Their horrible! They dont stand behind their work. We had roof put on late 2016, it leaked in two different places last year. She said it was under warranty 10 years. They put nails where they should be and caulked flashing for the other leak. This year leaked in both places again. I was told it's not under warranty! hasn't been 10 years yet. She was beyond rude and the owner as well. Their answer was..things happen!! So I should expect every year to have leaks. Go elsewhere!! read more

I recently bought a house in Pittsburgh and it needed a lot of work. Wife and I decided that the 19 year old heating and ac unit where not efficient and there was also a crack in the heat exchanger. I called Schultheis Bros for an estimate. I got there name off of the trans website as an authorized installer. From beginning too end Schultheis Bros where professional and did an amazing job. The sales gal came wrote up an estimate and gave it to us on the spot. Wife and I said ok and about a few days later she came back with lead installer too check over everything too make sure everything was going to be ok for the instal. He decided we did not need as big a but heating int or as big a ac unit as our third floor is not vented. The installers where fast and friendly and did an amazing job. They worked very clean and did not leave any mess at all. I would definetly recommend the Schultheis Bros team for all your heating and cooling needs. read more

We've been Schultheis Brothers customers for about 40 years. In that time, my parents and us have installed new furnace / AC units in four different homes, two in Murrysville and two in Cranberry with Schultheis. There have been few problems and they were always easily corrected. One perplexing problem brought the techs out at midnight at least three times to try to figure why our furnace wouldn't fire on -10 degree nights - finally replacing a part under warranty to correct the problem. They are opening a showroom in Cranberry which is great news! Their prices are competitive with no extra charges for overnight work. read more

Schultheis Brothers does not stand by their work. They installed my roof - requested by me when I bought the property - and will not stand by the work now that there is an issue. Like true professionals, they hung up the phone on me just now. Use someone else - they're not interested in customer service. Here's a complete detail of the story: Our roof had a small problem that was discovered when we were selling our home. Our roof was installed by Schultheis when we were purchasing the home by the original owners. I was pleading for them to help me even though they were busy because as I said, "I'm sure they would like to stand by their work." They were looking for a way to make an exception until I received the "I gotcha" call. The operator was so pleased to tell me that the record on my home proved that my name was on the installation so the warranty was void and that I was bumped to the back of the list, which she already knew wasn't going to help me in anyway. When I asked her about her "I gotcha" tone, she hung up on me! She literally hung up the phone on a customer! Incredible! Save yourself a headache and avoid them for all services. read more

The woman I spoke with by phone (Lisa) provided me with inconsistent information that was different from what I understood the repair man who serviced my unit to say. When I tried to explain, she interrupted me repeatedly, became extremely disrespectful, mocking and laughing at me and then mocked the fact that my email has dr before my last name...like making fun of the fact that I'm educated... I'm a senior citizen but my memory is very good. There were at least two discrepancies between what she had told me and what the company's repair man told me. At this point, I told her that I might as well not have bothered with the service contract. She indicated that I had signed it... I told her "No, I wasn't even asked to sign it and, looking at it, there is no signature on my part. She indicated that because I included the fee in my payment, that I had agreed to it. I guess we'll be visiting the magistrate to get this resolved because I prefer communicating directly with the men doing the installation and repair work as opposed to dealing with a untrained female who assumes authority that she probably doesn't even have and uses relational aggression against senior citizens who question her, point out discrepancies, and ask her not to interrupt. I requested a transcript of our initial communication and also requested the name and number of the company's executive director and that's when she began laughing at me and at my request, mocking the dr before the name in my email! read more

Since Schulties Brothers responded to my review saying all of the issues with my Mitsubshi mini split were caused by my lack of maintenance I have had two well known HVAC companies look at my system. All I told them is that the system doesn't heat or cool to my expectations. Both companies had the same response, the indoor unit is indeed too high to function properly which I have complained about since the day it was installed. They both also said that lowering the unit won't really solve the problem as the 12,000 btu unit installed is woefully undersized for the size and needs of the room. One contractor is recommending a 24,000 btu outside unit and 2 12,000 indoor units, and the other a Mitsubshi Elite Diamond dealer is recommending a 30,000 btu outdoor unit and 2 15,000 btu indoor units. I am now looking at having to spend thousands of dollars to have the undersized unit replaced . Schulties Brothers may be a Mitsubshi Diamond dealer but in my case the diamond turned out to be just a piece of stone. read more

I got stuck on their phone menu with a never-ending "all of our associates are assisting other customers, please continue to hold" nonsense for 5 minutes. Terrible experience. The people my husband and I spoke with were extremely unprofessional and rude. My husband called them last Friday and left a message about our furnace. Did not hear back until he called again on Monday. He inquired about an appointment and the rude lady sternly told him that yes she is aware that there is a work order in and that the technician will call 20 minutes prior to when they arrive at the house. First of all they refused to give us an actual date as to when they would be there--what company does that??? We both work full time jobs and can't just stay home everyday in the hopes that they can fit us in? Also what company sets up a work order when they haven't actually spoken to the person. I called at 10:30 am on a saturday to get plumbing help for frozen pipes and was told they do not do any afterhours work and no one would be notified to call me back, let alone get a quote until the next business day. don't trust the 'open 24 hours a day' listed here. read more

Scheduled an appointment for someone to come out for some repairs to our siding and roof. We made the appointment two weeks in advance and rearranged our schedule so that we would be home. On the morning of the appointment, we get a call that they were cancelling because they "were not in the area that day". They also charge an up-front fee before any work is done. Great experience with them. We used them to replace our roof. They came out and gave us a quote in a timely fashion. We received 3 quotes in total, and they were not only the most affordable but also the easiest to get in touch with and the most responsive. Despite having a very busy schedule this fall, they were able to fit us in and get the roof done in 2 days just before bad weather started. Called for emergency service on a Saturday around 8 pm. (Our A/C unit wouldn't kick on.) I was called back by a technician within 5 minutes. He reworked his morning schedule to get out to us by 10:30 am the following day (Sunday). He inspected the A/C, replaced the broken part, and wrapped up within a half hour. I had an emergency furnace problem (it wouldn't turn on) and was in a scramble to find someone to come out immediately. I called around for some estimates and these guys a) answered and responded, and b) had someone out within 90 minutes. I thought because of the situation I'd hear some astronomical estimate, but they guy found it to be just a jammed exhaust pipe. Cost was minimal in a situation where I could have gotten taken. This review is in response to the great service I received from Schultheis Brothers. They not only provided the best price, but were also the most responsive of all three bidders. Rocco was very knowledgeable and honest, and was the only bidder to carefully examine the systems he would be replacing, as the original ducting and venting were to be reused. He discovered that the original exhaust vent on the upstairs attic system used an uncapped tee connector instead of a proper bend, and had been dumping carbon monoxide into the attic insulation under which the uncapped end was hidden. The two other bidders had totally missed this potentially deadly condition. I will be forever grateful to Rocco for his attention to details, and for his followup throughout the installation and after. Needless to say, it was this more than lowest price, that made it an easy decision to select Schultheis Brothers to provide my HVAC systems. The installation crews that came to install the two systems were also very friendly, courteous, and professional. This company is a total, complete scam. They came out to recharge my home A/C for $400. It stopped working again after a few days and I called back and they stated there is nothing they can do, there must be a small leak. I'm not an HVAC tech, but don't you think you might test for a leak before servicing the unit? Don't call them unless your a high roller gambler. read more
