I hired Westmoreland Movers to pack a Uhaul in Irwin and unload the Uhaul in Green Tree. Jacob and Nick were my movers for the day and did a wonderful job overall. They looked at all the items that needed moved first, developed their strategy to efficiently load the Uhaul, and fit everything I owned with room to spare. They took great care in move and packing the items so there would be no damage, and all of my items arrived in Green Tree without damage. They were quick to unload the truck and worked well together as a team. I scheduled the service with Sam, the owner, who was responsive and knowledgeable. He was able to direct me to the proper size uHaul based on the items I was moving. I would hire this service again and highly recommend them for your next move! read more

I needed a large appliance moved to an upstairs room from my garage. Sam, Shawn and Shawn arrived promptly. I was concerned about damaging the stairs by dolley wheels, so they used shoulder dolleys and carried it up. Very professional, I would definitely recommend and use them again! read more

As another reviewer mentioned, these guys don't seem to want to work. I would not recommend them to anyone. I paid $216 for two movers for two hours. When they arrived, I asked them to move some things from the room i was moving furniture into (which I previously discussed on the phone and was told that would not be a problem, I had them for two hours for whatever I needed to be moved). Sam arrived with his "friend" and immediately started complaining and said he couldn't do what was asked in two hours. Luckily, my friend and her husband stopped by when the movers arrived (45 minutes late). My friend's husband unloaded the truck in 10 minutes while the two "movers" were in the house complaining. They kept saying that I could schedule additional movers for the next day. For another $200 dollars! With my friend's husband doing 80% of the work, everything got done in an hour. The bottom line is, they were expecting to show up and do 10 minutes worth of work for $216. I feel completely ripped off, and know that if my friend hadn't shown up, the move would not have happened and I would have been on the hook for $216 -- because these guys were basically refusing to do what they had agreed to on the phone. Sam kept trying to take everything apart, when it wasn't even necessary, as my friend's husband proved. The one thing he did manage to take apart (a chair that he dumped in a room and left unassembled). Now, I have to figure out how to put this chair back together. I moved from NYC where I had professional movers load my truck. They were awesome and I gave them each a $40 tip for just one hour of work. I had the same amount set aside for these guys. We confirmed twice w these movers that they would be at our house at 9 am. We rented the U-Haul at 7 n were ready to go. We were told that they would pack everything n charge us for the boxes. At 9 am 1 guy showed up. My husband showed him everything we needed moved. He said ok n sat in his car waiting for the other guys. No one showed. We called at 10 & 11. We finally got a text saying there would be 3 guys here by noon. At 11:50 1 guy showed up. The two of them went upstairs asked us if we had any boxes. I told them we were told they would be provided. The two guys went outside without a word. 15 minutes later we get a text saying they weren't moving us. The house was too dirty n the guys couldn't breathe bc of the smell. They claimed it said it had to be clean n sanitary in the confirmation email we got. I went back n looked for that email. It did not exist. I admit the house is in need of a good cleaning but part of that is bc we are moving n getting rid of stuff. It was mostly plastic bottles that our dog chews n we didn't get picked up n fur balls. A good pick up n vacuuming is what it needed. The only smell we can think of is maybe a dog smell. There is no open food ir anything else perishable anywhere n our dog did not have any accidents anywhere in the house but the kitchen n bathroom floor(which are vinyl tile). It was just an excuse from two guys who were unwilling to pack in move us like they were supposed to do. Because of them it cost us $100 for the U-Haul rental n almost $1000 more to hire other movers that put us 3 days behind our original schedule. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I hired Westmoreland Movers to load and unload a 15 foot Uhaul truck. The two men that were sent were Trevor and Shane. These two men were unstoppable, strong, fast, courteous and very pleasant! I was extremely pleased with their work ethic. Even with the challenges they faced, they did not complain or slow down. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them read more

Showed up late. Had only 2 guys. Scratched and damaged a bunch of nice furniture. Yes we had moving pads and furniture covered. All boxes were already packed. All they had to do was load. We had a Uhaul and 2 trucks. We needed a 2nd trip but they left without helping with the 2nd load and didn't offer to assist. Charged us extra even though they were the ones that showed up late and were understaffed. Left before the job was complete. Instead of making another trip they opted to try to "cram" as much as they could into the Uhaul. Would've been faster to just make another trip. We only moved about 10 miles. Giving 2 stars because they were courteous. read more

