SOLID. Pretty much top to bottom solid as far as I can tell on their beers. Only one beer (Imperial Stout) with high ABV's on tap right now but a lot of very sessionable beers up in here. One of my teammates from improv had told me that the beer here was pretty good, I was in town from Honolulu for a few days and decided to meet up with some of my cousins and friends from college at WBC. We begin our journey... The Building - First, once you're in sight of the building there is a great looking logo that makes it very clear on where to go for beer. Its a nice big lot and the parking spaces are wide (every parking space in Colorado is wide compared to Hawaii). The Outside - It's a very nice storefront... or would it be a brewfront...so the brewfront is very nice, it's a converted warehouse so there is a dock door they open to have a small outside area to sit at on a nice warm summer evening, the haunted house across the street means you have a nice view without all these new structures that look like they were designed by architects who didn't get to play with Legos as kids and can now afford to buy boxes and boxes (for work)... "Bob I cant find the flat piece for the top! Forget it, I'll just design it with 4 small chimneys on that square corner" The Inside - Very nice tables and chairs, nice wide chairs for people who drink lots of beer and have had their pants size increase a bit, so I was sitting in a chair and my new 38" pants... I liked the tables, they were very clean and non-wobbly. I didn't notice right away but there is some art for sale on the walls in the side room. There are a few TVs on that have the requisite sports on, you can see part of the brew room and tanks through big glass windows, it adds a very nice touch. The walls are not heavily decorated and lots of windows, it's a very clean, open feel, which is a nice change from sticky dark floors and walls at other places. The Service - Greeted by the bartender within a few seconds of entering, greeted as in he looked me in the eyes from across the brewery smiled and said hello. Then said it to my cousin. A great sign of somebody paying attention to their guests. It wasn't super crowded, but it was a good crowd for a Monday evening. Seemed like everybody was smiling and talking story. We were going to have about nine coming so we went to the backroom. I didn't ask if I could move the tables, but right away the bartender and bar backer were next to us helping move 3 tables together. The bartender's name is Paul, he is one of the owners, super nice guy, very friendly and knows his beers. Since it was my first time he suggested getting a flight to find out what I would like of their brews. The flight was 5 beers in 4oz tasters. Cain, Moses, New Pale, Irish, and 1066. Paul apologized for being out of 12 Apostles, which is apparently is their most popular beer that a fresh batch was going to be ready this week I think, guess I'll have to come back to Colorado again. The Beers - First, most beers come with the option of tap or cask. Get the cask if you like your beer flavor to be strong. It makes it taste so good, mmmmm cask beer. The flights are all tap though. So find the one you like and get a full size beer. The full size beers are Imperial Pints, which are bigger than regular pints, WIN! - Cain - The Black IPA, very interesting, strong flavor, nice balance of dark and hoppy. I've never had a black IPA, I now like Black IPA, thank you Paul. Cask really brings some new flavor to it! - Moses - The Chocolate Porter, I don't really like flavored beers, I had a bad experience and have flashbacks. This one had a hint of coffee to me which was interesting. While it is a type of beer I don't get very often, it was interesting, I would drink it again. - New Pale - Summer Seasonal, super smooth and nice kind of light flavor. Captures 7pm very well. I would highly recommend this one, 2 of them. - Irish - Iris Red Ale, it's a very dark red, if it is red. The taste has the lightness of a red with the flavor of a drought, so you can drink more. It's quite delightful, I had a big glass. I was talking a lot so it warmed up, made it even better. I say an Irish beer is made correctly if it tastes better as it warms to room temperature. - 1066 - The English Bitter, this beer is good, I normally steer away from bitter types but it was really good. It has a bite to it but it's not offensive, its more sarcastic and funny, a great combination. I got this off the tap because I wasn't sure about the cask flavor with a type of beer I don't usually get. Next time I'll try the cask. The Popcorn - No food other than popcorn. Paul said that on weekends there is usually a food truck there to provide food. The popcorn is good, it's popcorn, who doesn't like popcorn? I may send them some crazy Hawaiian style toppings because a few would pair well with the beer. Seriously how cool would that be? Shipping address needed. The Verdict - No hangover today. This is one of my favorite new, local breweries to open up. Their beers are well balanced and much to my enjoyment there aren't a lot of hopp-licious beers. A couple of their beers are hoppy, but nothing over the top. You can still enjoy the rest of the beer. Try out the flight if you're not sure what you want or order a 1/2 pint of anything - including their cask beers. There's a large bar for seating and viewing a game on the TV or several other tables suitable for groups. There's no food on site except for some popcorn for snacking, but there are menus available for ordering from other local restaurants in the area. Because Westminster Brewing is not located next to any restaurants, I'd advise having a snack before you arrive. Considering this spot is directly across from Frightmare I expect it to be getting some crazy business during Halloween :) read more

