I sent a message through Yelp and I got a response from Christina basically writing off my issue like she had it solved with my description of the problem I'm dealing with by saying I needed a dehumidifier. I then responded saying that I had a dehumidifier that I've been running 24/7 and it hasn't made a difference, and that I would like to have a service technician come out and see what the problem was with the condensation that's been accumulating on my ducting. My messages were left on read and I never heard anything back. This was on 9/8, it's now 9/18, and still haven't gotten a response. Absolutely pathetic customer service. Final Update: Just had my system installed and everything is working well, Justin was a pleasure to deal with, accommodating and professional. The original review below where things were not going well was due to an AI system that helps assist in scheduling, it is not working as intended, out of all the interactions that I had with it, after speaking with Justin, only a few got to him, or this issue would not have, well, been an issue. -- Original review below -- Had original service call back on July 31st, 2025, the original interaction was a call leading to message interactions with what I could assume was an automated system. After dealing with that system this was after opening of the business but before 9am. This conversation ended with an appointment that would be today and a time was going to be nailed down (soon) which did not happen I had to contact them again via message asking if the appointment as still going to happen, which was at 5:15pm at that point, they did show up and the gentleman that did so was pleasant and informative. Walked me through the issue and we discussed possible solutions. When the visit ended it was agreed that the service technician would contact his material source and see if they had a system that would be able to replace mine, and if so let me know the price of both the replacement and a cost of a part, which was option 2. I contacted the system once again the next day since not hearing from the technician, this was at 2:50pm Friday the next day, automated response was that they would get back to me with an update soon. I contacted the system again on the following Friday (giving ample time to research and provide information) this was now August 8th at 10:54am. The system asked for details of the visit, I provided such, was again given a response that an update would be offered. Once again, for the last time, I contacted this system again, this was now this past Friday August 15th at 8:30am and asked for an update, also stating this would be the last time that I would inquire of such. Now almost a week later, being today Thursday the 21st at 2:11pm and have not heard anything from the company Ultimately this is very disheartening as I enjoyed the engagement that was had with the technician but the lack of response, even if it would have been a "we can't do anything" it would have been better than no contact. UPDATE: As of this morning (8/22/25) due to Yelp reviews, contact has been made and we are back in the works for a visit and resolution to the issues. Will update the review further after actions have been taken. UPDATE: As of Monday 8/25/25 we have a scheduled date for the installation, hoping all goes well with the installation and the final interactions. read more

Wanted to drop a quick kudos for Justin of Precision. As a Yelp Elite, I rely on my fellow Yelpers for reliable reviews and direction when I need not only good places to eat but service of other kinds. Last evening the temperature in my house started to drop on one of these incredibly cold January nights we've been having, and my furnace was completely replaced just a few years ago. I called my regular HVAC guy but wasn't getting a response, so on Yelp advice tried Justin. Despite not knowing me and never servicing my home before he called very early this morning, even apologizing for not getting my message late last night, to see how he could help. My regular HVAC guy was just pulling in at the time so I no longer needed Justin's help - which turned out to be an incorrect wiring job by the original installer that tripped power to the furnace - but he was just as responsive as Yelp reviews led me to believe. We were in need of a new probably sooner than later. Went and got 3 estimates. One from our regular HVAC company , one from someone a friend knew and the last one from YELP (PRECISION). After looking at all 3 and talking to the tech from each company, I choose Precision. Our regular HVAC company was $2500 more than the other two and for several hundred dollars more PRECISION installed a 2 stage furnace over a single stage furnace and gave us an extra 2 years of paid labor charges. BACKGROUND: I had a refrigerant leak in my rental unit's air conditioner and decided it was time to replace the condenser, coil, and the 30yr old furnace. On the other side of the property was a second unit that only had central heating, but could be upgraded for air conditioning. WHY I HIRED THEM: Several companies came out to the property and gave estimates, and after negotiating the scope and price with each company; I decided to go with Precision Heating & Cooling. When Justin came to scope out the work, Justin was the only one to really stop talk with me about what I wanted done. He presented me with several brands of products that I could use, and explained the pros and cons of each choice. He also was the only person who was honest enough to tell me when what I wanted wasn't practical. I could tell that Justin knew what he was doing, and was personally invested in the work that was going to be done to improve my property. THE WORK: Justin and two helpers were able to complete the removal and replacement of the old furnace, the humidifier, and the leaking air-conditioning system in about 10 hours. I was very impressed with how neatly all of the wiring and drain lines were installed. They even went to the trouble of fitting the drain line with a brand new pump to ensure proper drainage. Several weeks went by before the components needed to install AC in the second apartment were shipped. I was getting frustrated and had some unpleasant conversations with Precision's admin about it. Their vendor kept giving untrue ETA's and it made scheduling a hassle for