I came in for a gel x fill and the part that I hate most is the electric shaving, but Holly did an excellent job and I never once flinched or felt too much heat. Westie Nails is no joke the BEST nail place I have ever been to in my life! I live down in the Spring Valley area. However when I am in Escondido dogsitting for my Aunt I always make it a point to come here! They treat you like a Princess from the second you enter the door! The owner is on it and makes sure that everyone is comfortable. They hand you books to choose your color and ask if you want coffee, water, tea or anything else. They even remembered me from months ago! The only place to ever do my cuticles right and cut my toes right. I will never stop raving about Westie Nails and I really wish I lived closer. Also the tv shows are a plus as a dog person my guilty pleasure is watching Lucky Dog while I get pampered! Everyone here is so friendly and the atmosphere lifts me up every time I come here! I came here because of the reviews on Google and on yelp. I really needed a pedicure and a manicure, I came in at around 5 PM and was sat down immediately. The Pedicure was OK. I got my manicure done by a different lady. I didn't get her name but it seemed like she may be the owner. She was a short older lady.. The manicure was extremely rushed. It was 6:20 and they proceeded to take in more clients when there was other girls waiting for a pedicure... while doing my manicure, since she was rushing, She accidentally put gel on my arm and I asked her to clean it before putting it into the UV light she said after. Point is she BUFFED my arm to remove the gel when she could've just wiped it off when I first asked. The hand massage was literally less than a minute. I understand that they want to make money and get people in but you're also losing clients when things like this happen.. First and last time I come here. read more

I found my new nail place! Westie took over the previous place about 3 months ago. I was nearby and randomly searched for a nail salon on Maps so that I could get a set of nails/gel off that I had gotten for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. To preface, I rarely ever get my nails done because I never have great experiences - since my nails are extremely thin (I can literally bend them in half), so every time a salon has drilled to take off gel, it literally burns through my nails and is painful. I mentioned this to the folks at Westie, and they were able to remove my hard gel set, and a manicure after - and I had ZERO pain (thanks, Q!)! :) They were very careful not to hurt me. On top of that, I was greeted as soon as I walked in, there was a little wait, but they offered me a massage chair and bottled water while I waited (and they have A/C, so I honestly I could have sat there all day waiting and been fine because I was relaxed) :) I will definitely be back :) read more

Stopped into Westie Nails today with my daughter as our regular salon was booked. I was so impressed at the level of customer service and quality of work. We both got fills and spa pedicures. The pedicure was very thorough and the technicians asked pertinent questions to make sure it was exactly how we wanted. Q and Mai did our nails and they recommended things that our regular salon never mentioned. They also have great personalities! Overall, the service was the best we've received in a very long time. I was very excited to find this business last Monday. The ladies were super nice when I went in. Customer service wise they were great! However, the next day my nails started chipping and my pinky nail chipped and was so thin and weak I had to cut it off. I wrote a review because I was so disappointed a day after a manicure to have this happening. I felt I wasted $100 plus tip to have my nails done only to have them start to look terrible the next day. That doesn't even happen after 2 weeks for me with most gel manicures. The owner called me to apologize and offered to fix it. Although unhappy, I know things happen and I agreed to give a second chance to the business but I work 6 days a week and said I could not get in until this coming Monday. I pulled down my review BUT then I got so upset after I realized that my nails had scratches all over them and when the gel continued chipping off all my nails, my nails were thin and weak underneath. I realized this was because the lady that was trying to help out the manicurist was filing off my old gel polish with a coarse file instead of soaking and using the drill and she scratched the heck out of my nails causing huge, deep scratches. She destroyed my natural nails that took me months to grow out. :( Not only will I not be giving this place a second chance but I was so upset that I had to cut my nails off due to them being weak, scratched and destroyed. My once beautiful nails look so bad now. I am super sad this happened. Hopefully, this business will be more conscious of the way they do things moving forward so that others do not have a bad experience as I have. read more

Mixed review to give. I love the upgrades in the salon--great massage chairs, drinks offered, etc. and my manicures (I've had two there done by an exceptional male manicurist) have been gorgeous and lasted weeks without even a single chip. Unfortunately, I believe there is an overzealous female pedicurist. Similar to another reviewer, my cuticle was cut so far back on my toe, it was painful and bleeding. Sure enough, my toe got infected within a couple days (the first time in my life this has happened). I couldn't wear close-toed shoes for three weeks, had to go to the Dr, take antibiotics, and soak my foot 4x per day. As of today, it is finally healed. I will be back, but will request a different pedicurist. read more
