I signed up with Secure System June/July 2022. They showed up with a bunch of equipment and bulky…read moreequipment that I wasn't expecting. After reluctance I agreed since I was having to leave to North Carolina for work and needed a system for my house. I purchased a second home in North Carolina not long after. I installed SimpliSafe in that home. 1. The system you buy what you need, and install it yourself. The equipment doesn't leave residue. There are no holes or wiring involved. 2. Secure System, stated the system had 24 hour back in the event of power outages. It's Bakersfield, in the summer power outages are frequent. I kept getting calls at 2 am to notify me or the next person in my list o contacts, that we had a power outage. Like who wants to be wakened up at 2am to be told you have a power outage ? Ok, thanks, but don't I have 24 hour back up power in the system? Yes, but we thought you should know you don't have power at 2am. 3. I signed a 3- yr contract for $70/month I tried to ask if I could remove some of the windows they said, you can remove them but we will continue to charge you $70/month. Then the bill went to $78/month. I contacted multiple times no response. 9 months later and im finally in Bakersfield and go personally in to the office. They tell, me oh, maybe a mistake you shouldn't be paying $70 that was a mistake. So since April 2023 I've been paying $78 not $70 as per the same contract that they were holding me. 4. To end my contract early I paid Secure System $826 to end the contract and have them remove all their equipment from my house. They come, remove and LEAVE all the residue, wires, and holes in my walls for me to go clean. The guy who came said, the stuff comes off with Goof Off. I have to go buy things to clean up and patch up their mess. Save your self the time and energy and go with SimpliSafe, $24.99 BETTER service and equipment. You can add or remove whatever you want when you want, I can drop down to $14.99 a month if I wanted to and create schedules on the system. Now I need to pay for someone to patch and paint the holes and clean the reside Secure Systems left behind on top of the $826 I paid them to get out of my house. RESPONSE TO MOLLY: 1. Unfortunate, you can't event get my name right. My name is Jessica per the contract and Yelp page. 2. Thanks, but Molly needs to try to attempt to discourage people with the Cellular Fear to make sure people are afraid and come get stuck on the same issue I did. I have a BS, Chemical Engineering. I've done extensively comparing Secure System to other systems and that's why I can, and WILL continue to help other people not fall for this company willing to cause damage and mess in people's personal property like a home. SimpliSafe partnered is with ADT which is a reliable safety company that LYFT also uses for leading the industry when it comes to safety. Even LYFT uses and partners with ADT for passengers. The cameras send real time video in the event it needs to seen real time to send RESPONDERS !! SimpliSafe does not partner with SmartHomes to ensure the safety and Integrity of their systems. THIRD UPDATE: they connected their shitty system to my HVAC in the attic, and it's been WITHOUT POWER for 17 days because of their technician. In addition to the cleaning, patching, painting, I need to bring my HVAC contractor that had installed all new duct work and HVAC unit to go see why, if the breakers on the panel are on, does my unit not have power. BY ALL MEANS WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT ALL THESE HEADACHES AND EXPENSES STEALING HOUR MONEY AND DAMAGING YOUR HOME.

TO Molly : I understand i signed a contract. If I am paying for equipment as you say, then what is the equipment that your staff said needs to be returned upon cancellation? Am I paying for equipment or service? My original review stands, BEWARE of this contract...

I had a scheduled appointment with a certain technician to come out to my home to relocate 1 camera and add a few other new devices. For some reason our assigned technician was re assigned to a different installation. The issue is , this technician came out to my home and knew exactly where I wanted new equipment and all wire ran through the attic. I've had bad experiences with prior techs to the point I had to help them run wire through attic. This is specifically why he was requested and assigned originally. So I lost a days of work due to I wanted to be home for install and now we had to cancel. So now I'm even more delayed on getting my new equipment. Scheduling needs to get it together. When someone is requesting a tech. It's for a reason. Every customer has different needs and expect certain outcomes that not all techs can perform. If I could give negative 5 stars I would.

The panel is slow and often disconnects to the internet. The phone app is pretty cool but slow. I called Vivint so they could just send a tech to fix everything at once and they told me they would send someone out for $99. I've had different security services before so compared to past experiences I really feel like I got a bad deal.

Medrano Surveillance did a spectacular job on my camera installation! When the owner Christian,…read morecame by my house for the estimate, he was patient and thorough and answered all my questions. Christian advised me and gave great recommendations on the types of cameras, their placement, and what features they would come with. After being provided with all the information, I booked an appointment that day for installation. About two weeks later Christian, and his cousin Sebastian, arrived at my home on time and got right to work. From start to finish they were here about 4 hours. During the process, Medrano Surveillance took the time to lay down drop cloths and moving blankets to try and keep the mess from installation down to a small area. Very detail oriented. They worked like a well oiled machine and when they were done, they picked up their mess, vacuumed and swept my floors, and took all the time I needed getting set up with the apps and the equipment. If you're reading this and thinking of upgrading to a wired home camera system, I highly recommend you do it and use Medrano Surveillance for your installation. Fairly priced and clean, professional installation.

This review is based on the phone calls made, not actual service…read more We decided to get home security service because of some issues happening around the neighborhood. I already reviewed Ring, SimpliSafe, Vivint, and Blink. We rent and there is equipment inside the home from Tel-Tec. So, I assumed I could just turn it on and no installation fee. Plus being local, I expected pricing to be competitive. I called and was transferred to Sales. I left a VM but no call back. I e-mailed using their contact us page, no reply or phone call. I called again, and was transferred to Sales who then transferred me to someone else, supposedly he was to have contacted me already. I explained my situation and was told it was going to be $250 for restarting/professional installation and more if we decide to upgrade to newer products plus $24 a month monitoring service. This house has two motion sensor lights, that is it and their keypad, and that was $250 to be restarted? You can get a way better package with SimpliSafe with more equipment and keep it, and their fee is only $14 a month! When asked about security cameras, he said they don't have that type of service but was looking at 800 to 2500 depending on how many we wanted. Again, way too high for that too. You can get Blink cameras, set of 4, for less than 300 and no service fee! You can even connect them if you're worried about the battery either by outlet or using a small solar panel. You would think they'd be more aggressive to their competitors.

I do remember being totally turned off with their company after having to deal with Tammy. Thankfully, she's not a doctor because she would have a terrible bed-side manner. I chose them because…read morethey are locally owned and operated and their monthly rates are low in comparison to other companies. The monitoring service is outsourced to a national call center, which handles monitoring for many different alarm companies. My initial installation for two door sensors and a motion sensor was very expensive; $850! I went ahead and paid this because I did not want to get sucked into an ADT contract or a bait and switch with "low introductory rates." Despite the high initial cost I've had great customer service anytime I've had questions or issues with the equipmemt. There is also no contract, and the monthly monitoring price has only increased once, from $25 to $30. My only complaint thus far is a delay in notification. Recently I came home carrying groceries and did not enter my code in time. I punched it in about 30 seconds after the siren was sounding but did not receive a call from the national monitoring center. I was concerned that my phone missed the call, so I telephones the call center myself and asked. The alarm agent informed me there is a two minute period they wait for a code to be entered before checking the list for responsible parties. This means that in the event of a good alarm (ie: an actual burglary), the suspect could have up to two minutes to work before the first call on the list is made. If nobody answers, the alarm service will notify law enforcement who will likely have a delayed response as well. In effect, five or ten minutes could easily go by before contact is made with law enforcement, by which time the burglar will likely be long gone. This will likely be the case with any alarm monitoring service, but one has to ask if its even worth it at that point. I'll pay $30 a month for this service, but nothing more.
