The company is super responsive and made sure to confirm with me the day before my move. Very reasonable pricing overall. Provided discounts if applicable. Give them a shot. These folks are a bit off. I hired them to load a truck, provided furniture pads, didn't provide straps but did provide a bit of rope. I asked them to load and I did drive the truck to my out of state destination. I messaged the company just to let them know that I had a couple damaged pieces. Their guys didn't use the pads I provided them, whatever. Wasn't going to leave a review at all, just wanted them to know. Whoever answered got super defensive and pretty combative so here we are with the review. They keep letting me know they aren't liable for anything. Like cool, I'm not trying to get any money. Just letting you know, as a business owner, what went down. Incoming is a super defensive response saying I didn't provide furniture pads or whatever. I predicted the super defensive response! They are lying below. I had pads. 2 packs of pads in the back of the uhaul. I said there were more in the basement if they needed them. One of the guys definitely asked if I had an S.O., said something about my toes (weird) and some other stuff. I'm obviously not going to say something while by myself with them standing right there. I tried to keep this just between me and the owner but here we are slinging mud. Best to stay away, lots of drama. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They are unethical and belittle customers, they take no ownership, are fraudulent, and underinsured. They will also hand you a "contract" that they believe to be legally binding, however it will be handed to you last minute and you'll be told to sign or they will leave. My advice is to review how toxic the owners responses are, take a picture of the u-haul they rent's license plate, and request verification of their "insurance and bonded" paperwork. What you do after they damage your belongings is call u-haul. They will provide you with all of the information directly. You then file with YOUR local magistrate under a civil matter. THEY ARE REGISTERED OUT OF BUCKS COUNTY. They take possession of your belonging's which encumbrances their auto insurance policy. Its the law. U-haul will have that on file and easily hand it to you :) read more

I was very pleased with the service. 3 men showed up on time and were very polite and did everything the way I asked them to. They were very professional, hard working, and did not waste a second. They handled all of the fragile items with care, strapped everything down securely in the truck and made sure they covered everything that can be scratched or broken with thick blankets. All I wanted was a quote for moving. I only received an "I'm booked for this time" message from someone. I was never given a quote price or asked if there was any flexibility for a moving time/date. I want to say that, although this review took a while I was COMPLETELY satisfied with the help from everyone. They went above and beyond. I moved across town and needed help with large furniture and some miscellaneous things. They made sure the bigger items were taken apart and reassembled correctly once we got to our destination. They communicated with me beforehand as to when I could expect them. I'm not sure about anyone else experiences so regardless of any other reviews I like to see things through for myself and I'm glad with my decision to use J & S. read more

I'm updating this review because a year after leaving a review the owner wants to attack me saying that the person that helped us was special needs. And that wasn't the case at all. It was the boss's cousin. He was so unprofessional that he took his shirt off at one point in time. I wasn't going to put anyone on blast but now that the owner comes after me all is fair. And as you can see plenty of people have left 1 stars for how bad this company is. They helped us move out of my mother's house. The worked hard, were careful and took good care of our furniture.