Excellent place! All the beers were exceptional. One of the owners was working the bar and he treated us like family. We will be returning many more times. Biked there 3 miles from home and it's a gorgeous ride. They have a nice bike rack which is in plain view of the entire inside of the brewery. The best thing is that they offer 8oz beers so you can try twice as many and still have a hope of getting home without a DUI. Check their calendar as they have plenty of entertainment happening nearly nightly. Inside is really nice and new so no sticky bar floors that smell like beer that was spilled some time around last month. Dont delay! During our night in Denver my boyfriend and I decided to try a couple of the breweries near our hotel. I'm glad we chose Westminster Brewing! The staff is polite and extremely helpful, especially for those of us that don't drink a lot of beer. The atmosphere was cozy and clean. They had a band playing while we were there - it was folk music and really good. They have free popcorn available and food trucks occasionally. I would highly recommend. read more

Excellent brewery. I've never been disappointed with their beers. It's one of the ones I go to regularly. Highly recommend the Shiva (IPA) or the 12 Apostles (German style ale). The boy child loves their root beer, however they are sometimes out. Bummer. The staff and owners here are very friendly and engage with all customers. I've been here quite a few times. The live music and TVs for sports is a great touch. Also, you can almost always find a food truck outside to satisfy your munchies. Now to the beer. I've been to a lot of the local craft breweries in the area and I would rate this place as very good. The beers themselves are what you would expect, and I think that's my only gripe. With so many options around, you really have to give the people something spectacular that they've never seen or perfect a type of beer that can only be found at your establishment. Don't get me wrong, their beer is very good. Its just not 5-star great in my very humble opinion. I put beers from places like Big Choice or 4 Noses ahead of this only because they tend to create beers that are unique and have a type of beer that is absolutely amazing when compared to everyone else. Westminster makes good beer, but its beer that I equate to something I can get anywhere else. I'll always be a fan and I will continue to patronize them because I love supporting local breweries. I just hope they get a bit creative and start thinking outside the box a bit. read more

Cask ale in Colorado is rare and these guys do it right! Four delicious casks to choose and another half dozen on tap. They even westernize it and chill it to 45 degrees, so it's not exactly room temperature. WBC didn't get 5 stars only because the lighting is too bright and there isn't a patio, and they have single occupant restrooms, a very annoying trend in local breweries. The prices are a bit higher than the others, but worth it IMO. I will be back many, many times. read more

Stopped in to knock another brewery off of my list. Pretty good selection 7 beers ranging from a German ale, Irish ale, wheat, stout, pale, and IPA's. They also have 4 cast ales- Irish, Moses, pale, 1066- hand pumped cask versions of their beers The bartenders are very friendly, and the beer is very good. This is a very good brewery, and finally that there is one in this suburb of Denver. The beer selection is very diverse with German, American, and English style ales all of which are good. My favorites were the Irish Ale and Chocolate Porter. In addition there are 4 casks which is a great serving technique for beer, and one that will allow guests to try horizontal pairings. The service was friendly, tap room well lit with great scenery. Although this is outside of Denver and a bit of a drive, it is totally worth it, and a place that will become extremely popular in time. read more

