When I first hired this company, I was extremely pleased - and I mean extremely. On time, great work, and reasonably priced. Time went by and another need arose, so I called them again. But this time the outcome was far less than satisfactory. Why? Why would a great company go down hill (so to speak) like that? Just kept scratching my head. Well, it dawned on me that perhaps the owner is hiring apprentice electricians to help them out, which if that is the case, is great. BUT, these employees must be supervised by an experienced, competent, knowledgeable and "seasoned" electrician. What actually happened was I hired them to install quite a few ceiling fans. After the job was done the ceiling fans were making such a hideous sound, we couldn't use any of the fans! So, I phoned a very close friend whom I trusted like I used to trust Rankin, and he had to troubleshoot each fan and basically re-install each one. Mark Haynes came to my mothers rescue when her oven stopped working. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He stayed about an hour and half to double check everything. We recently purchased an older home that needed some electrical work. Rankin emailed us a detailed quote; we accepted and they scheduled the work. They were very busy so they weren't able to come out for about 30 days for some of the work and the other job could not be scheduled for another month or so (not Rankins fault PG&E delay). Brian and a helper came the first day and installed ceilings fans, did some GFI work, repaired some fans in the bathroom. The other job was replacing our breaker box. Brian came out and did that work as well. They did a great job. I really appreciated the great communication Brian gave us; a detailed explanation on what he was doing and the estimated timeline. When I called to make an appointment with a list; Fan replacement, fixing various outlets and switches, replacing 2 light fixtures, etc. I was told there was a flat fee per hour which I found to be reasonable.
