When I first came here several years ago, I tried a few beers and really only liked one of them. The only reason I came here at the time was because of the proximity to the Frightmare compound across the way. However, in the last year, this place has completely turned around. The new Brewer is fantastic and is making some very well- crafted and tasty beers on their system here. Honestly, I don't think I've found one that is in a style that I prefer, that I don't care for. And there are some real gems on the menu. Lately I've been enjoying the sweet toffee notes on the Oogie boogie and I highly recommend it. I love this brewery, it's like our little hometown brewery that we hit up whenever we need a good beer. They are super dog friendly, our dog is welcome even inside on hot or cold days, and they provide water bowls. They usually have a food truck out front on weekends, but you can also order pizzas at the bar if you get snacky. The atmosphere is simple but they have a nice little patio outside and the garage doors are open when the weather is nice. Will definitely be back many times. read more

Excellent and unique beers and seltzers. Nathan is very friendly and knowledgeable. He is a brewer and was tending bar when we came in on a Saturday evening. It's a very chill, relaxing atmosphere and is dog friendly. They have multiple award winning beers. The pearadise seltzer is awesome and the sleigh ride ale is sugar cookie flavor for the holidays. My husband really enjoyed the Fer Fek Sakes Irish red. It is a gold medal winner at the 2023 Denver International Beer Competition. We will definitely be back! read more

Having this spot around the corner from my work is both amazing and dangerous. I love coming by on a random weekday to unwind and do a little reading. I'm an IPA gal and haven't tried one I've disliked. Perhaps I'll deviate someday. Bartenders are always very friendly, as are the doggos I've had the pleasure of petting. I came here for the first time the last weekend in December for the Gourmet Ghost Charcuterie Board Class. The whole experience blew me away! I'm not a huge beer fan since gluten and I don't really get along well, but I saw they had a strawberry beer, so I had to give it a go since it was free with my class. It was incredibly flavorful and smooth. The vibe at the brewery is also really good too. It's very lowkey, plus it's tucked away in a shopping area people probably don't even realize exisits unless they spend time at the Frightmare Compound. The Gourmet Ghost Charcuterie Board Making Class was so much fun. I highly recommend it. You will get so much value out of the experience. Adam led the class and talked us through the techniques for making affordable, beautiful boards. By the end I felt confident making tomato/cucumber flowers, strawberry roses, strawberry fans, meat roses, and creative displays of cheese. I was so shocked by how professionally my mom and my boards looked by the end. I cannot wait to come back and do some of the other charcuterie classes since they're themed around holidays for things like Valentine's Day, Halloween, and Christmas. Also, the types of cheeses were exceptional. I got to experience so many that I had never tried before which was such a treat. It made my NYE so much more exciting to have a homemade board to snack on while watching the ball drop! read more

This place has my favorite name for a beer... Fer Fek Sake. While I didn't order the Fer Fek Sake, I did get the hefeweizen. Once Emily and I learned that Sammy's boyfriend was going to pick her up from work, we took that advantage to go back out and visit a few more breweries as we had about 90 minutes to kill. Westminster Brewing feels more like a bar than a brewing company but that's not a bad thing. The interior was really nice and clean and the bartender was pleasant and attentive. There was a couple (?) sitting next to us at the bar and they seemed pleasant and nice at first but as the minutes ticked by, they ended up getting a bit weird and the guy got a bit heated about something for a minute or two. I tend to tune out other people's conversations while in public so I have no idea what was going on besides the girl asking Emily about who had the better beard. Anyways, we drank our beer and it was just as good as the hefeweizen I had at Upslope Brewing. The hints of bananas and clove were hiding in the background without overpowering the drink as a whole. Emily got something fruity (as she usually does) and it was delicious from the sip I had. She usually gets a random fruity drink so it's hard to remember what she gets exactly. Went here on 10/8/23. First time here in a very long time. Like 2015, long time. Met some friends there. Very open inside. The day we went they only had one dark beer. We tried everything. After a beautiful drive through the mountains today, my wife with our pup wanted to stop by and get a drink. A big plus for us, not having to go home to drop our dog off. Walking in was nice and relaxing no loud music an inviting bar tender, a few of the locals carrying on. We noticed the flyers for trivia night, bingo nights, and even charcuterie classes!. So much to make a person want to come back and enjoy the community in as much as the delicious beers. I had a malty Irish Red beer that was perfect, crisp and bold but slightly sweet end. Wow- this place transformed 100%! The last time we came here was about 4+ years ago and it was awful. Since then, they've closed, changed owners, and got a new brewer (I'm guessing) because their brews are so much better. This is my go to place when I want to work outside of home or just grab a beer. A couple of my favorite things about Westminster Brewery: (a) they're super close to us, (b) it's a family affair, (c) the bartenders / staff are really cool and interested in getting to know you (really), (d) Josh Blackburn live on the first Saturday of every month (he's incredibly good!) and (e) they're always experimenting with different brews and introducing cool new beers to us... Went here with some friend last for a Friends, so I think some things were skewed by the event. For example, the place was packed to the point that there was no where to sit, but I doubt that's the case on an average night. The space was fine, not particularly warm or interesting, but it was clean and comfortable. We tend to like the lighter, fruitier beers, so the Fuzz Face with peach flavor was a favorite. Veruca Sour was the other one that we enjoyed. I more remember the flavor profile, the bartender called it cherry and chocolate. Whatever the name was, that beer delivered on those big flavors and was super tasty! Besides those stand outs, the other beers were fairly run of the mill, but all it takes is a couple of stand out drinks and a fun trivia night to make it worth the trivia. read more

