because it's full of scams. Individual owners I called don't seem to use e-mail or NEVER answer the phone or call you back! I called For Rent signs and dealt with a few other companies, and got really frustrated really fast. Then I found Pacific Listings' site and it was a total game-changer for me. The site: The site is awesome and it's free. The video tours are incredibly helpful. You can actually see all of the apartments ...like every inch of them online. The pictures are great...and they always have lots of them for every apartment.
