So glad i found McNamee!! It's a small local family-run business and HONEST, unlike the large outfits I've dealt with. His price was about a third less than what another company quoted for replacing a dangerous old Zinsco electric panel. The bigger company was slinging some line about how it would take most electricians 2 or 3 months to get the electric company to sign off on a panel replacement, but supposedly they have a personal connection who would expedite it and they could maybe do the job in a month ... it was all nonsense. McNamee got the whole job done, inspected, approved, and hooked up again after just about 10 days. Highly recommend. read more

Ken McNamee has made three or four trips to my mobile. He has found several dangerous problems with most of my plugs and light switches, which could have caused a fire, and I confirmed his findings with ChatGPT, so he never exaggerates about electric issues. He is a straight arrow. He also found that the outdoor plug wiring was done with the wrong kind of electric wire as well as being put inside PVC, which is against code. He replaced it with the proper metal conduit and proper wiring. He made sure the two outdoor plugs (there was only one plug before) would be weather proof. I am sort of OCD about things being correct and he is the same way. Pretty cool. He also figured out all of my breaker switches (with the help of his wife) so now I know what breaker switch controls what in the house and it IS all marked on the panel. He also changed out a ceiling fan that was in the kitchen, which didn't light up the kitchen well, with two ceiling LED lights that light up perfectly now. I can see what I am doing! He also replaced the light over the kitchen sink so that it is now centered properly. I can't say enough about how good of an electrician he is! You are the best, Ken! On top of all that, Ken has a great sense of humor! We laughed a lot. read more

Wow!! Ken and his son to the rescue literally! While calling around for an electrician to figure out why my breakers in my kitchen continuously kept blowing and my outlets not working and to find someone to replace the ultra shitty cheap plug in recessed lighting the builder installed in my kitchen and laundry room my son and I were getting quite discouraged. The prices we were quoted by nearly everyone was just insane. We happened on McNamee and spoke to Ken. Such a fantastic personality!! He asked what was up and what I needed and immediately said well i'm pretty sure i know what's going on. Quoted me at half of what everyone else did!! Literally told me he just wants to help people and not rip them off. Hear that?? Honesty rules and integrity rules!! Don't come by that often these days do you? Ken set up the appointment showed up on time fixed what was going on with my wiring in my outlets, checked the breakers and gave an estimate for my lights to be replaced with recessed LED's and replaced my CO smoke detectors as well. Set up a second appointment for the lights for the following week. Ken and his son showed up that day on time again. Ken's son replaced all my lights and voila OMG!! I finally have great lighting in my kitchen and laundry room!! Let me tell you prior to this the last 10 years SUCKED!! Those lights the builder installed SUCKED! Every time they went out in order to replace them you had to put this tool beside them to pry them out which never worked the light ended up shattering in a million pieces with the base still fused inside the socket! This led to me only having 3 working lights left in my kitchen. Ken and his son brought life back to my kitchen literally! LOL! That was the highlight of this year for me it may seem small but in my life this last 14 months have been a literal hell. This made my entire year haha! Not even kidding. I will be hiring Ken to replace all of those shitty lights the builder installed in all 3 bathrooms and my closet as well so none of those lights are left haunting me anymore!! And did I mention the price?? I will say again I paid half of what the other companies quoted me. So i've found my forever electrician. Both Ken and his son Rocked!! Polite, funny, professional and impeccable customer service! Thank you Ken again for making me smile and bringing light into my life again! read more

I've used McNamee Electric several times now and couldn't be more satisfied. Ken (the owner) was always prompt and on time. He recently replaced a 30+ year old electrical panel on our house that had been failing. Derrick (his son) and Ken also replaced all of the outlets and switches at the house at our request. Ken is very good at diagnosing (he has over 40 years experience as an electrician) an electrical problem quickly and resolving it quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends. We called this service the day before he actually came out ! Very prompt, personable, and has 40 plus years experience! We had an electric problem somewhere in our home. He tested and checked everything and found some loose wiring in one of our bedrooms! A switch plate that had not been properly installed. We have had this home for over 20 years and have never fixed any wiring in our home. That means this loose wiring has been there before we purchased it! Thank you to McNamee Electric for fixing and preventing a fire! He charged us a VERY REASONABLE rate! read more

I called McNamee electric because half of my house lost power suddenly. Called the main business line and they had Ken call me right back and he told me what he thought it was on the phone and came right out. It was what he thought and it was from PG&E side of the box. He then contacted PG&E and got us on the list for repair. Good honest person and I will be using them again. read more