Westminster Brewing Company surprised me by having pretty good beer but also underwhelmed me with its atmosphere. I ordered the Cain Black IPA and thought it was really well done. A beautifully dark color and almost stout like but with lots of the hoppiness I love in a beer. I also tasted my husband's Envy, an Imperial Double IPA and thought it was very good! I am def. a fan, but I can't say it's as good as it get's just yet because I'm not all that familiar with Brewing company and beer in general. I do have to say though that Customer service, friendliness and welcoming personality of the bartenders are 5 STAR! for sure! So this place is fairly new and who would've though right here in the subs area next to a swimming center a Brewery would open? It's like a 5 minute walk, 2 minute fast jog or 1 minute bike ride from my house. We live in a small commununity of maybe 150 homes and this place is perfect for us. Instead of drinking at home, I figure get a bit exercise and hubby can watch the game here so we walked, easy peasy. I've been meaning to try this place out, just because I usually see a food truck in front of this place and I'm all about FTrucks for sure! Well hubs and I sat at the bar and for a sat game night I was surprised it wasn't jammed packed? It was though kind of full except bar area. We got a sampler and I have to say I can only remember my fav. of them was the 12 Apostle. They didn't have anything like tomato based so I couldn't get a bloody mary like beer, but I did bring my own Limon salt with me. lol I put it on my had and licked it like a shot before drinking beer, than we got a pint of the 12 Apostle and I put my salt in there. Then the bartender guy let us sample the Watermelon beer.. OMG! That really Blew me away! The girl bartender originally recommended it, but for some reason I was thinking it would be sweet, like how those fufu hard liquor drinks like Mai Tai's are. And I don't do sweet. But it was just a hint of watermelon, not sweet, but Just right and Perfecto! Next time I'm jumping all over that with a pint or more. Then we sampled the Cuban or Cubano? either or, it didn't float my boat taste buds and tasted like cigar! Yuck! So I guess I don't like dark Beer whatsoever, but I can handle light. I did ofcourse have me wine earlier in the day after finishing my medical project for school, so I was able to fully appreciate the beer tasted, instead of getting tipsy or drunk. We were told that next door in a month or so, will open a distillery which is Perfect for moi! Cuz I like wine or hard liquor and then hubby can just drink his beer here. I'm looking forward to this place being our neighborhood hang out and the good thing is, we didn't see anyone we knew here. lol It was like people who don't live in our housing area, mind you where I live is more of a retirement area because I'm one of the youngest and everyone is over 50+ and there really aren't many young kids here, most of them are in college or finishing it up. I really do like this new addition near our place, especially that it's within walking distance! Oh and it was under $20! We have never spend less than 50 when going out to drink and not have anything to eat, but then again my shot drinks are usually about 10 bucks a piece and more than beer. :-) I'm thinking I may just start drinking beer, since I've read it's actually healthy and good for my blood type. lol I like using that as an excuse to drink. ;-) read more

one of my go to craft brewers because of the awesome staff, beers and some how everyone that's in there is really cool to chat with as if there was some type of magical force that blocks out all negative emotions. as for the beer I've become more of a Belgium style and sour beer drinker but this place has not made a beer I'm not a fan of, most of the time I get the flights because I enjoy them all that much! They even offer most of them in cask pours... not my style but they have it lol a couple of tv's in there with the games on so that too keeps me happy! One of the master brewers is very knowledgeable too and the staff is a respectful group of people that will not engage in any of the banter going on about the other brewery's in the area read more

The young lady who served us was very nice. She was overwhelmed by equipment failures, rude locals, and just too many people for one person to handle. She was very nice to us and gracious about things. No comp'ed beers or anything free but she was very nice to us. Because of their equipment failures and related problems, we couldn't sample several items we wanted to try. We couldn't even get a full flight. We settled for a glass of what was working. No food truck that day- Guess the vendor had a better place to go? The music started about 45 minutes late. Not bad music. No loss of stars for it. I am an animal lover, but my limit was reached when a couple brought their shedding, rambunctious lab' and let him loose to rub against me, lick my leg, etc. There's a limit, ya' know? That was beyond the limit. To see the flying fur in a floating haze was clearly beyond my limit. I hear they have really good beer, and maybe one day I'll return to try it. But there's GOT to be a way to strike a balance between letting animals have free run of the joint and allowing the humans who pay cash money to sit and enjoy a new beer. read more

Stopped in for a beer while my girlfriend played hockey in Westminster. They allow dogs which is always a plus. We came in on a Sunday so it wasn't super busy, however it had a nice feel to it. The beers were a little on the pricier side at $6 but that did get you a proper pint instead of just 16 oz. Their beer was decent, but wasn't my favorite. I woudn't mind going again, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to stop there, it definitely had the feel of a local's join through. read more