This company is not worth working with. They will cost you stress, your own effort, and undue time wasted. They communicate poorly and did not hold their appointments. The first day they were supposed to load a truck, however no one arrived for our appointment. After waiting to be called back, I was informed the movers were running late on a job and no other movers could make it to my job. The following day, after I personally loaded the truck, the movers did not show up on time for the appointment to unload. Again waiting to be contacted after leaving a message, I was texted to be informed no movers would be able to make my appointment. No prior notice or forewarning was given. read more

We have moved many times over the years. Our most recent experience with Westmoreland Movers was by far the best. They arrived on time to the minute, took no longer than the estimate, worked hard every moment, we're courteous and respectful. And the price was definitely right. Derek and Mike were wonderful. The movers themselves were very good. The job I needed was relatively easy as I was emptying two storage units of mostly boxed items, loading them into a rented U-Haul. There was a little snafu when the start time they were told and the start time I was told was a half-hour earlier, but once both movers showed up, they finished the job and packed the truck pretty quickly. After driving the truck 500 miles, there was very little shift of items within the truck. Reasonable price for the job, I'd hire them again. read more

Double whatever quote they give you. I've used movers in 3 separate states, same belongings, and always fast and efficient. Apparently these guys didn't have a good groove because the amount of time estimated which is all the time it should have taken, took double that amount of time so in the end when I paid the new rate, twice what I was quoted, the guy receiving my money electronically had the NERVE to wait until it went through and then text asking for "54 more dollars" because they didn't do the math correctly!! Already devastated to have given them so much extra (my single mom grocery money) I refused to pay any more. The movers were late, slow, took apart things I asked them not to, and crammed everything in to one room so that I had to tunnel my way through my living room. Other movers I have used had a system of team work down. These guys did not and it cost me hundreds of dollars extra. When I wrote a complaint to the company I never heard back. They literally took my money and ran and I was left feeling like a sucker and broke. read more

Westmoreland Movers did an awesome job packing our moving Pod for my 80+ year old mother in preparation for her move out of her long time home. I got rave reviews from her and my cousins about the crew that came out to do the packing. They were extremely efficient, super hard working and organized, and very friendly and personable. The guys were obviously motivated self starters that knew what they were doing. Thanks for a great job. I would not recommend this business to anyone!! They seemed in a hurry to be done and did not move all of my things. In fact, they told me that they were not able to get the bedroom furniture down my stairs. I was under the gun to get everything out of my house because the closing date for the sale of the house was set for the next day. Being on my own and dependent on them to move my things, I felt that I had no choice but to allow them to chop the furniture up into pieces! And that is exactly what they did. I first called them about a move from North Huntingdon to the Unity area and could not get ahold of them . My wife booked with someone else and then they called me back. The owner said that his wife just had a baby and that is why they had a slow response. I talked to him at length about his movers and his hourly price was higher than everyone else. He said he only hires the best and most experienced movers so I canceled the other guy and went with him. Big mistake! The crew showed up on time. Had me sign a contract with out giving me a copy. They worked hard but lacked experience on packing trucks. I used them because of what the owner said about experience . It was just a lie. I had a 75" tv, they broke the screen. China cabinet , broken glass. My dead brothers head board from his bed that I used in my spare room, cracked down the middle. Cherry tv stand , two big chunks out of it. I made two custom race car beds for my two sons, scratches and dings. When I asked the movers questions about themselves they all told me that they were subs and not employees. I also found out that one was there for " Beer money" and one was his second day there and had drug issues which he said that to my son in front of my 17 yr old daughter. Which comes to the insurance that he carries or lack of. He said it goes by the pound! Yes that's right , POUND! He gave me 200.00 dollars for the china cabinet. Nothing for my 75" 2200.00 Hundred Dollar TV or anything else. Also they broke two 4'x8' mirrors that were in my gym then left them behind. Total loss. Good job Westmoreland Movers! You damaged at least 4000.00 dollars in property and I payed you 750.00 dollars to do it. read more