everyone. Eventually Justin took it upon himself to drive all the way to Cleveland, OH and pick up the unit himself! By the following weekend, Justin arrived with his two helpers and fitted the apartment with central air. As you can see in the photos, my walkway wraps all the way around the perimeter of the building, so the condenser had to be wall-mounted. The new electrical lines were run neatly and the hole was patched with mortar. The furnace ductwork was modified to fit a coil, and the drain line was fitted with a new pump. During the install, Justin noticed that the furnace exhaust line was rusted through. Without missing a beat, he replaced it, as well as the draft hood on my water heater! Who else will go the extra mile like that nowadays? OVERVIEW: I am extremely pleased with Justin and his quality of work. He and his workers are quick and courteous. As far as the labor is concerned, I give Precision 5-stars. I was a bit frustrated with some of my interactions with their back-office personnel and for the delays that occurred with their supplier, so my overall rating is 4 out of 5. With time I'm sure this company will grow and iron out the kinks. Justin was quick to respond and schedule a service call on a Sunday. Initially thought our original AC would need replaced. He and Troy assessed and patiently cleaned and charged our older unit. Knowing our second AC unit from our addition may need work, he assessed and turns out THAT unit will need replaced. He caught that the unit was frozen in the attic and tray was full of water. Had he not been so thorough and patient, that could have caused damage from water overflowing. Justin assessed as issue with drainage in our first system and helped to fix that. When we bought our current house, we knew that the furnace was at or near EOL, and that the AC dated to 1989 (!) but hoped to push out the expenditure a couple of years. When the furnace started switching itself off it was clear that we would be foolish to wait. I did the usual searching on Yelp and scheduled three outfits to come take a look-see. The first came and poked around at the furnace. When the tech took the cover off, his visual reaction was on the order of "Ugghh", which was justified. He replaced a contact, gave me a quote for an Amana brand replacement, and charged me the expected trip fee. He also reeked of cigarettes. The Amana factor was disappointing, cf. Consumer Reports' ratings for furnace brands. If I'm going to plunk down thousands for a vital mechanical system for my home, going with an inferior brand for little or no cost savings makes zero sense whatsoever. Justin was the second to come out. I did not initially tell him that the first outfit had been there (a scant half hour before!) so as to not bias the interaction. His first-blush reaction to the old furnace was as above , again fully justified. He poked around, noted that the blower had been replaced within the last few years, verified that it was overheating. Offered to adjust it to get some more life out of it, did not push me to replace. I told him that I recognized that it was EOL and that I was prepared to replace it, and we discussed what that would entail. He showed me how the humidifier was suboptimally sited, and suggested reworking the return duct so that the humidifier could be properly sited and to remedy the undersized inlet. I asked if it would be feasible to improve the existing flinky space for a 16x25x1 filter with a provision for a 4" filter, because I know from research that a 4" pleated filter affords a lot more airflow than a 1" filter, which means less frequent replacement and/or a higher MERV rating without unduly restricting flow. Note that I asked for that, Justin did not push it on me. He described how that could be worked in with the return duct improvements and worked a 4" filter. The new filter arrangement is far superior in that it fits snugly; air does not bypass the filter as the prior flinky drop-in filter slot allowed. Justin also spoke of replacing the flinky saddle valve for the humidifier's water supply with a proper fitting.. If you don't know what those are, it's a cheap way to puncture an existing water pipe, like one often sees bundled with a refrigerator with an ice maker, in the old school ethernet arena we'd call that a vampire tap. Having experienced an expensive leak in the past, I knew he was right, and I appreciated that he caught that. Most of all what sold me is that Justin uses American Standard equipment, which is made by Trane. Check out the CR ratings, Trane and AS are at the top. He checked his schedule and told me when he could do the work. He also suggested that replacing the AC at the same time would be best, given how it was set up and the age of the unit -- but he was willing to just do the furnace if I wanted. I already knew that to rig the existing AC to a new furnace would take some doing and that splitting the work would add up to a higher total cost, but it was really nice to see that Justin explained that without just trying to upsell me the AC, or the furnace model. I asked him about a two-stage model and we discussed pricing of SEER 14 vs 16; I went with 16 because efficiency makes sense. Justin and his helper showed up as scheduled and did fantastic work. He did not skimp in any way, setting up a proper pad for the new gear, improving duct / pipe routing, replacing the condenser drain hose, etc. All VERY neat and clean. I could not be more pleased with his work. When engaging professionals, be they doctors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, etc. one criterion I have is that they never try to bullshit me, and that they also recognize that I can discuss the technical details at a higher level than the average homeowner/patient. Justin did exactly that, unlike some tradespeople who in the past were condescending or just plain wrong. Oh I mentioned that I had arranged three outfits to take a look. After Justin came, I looked up the third and saw Amana / Payne on their web site. I cancelled their visit. Beware of the false economies of a vendor who lowballs you or cuts corners. It is best to select someone who provides a superior interaction, superior work, and superior equipment. Beware false economies. When they do not cost significantly more than less-appealing competitors, so much the better! read more