I really wanted to like this place since I live in Westminster and I love to support local breweries but if I could give it a 2.5 I would. This was my 159th Colorado Brewery I have visited. I always order a flight so that I'm just not ordering 1 beer to judge how their beers are and I'm sad to say I left most of them at least 1/2 way full. First of all our beertender was not very friendly or welcoming which started the vibe off not on a good start. For it being Sunday funday there were about 3-5 other customers here which is pretty slow for a brewery on Sundays. The inside space is pretty large and probably could accommodate around 50-75 people and they had board games to play. I ordered the Quetzal IPA, Sloth Pale Ale, Olde Moses on Cask, 1066 English Bitter, and the Veruca Sour. The 1066 English Bitter was my favorite out of all of them. The IPA was a bit too malty, the Sloth Pale Ale was 9.1%ABV which is very high for a Pale Ale and it didn't taste very well at all. The Veruca Sour was a tad bit of a vinegar taste and the cherry tasted like candy which didn't work or help this beer. My least favorite was the Olde Moses on Cask which is a chocolate porter which was very watery and too much was going on and it didn't mix well. I would suggest for this business to focus on really good quality beer so that people visit and want to come back. Hire employees who love your beer and want to work for you. I have lived in Westminster for almost 2 years - why have I never heard of you or seen your beer on other taps in westy? I hate writing these types of reviews but I only write them in an effort to help especially when breweries are closing left and right. read more

As with the first reviewer, time... it is tough to rate new places, this one, only open a few weeks. I posted several pictures. The layout was really nice, with a separate room for parties, and though there were TVs, muted. The owner/bar tender hung out at the end of the bar with some friends, never engaging me in conversation save for a "need anything else" comment as my tasters were drained. The beer. As mentioned in other reviews, I am from Denver, where there are some 26 craft breweries within the city limits. The standard is thus set pretty high in my book, and a place must have EXCEPTIONAL beer for it to become a destination. WBC simply does not, not yet, so I expect it will appeal to the local community. That is fine, and I wish them well. On to beer specifics... The naming, first of all, is it supposed to have a religious slant? The 12 Apostles, I get the Disciples reference, but in a German Ale, which I am not even sure what that style is. It was really uninteresting. Shiva, an "EPA" with a Hindu reference. English Pale Ale, again, not sure how Hindu plays into it, as the beer was an average example of the style. Then we jump to simply "Irish Ale" which was actually pretty good. Back to the Bible, with "Moses" - - a chocolate porter - a pretty good version, my favorite of the bunch, and with many breweries are doing Stouts, a good porter is hard to find. Keep brewing this one, but please, explain the biblical reference, as I cannot find any that tie Moses with beer. 1066, which as an English Bitter must refer to the conquest of England touched off by a battle in that year. Interesting, and the beer was drinkable. The last, American Pale, no funky name. It was a good pale, but not something I would go out of my way for. So.... how to end this. .. As stated above, way early on to do a proper review. If WBC intends on catering to the local population they have their work cut out for them, with the very pedestrian BJ's and Rock Bottom only a stone's throw away, and Big Choice within a couple of minutes. If they want to become a destination brewery, one that people go out of their way to visit, then they must up the quality interest, and intensity of the beers. That, and either go with a religious theme or loose the awkward naming conventions altogether. read more

I'm gazing at a 3-legged dog while writing this. That, coupled with the draught menu stylised with chalk images of Adventure Time characters, are the most endearing and interesting things about this establishment. The walls are adorned with water color paintings of nature scenes and elk; including a picture of what appears to be an old white guy with a musket, wearing a wolf pelt on his head. Am I high? Is he looking at me? The clientele appears to consist of a mix of old people, and obese people in orange jerseys. There is a football game playing on both of the tv's. Is this a VFW? I thanked the nearest "orange" for his service, and he looked at me like I was an idiot. So, perhaps not a VFW. The beer has improved, since my prior two visits. It's decent, better than the swill I brew at home, but not quite on par with some of its local competitors. No, wait. I should finish trying the beers before writing this review. Did the old guy in the wolf hat just wave at me? The Black IPA (Creeping Cain) is solid, smooth, like the arm of the pretty lady next to me. What? Oh, apparently her husband would like me to stop. The Robust Cedar Porter (Coffin Cartel) is interesting. Multiple layers of flavor. Do we call that complexity? I sure would like to see some boobs. I like boobs.
