Out of the many times that we have eaten here, Saturday, 2/28/26 was a big disappointment. Our party of four arrived at 3:48 pm and we were at our table for over an hour and no one checked on us after dropping off eight plates at our table. The waitress that dropped off the plates never returned. My husband had to get up with his glass for someone to refill it and even after that, no one came to ask the rest of us if we needed a refill. Good evening. Had dinner tonight there at 5:21 pm. Food was delicious with plenty of selections. Had the buffet; the best I've had in a very long time. Very clean and safe location. Servers were very friendly and provided the best service I have had in a long time. In particular, Miranda was personal and very efficient. Kept our drinks and plates fresh!!! The staff are friendly and attentive. They keep a close check on the buffets to keep them clean and well stocked. All the southern favorites are there. I love the fried fatback and the yeast rolls and cheese biscuits. Also, the peas, beans, corn and potatoes. The fried chicken, fried porkchops and fried fish were all good if not a little dry. It's hard to keep food hot without drying it out. I started with a tossed salad to keep from over eating. But still...I was there a couple of hours with my friend and never felt pressured to leave. The employees we encountered were awesome. Both when ordering and paying to our waiter. The food was sub par for sure. We ordered off the menu ribeye and pork chop. Ribeye was cooked to temp but there was a bunch of fat and grizzle. Pork chop was a little over cooked but wasn't too dry. Rather fatty as well. Baked potato was definitely baked.... As in over baked!!! I'm not sure what was done to the Texas toast but it was just plain horrible. Salad bar.... Brown lettuce and toppings were full but a bit messy. The STEAKS are certified black angus steaks @ a very good price for the quality of the steaks. We ate here on Thursday, May 26, 2022. I was excited because I grew up eating at the local Western Sizzlin' but hadn't seen one in more than 20 years. My husband and I both ordered the Rib-Eye steak. Mine was cooked perfectly (medium rare) but tasted salty and looked more like it had been fried than grilled. It was very disappointing - I could have gotten a juicier, much more tasty rib-eye at Outback or Texas Road House for about the same price. The French Fries were very good, and fresh, but there just wasn't much food for the money. My Texas Toast tasted slightly stale. The staff was very nice, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean and attractive, good family atmosphere, and the food buffet bar looked much more appetizing than the steaks we ordered. When we come back to Dunn to eat I will definitely order the buffet instead. It is very large, with a great selection of meats, veggies, salad, fresh rolls and desserts. The fried chicken alone looked crispy-delicious and so did the fresh-baked rolls. I was sorry I didn't see what was in the buffet before I ordered my steak. If you want a good family meal in Dunn, come here and try their buffet. Maybe we just got a luck-of-the-draw lackluster meal for whatever reason. Fried chicken was over cooked, fries shrimp wasn't prepared or cooked properly one of the two. The breading on the shrimp was falling off straight out of the kitchen on the buffet. Waitress wasn't attentive and prices for buffet were outrageous. I paid the same price for an 8 year old child as I did for an adult meal. They had seafood on the buffet on a Monday night. Won't be back food wasn't worth the price and lighting was extremely dim. You have to wait on the waitress to bring you your plates and dinner ware for the buffet. We were given dessert/salad plates for our buffet as waitresses said they didn't have any dinner plates clean and she got those plates as soon as they came out dishwasher so they were still wet. We sat there for 15 minutes waiting on refills and more plates for our Buffetts. This was our first time back since being under new ownership and management and they have dropped the ball seriously in this store. read more

Always dependable for good food and variety. My wife LOVES their fried fish and as a vegetarian I like their fruit and salad bar. My grandson loves their cheese burgers (that's saying something!) The staff seems always friendly and helpful...and Their prices seem a little high but the only time we eat is in the evenings when for some reason prices are higher.... Wish they had a Veterans discount...although they do give a little senior discount...every penny helps and leaves more room for tips! We eat there about 3 time a month...might go more if they offered coupons. read more

Last time I will darken the door here! Waitress was fabulous! Food came out hot and cooked right. However... no butter or sour cream on potato bar; also had to round up my own steak sauce. When potato toppings finally arrived, the rest of food was cold. No drink refill.. no one checked to make sure food was cooked as ordered. I was in town for work and all the other restaurants in the area seemed to be closed down, so we ended up at Western Sizzlin by default, but it was surprisingly good! We got the lunch buffet, and the price was pretty cheap for all the food they had. And it was all really tasty! My favorite part was the mac and cheese, reminded me of the mac and cheese my mom would make. I'll definitely be back! read more

Walking into this restaurant will take you back in time. Good food, great buffet with plenty to choose from. It's showing it's age a bit, but still running strong. You can order steaks as well, which I still need to try one day, but would definitely go again. read more

For years now, any time we are traveling through a town we aren't really familiar with, it is always nice to see a Western Sizzlin where we are familiar with their menu. It didn't seem to be particularly busy, but we waited 25 minutes even though we saw plenty of empty spaces. When we got our food, it was cold and my husband's burger was so sloppy he had to eat with a fork. My steak was ordered MR and was not only well done, it was charred on one side and I never got my potato. I have never posted a review before, but it was so abysmal. Hopefully management can turn this around if it is their normal. read more

I have come here every time that I'm in Dunn visiting my in-laws. I always thought the home cooked food was tasty enough with plenty of variety. But my last visit was the first time I came with my kids, which caused me to pick out a high chair and booster seat. Can you say disgusting?? I promise you, they have not replaced these things since I was a kid. Like I'm talking rust and all. A place that keeps high chairs like that out can't be keeping up with other things. For $13.99, I got a 10oz New York strip (large steak), a large baked potatoe, a slice of toasted French bread, and the salad bar (salad bar includes, salad bar, fruit bar, and bread and dessert bar). I went on a Saturday for the lunch buffet. The interior, plates, and utensils could all use a upgrade! Sitting inside there felt like the mid 1990's. My table had dried food spots and that disturbed my mood a great deal. Friendly staff, but I kept getting stares (as if I was going to steal food). There were 3 people in my party. Everything was Wonderful and we are happy we stopped in. Was Headed North on 95 and was looking for a place to eat. If you're looking for a good family-style restaurant with great food, this is the place to go. You choose either a normal menu item or a buffet. Also, the dining space is nice and spread out. You can always find a seat. For the buffet, you have a variety of options. Seafoods, meat, vegetables, and fruit. Also (the best part!) soft serve. Service was good, the waitresses don't check on you very much. When we ordered, the cashiers were quite nice. Finally, the place is kept clean. I didn't see single crumb on the floor, which is good. If you want steak go to a steakhouse. This location is always good. We've probably eaten in about 15 times and done a take-out about 7 times. The food quality is always amazingly good. Great wait staff and consistent food quality off the menu or with the buffet. My only negative comment is that if you are not careful you will eat too many of the amazing yeast rolls and have to take home your leftovers. I wish this location was in Fayetteville, NC, but we'll keep making the drive to Dunn to enjoy their food. read more
