Movers were all very friendly and only two items were broken. They notified me right away. Most of…read moremy things were heavy so they did a great job on moving them in a timely manner. However, the movers were an hour late and showed up with an extra person than I was not originally quoted. Which is fine, if it doesn't change my quote, but what I was charged ended up being expodentially higher than what I anticipated based on the quote. Especially since I moved a majority of my items before they arrived. I had most of the items already ready and took apart and put together my bed itself. I even assisted helping move what I had left by loading the smaller items in my car. I moved most of the items before they even arrived so they had really only had the heavy/bigger items that I couldn't take myself. There were also 30 minutes I couldn't even find the movers, even after calling them. I had moved 6 minutes down the road but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive. I had driven back, double checked they got everything, locked everything up, came back to the new place, and still waited another 15 minutes. So they were off somewhere unknown to me. This also lowered my trust in their service. When I asked for an itemized receipt so I could double check how I was being charged, I never heard from them again. If you do decide to use this company, you should know that the quality is excellent because they take care in how your items are moved, their professionalism and communication is great but you may hear them complaining if items are heavy. I think the funniest comment I heard from them was "Everything is heavy Up in this Crib". I would recommend ensuring someone is there the entire time to ensure you track when they leave and when they arrive at the new location and have them itemize the receipt before sending you the bill. A vague receipt won't do to make sure you aren't overcharged.

The day before, a member of the company met me at the storage unit, and said I needed to do nothing. The next day, a 3-man team showed up within 15 minutes of the expected time, and within 2 hours everything was loaded onto the truck. Once the truck was weighed, I got a call that the move would cost me $700 less -- when does that happen? Eight days later, the truck, and the same crew arrived on a Saturday at 7:59 AM, one minute earlier than I had been told two days before. And within 3 hours everything was unloaded, a desk re-assembled, and many boxes of books and bookcases carried up stairs to the second floor. Never a complaining word; the team just did their job. I should mention that even the pins for the bookcases were removed and wrapped. Nothing was lost. I cannot recommend this company more highly -- and they are not restricted to the South Hills of Pittsburgh despite their name. They move nationwide. Setting up appointments was simple (and they were able to fit us in their schedule within 48 hours when one of our PODs was delivered late); the teams were all professional, friendly, and got everything in the house quickly and with care. Because I had to load in and unload on 2 separate days, Chad sent 2 different crews, one worse than the other. LOAD IN CREW (Not great): The load in crew came 2 hours late (blaming it on scheduling), without dolly, straps, or any tools (they borrowed an L key from my tool kit). During our initial conversation, I asked Chad if I need to rent a dolly, straps, etc. He said just furnipads. I rented 18, they used 6. As I write I am looking at the damaged leg of the dresser. The headrest from Poang Ikea chair vanished into thin air. As I unpack, I expect to see more damage. The load in was finished in 2 hours 15 minutes and the rest of the time was spent looking for straps and jamming stuff in. When I called Chad to complain about the way my stuff was handled, Chad's response was to threaten pulling his guys off the job. Because I was closing on the house next day, that was not the option. Regardless, I tipped the guys $40 each, because one has to be desperate to work for this company. UNLOAD DAY (Horror show): Eventhough this was the first job of the day, the crew was 45 min late. Granted, the management company goofed and scheduled 2 moves at the same time, but once again, Muscle Helpers crew showed up without a dolly or any tools. Instead of accessing situation, making a plan or offering solutions, 2 guys from Muscle "Helpers" proceeded unloading in a haphazard manner, using laundry baskets (!!!!) from every floor in the building, in lieu of dolly, dropping boxes wherever in my apartment and quitting after completing 1/2 job, because they felt "disrespected". How about respecting the customer who hired you, by showing up on time and prepared?!? Had Chad or Mike told me in the beginning they needed more time, I would have gladly booked additional time. Moreover, Chad, being "experienced" mover could have suggested extra time, instead of telling me that I would pay $3,000 for a professional movers. No Chad, I paid $25/hour more for a job done 50 times better by the company that finished my move the next day. I don't have to be a chef to know the food is crap, and I don't have to be a mover to know this company sucks!! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Local company with a tight-knit crew…read more Stumpf just helped me move my household items (including a grand piano) from Pittsburgh to Annapolis, MD. I chose them for several reasons: 1. They are experienced piano movers. 2. Their price is reasonable compared to other national services. 3. Their reviews looked good, and I know I can trust those reviews because they are likely about the people who will actually move my stuff, not some random crew. Overall, I am happy with the service. The estimate was accurate. The packing was efficient and professional. It took them about 6 hours to pack up about ten rooms' worth of stuff, and another 4 hours the next day to load the truck. They stored my stuff for me for two weeks while I waited for the new house. Then they arrived at the new place at 8am as they promised and unloaded everything and set up the piano. Throughout all this chaos, the only casualty was a (not particularly nice) ice tea pitcher. I was happy with their service and would recommend them without hesitation.
