Economy Lumber, Oakland: May 2022…read more In my line of work, I deal with a number of businesses - one of them is Economy Lumber. I usually offer my real estate clients 2 or 3 companies to pick from. Recently, we purchased the lumber here for our personal project. Upon putting the structure up, we noticed that one of the largest beams have a visible crack. We had a lumber expert over to check - and was informed that the crack has been there for quite some time, and is not due to transporting or installing. Granted the beam is not carrying a load - the length of the beam may continue to crack and pose a danger to anyone who happen to sit or walk under it. I contacted Economy Lumber and spoke with their manager, Toby Warwick. Due to the distance (about 4-hour drive) between Economy Lumber and the location where the project's taking place, I decided to see if Economy Lumber would reimburse us for the cost of that one beam so we can get the issue fixed locally. Given the possible severity of our concern, he reached out to his higher-ups - and worked out two possible scenarios. It took several communications via phone, texts, and email... but, Toby came through. I opted for a reimbursement and received the cheque within a week. Toby's professionalism and understanding makes me confident to refer them to my clients. I am extremely pleased to work with them.

So I Rolled to Bay Bolt and I parked in their parking lot. I then Rolled In and waited patiently at the Front Counter!!! A Fastener Specialist came and asked if I had been helped? I explained that I needed a Replacement nut, washer and lock washer!!! He went out to my Vehicle and sized the Bolt and went and retrieved the nuts, washer and lock washer !!! We went out to my Vehicle to try the items out and they seem to be working fine!!! So I settled up and Rolled Out!!! Service was Friendly and Efficient!!! This is a Huge Warehouse loaded with Nuts and Bolts!!! Probably a Million type of Fastener's also !!!! If they don't have the Nuts and Bolts you want or the Fasteners!!! I don't know who would??? "Vintage" Winchester 120 bolts cost around $60-$80 online, which is absolutely insane. I got 4 of the same bolts for only $10 at Bay Bolts.

She retired, now her son and daughter are behind the counter. They're not nearly as competent as she was. Recently, I sent one of my artisans in with a sketch for a door eyebrow. The son got it wrong and consequently, the piece was fabricated incorrectly. He blamed it on my artisan, and refused to have it fabricated correctly without charging for the piece all over again. Bottom line, be really careful. He's made of Teflon. He'll charge you for his mistakes.

The work was excellent and everyone at YH was very pleasant. They created the piece quickly and delivered on time. To top it off, the piece was so complicated that it wasn't possible to draw it by hand. A computer image was necessary. Unfortunately this image left off the flanges that we needed. When I picked up the piece, the flanges were missing. YH apologized and within a day had added the flanges. The service deserved more than 5 stars.