Do yourself a favor and rent a U-haul. Singly one of the worst experiences of my life. The closing on my house was moved so I had little choice in a moving service (their availability on such short notice probably should have been a warning sign). I will do my best to keep this post as professional as possible and not remark to heavily on the lack of personal hygiene of the moving crew. While setting up the move they were very friendly, but when their team started making mistakes everything changed faster than the destruction of my dining room table. The team sent was 30 mins late, but as I only paid for the time they were there that was a not huge deal, but still unprofessional. Straight out of the gate, they broke an antique secretary while moving it out of my home. They also managed to put a bed frame through the screen on my front door as well as put a massive gash in 125yr floors that managed to survive up to that fateful day. They also refused to move any small boxes because they were 'just there to move things someone can't move on their own.' So even though they were paid, I still had to move two-thirds of my things on my own. They simply refused despite there being room on their truck. When they arrived at my new home, I helped them move the furniture in to help speed up the insultingly slow process. They were unsuccessful at bringing in box springs, left them outside and told me to 'buy smaller box springs because 'we ain't fighting these.' The last item to be brought into the house was a new refrigerator. The foreman of the team told the other two movers to wait until the front door was taken off the hinges so the refrigerator would fit. Both the foreman and I went to get the tools needed to take the door off its hinges. When we came back the other two movers had somehow wedged the refrigerator at a diagonal and on it's side in the door. The front was completely destroyed. Then when they finally had the appliance in the house, one of them stepped backwards onto the legs of my antique dining room table and snapped it. Of course, I was disappointed but was still professional and tipped each member of the team $100 each for their efforts. Before they left, I noted all the items that were damaged on the contract and had the foreman sign it. This is when the fun really started. I called the main office to ask for a claims form for the damages. They told me to email them pictures and they would take care of it. When I called the next day (three times) no one answered. When we called from an unknown number they answered immediately. The owner answered and when he figured out who we were he began to scream, at one point almost incoherently and told us in no uncertain terms that his team will lie in court and testify that I, one person, managed to wedge the 500lb refrigerator into my front door and that I moved the dining room table legs to trip them. I filed a complaint with American Express (not the first to do so, as I understand it) and they have been extremely helpful. I cannot stress this enough - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The guys came right out last minute for My family to help unload a 26 foot U-Haul these guys busted their butts after a long days of work already they showed up on time at 8 o'clock at night and worked until 11 only thing I would recommend is maybe investing in some more equipment to help move heavier furniture and bulky furniture would definitely use again with no Hesitation read more

No, I don't recommend this service. I recommend going to a more expensive service as the price will turn out the same because I had to ASK these movers to be more efficient and faster or else it would have taken SIX hours for a ONE BEDROOM ONE PERSON move if I hadn't stepped in and MOVED A THIRD OF MY STUFF MYSELF. And if you try to voice your feedback be prepared to receive the most unprofessional, rude, ignorant response (as you can also see here she responds to the reviews) and no apology for dissatisfaction of the service as all professional businesses should do as their first step. The initial call was pleasant and easy to schedule. This was a big move for us with two closings on the same day. They did not call to confirm, I called them. When they pulled up in a plain u-haul truck I was concerned. The fellas did work hard and fast. They had to get another truck, which would be fine if we weren't paying by the hour. They were there at 11 am and left at 8 pm. We were supposed to meet them at 2:30 for the unloading. At 3 I called and was told they were on their way. At 3:50 I got a call from my husband that they still weren't there and I called them again. To make a long story short, they left our house at 11pm. They broke a mirror during the process and just joked about the 7 years of bad luck. We noticed later that many things were scratched and chipped. This company had signs posted all over town. He was local and I wanted to support a local business. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. I would not recommend them and I would not use them again. read more

I'll start off by saying the two guys that were sent were hard workers. The company itself, especially the woman I had to deal with, was absolutely ignorant. A piece of my furniture was damaged and when I spoke to her, she accused of lying about requesting that my furniture originally be wrapped (which they did not show up with). I specifically asked prior to booking if the movers would have wrapping and was told that they would provide along with drop cloths, neither was provided. I signed the contract when they arrived, I also took a screen shot of the contract. After speaking with the woman regarding damages, I was given a specific amount that would be taken Off of my bill, in the meantime, the Contract I had signed disappeared and when I asked for my copy back, it was replaced with a completely different copy, (that I had not signed) with an extra amount written in for a "delivery fee". The amount was a completely different amount than the amount she had told me that was supposed to be on the original. I believe the guy was told to write in this amount to make up for the damages they were taking off the bill and he couldn't even do that correctly. Be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS if you're using this company and make sure to get a contract prior to the moving date. Do not leave any spaces blank as I did because they're sneaky and unprofessional. read more
