I called the morning to get an estimate on 4 light fixtures that I needed replaced. He gave a good rough estimate and said he could be here in an hour. I was very surprised on how fast and responsive he was. He arrived and immediately went to work, he did look at where I wanted a 2nd patio light and let me know it was going to be a bigger project because the address light wouldn't have had enough power to work with a porch light. So I am waiting on that one till next time. But he was very efficient and diligent on the 2 bathroom light fixtures and the one porch light, price was competitive as well. He also replaced the switches and outlets that where giving us issues as well. I am absolutely pleased with the work and will be using him for all my electrical needs. read more

Juan was prompt to the appointment. He was very thorough with his services. He was concerned about the safety of our home electrical units.

Juan from Duke Electric came out to move some Romex for me and from start to finish, it was the best contractor experience I've had. Scheduling was painless, he showed up when he said he would, the price was fair, and the work was clean and professional. He took the time to walk me through what he was doing which I really appreciated. He is a genuinely kind and respectful guy and a quality electrician you don't want to lose the number for. If you're in Bakersfield, I highly recommend l Duke Electric. 5 stars - would absolutely hire them again. read more

Thanks for everything! Super reliable, friendly, and extremely quick with his job. He is also bilingual so that helps as well.

I had a bit of a mess on my hands thanks to a handyman who meant well but definitely wasn't qualified for electrical work. Juan--an absolute lifesaver. From the start, he was polite, punctual, and professional. He showed up right on time (which already put him in my good books) and got straight to diagnosing the problem. Not only did he fix the handyman's mistakes, but he also took the time to explain what had gone wrong and how he was correcting it. Super thorough, and I really appreciated that. The work was done quickly, cleanly, and everything works perfectly now. Honestly, it was a real pleasure having someone who clearly knows what they're doing--and takes pride in doing it right. If you're looking for an electrician who's skilled, respectful, and just easy to work with, look no further. I won't be calling anyone else from now on! read more

I tried installing my own coach lights, but the lights were not working. I I looked on my yelp app to find a licensed electrician who had the most reviews and found Duke Electric. I contacted the number at 7 AM on a Saturday morning and Juan answered the phone right away. We arranged for an appointment on the same day at 12:30pm. He texted me when he was on his way, showed up on time, and troubleshooted the coach lights. He found the problems and he was able to get my coach lights working again. He was very professional and knowledgeable! read more

Juan, the owner of Duke Electric, was the PERFECT choice for us! We had a portion of our electricity go out in the house, and actually, a neighbor is the one who recommended Duke Electric, (by YELPing him) so we called him and he came out. He trouble shooted our house and was able to let us know the problem the very same visit, gave us options, and left it up to us with no pressure. He gave us the estimate, and the estimate was spot on. We went with his recommendations, and we're SO glad we did! (We had our breaker box replaced.) Juan stayed true to his commitment and his promise, as to how the whole operation would go. He explained in detail, what the process would be and told us that he would be in contact with us through the whole process. He was in contact with us through the whole process as he was dealing with PG&E as well. He was at our home when he said he would be (texting us the whole time), and he completed the project when he said it would be completed, given the fact that he was also on PG&E time schedule, not only his own. He was very respectful of our home. He's very people oriented and very kind and professional. So much so, that we treated him as family. WE highly recommend Juan, at Duke Electric, for any electrical problems you have. Thank you so much, Juan, from the bottom of our hearts! ~Mark and Sheila read more

From the moment I called, Juan provided exceptional customer service and explained everything and asked all the right questions and gave us a quote right away and scheduled. He was professional, on time, extremely considerate and did wonderful work on all of our ceiling fan installations, pendant lights and assembled and installed a 250 piece chandelier. He even sprayed disinfectant in my sons room after installation since we were going to go in there for his nap soon. I cant rave enough about the wonderful experience and work Juan provided. read more

Hands down the best service in town that I have received. I had another electrical team come out and do an inspection on my home and something just didn't feel right about their findings, I hit up Juan for a second opinion and he was able to find a major issue that the other team didn't even locate! He pulled permits and within a week the repairs were done in one day! Thank you again! read more

Oh man, what can I say but this company/electrician is the best. Juan has done past work for me, installing a chandelier. He does great work, is very professional, and reliable. I very recently had an issue with Precision Door, they installed a new garage door motor and control panel. Precision Door also drilled a hole through the electrical wires behind the panel which short circuited and damaged the electricity in my garage and patio and sprinkler system. While Precision Door tried to claim they didn't do anything even though I had no electricity after the new installation, Juan calmly explained to them their mistake and took care of everything for me. So while now I will forever tell anybody who asks to never use precision door, I will recommend Duke electric to anyone who needs an honest reliable electrician. read more

The electricity cut off to only half of our home at 4am. During the summer, this is a HUGE problem. I placed a call to Duke's at 8am and Juan called back 5 minutes later. He was personable, knowledgeable, prompt, and professional. He identified the problem immediately and was able to make the necessary repairs. PG&E had to be called as there was a problem on their end (melted meter) that required their intervention. Even so, Juan offered to be an intermediary if needed. Thankfully, it wasn't necessary. I will absolutely use Duke's again without hesitation. read more

I called Duke Electric yesterday to have someone come out and replace an outdoor electrical outlet and switch. He scheduled himself to come out this am and was right on time. He was very polite and professional. He worked quickly and had to make a material run, which raised his fee into the 2 hour slot. It was $250 to have to outlet, switch and box fronts replaced. This was higher than we expected but I know the job was done right. I would recommend Duke Electric. read more

Duke Electric - Electricians Near Me - Bakersfield, California

this guy is a thief and a liar!!! Dukes Electric said 100.00 for service call to change out a thermostat and secure a circuit breaker switch and the 100.00 included an hour and half labor/trouble shoot. He arrived then said it was going to be 150.00 not 100.like he quoted on phone. I reminded him he told me on the phone 100. but he insisted he said it was 150. I'm on a limited income so I know what amount I agreed to but I was desperate to get my new thermostats mounted so first I took him to the electrical box he secured the switch in 2 minutes then I took him inside to replace my thermostat. He looked at it and immediately said, "he didnt do thermostats that I had to hire a HVAC person to install a thermostat" what do you mean you don't do thermostats? why did you even call me back or come to my house when I specifically requested help with a thermostat if you don't do thermostats?? He still wanted to be paid the 150.00 service call fee!!! I didnt want a lien placed on my home so I offered my credit card... He said, "I don't take credit cards only cash, check or Zelle. I explained I don't have that much money in my bank account. He thought for a second and said, "Okay, I'll accept a credit card but it will cost you 4% more." OMG could it get any worse? I looked at Dukes Electric ad and it says they accept credit cards!! it also advertises heater/furnace and Air Conditioning repair, and installation!! that is HVAC work and he told me he doesn't do thermostats that I had to call an HVAC person!!! BTW... I question if he is a has an electrical contractors license as he didn't offer a business card, or a written estimate or even a receipt for his undeserved overcharged payment!! I texted him asking him for his CA Contractors License number and a refund for overcharging me but I was not surprised when he didn't respond. I'm going to file a formal complaint /report his lack of business ethics to the CA State Contractors board and to CA State consumers affairs and I'm going to seek my overcharged payment in Small claims court since he refuses to give me any money back. Don't hire this guy for anything! I know he is the owner because he said he named his business after his dog Duke. His didn't even introduce himself with his real name or have a name tag. His work truck does not have any business name to identify him. This guy and his business called Dukes Electric in Bakersfield CA is a scam!!! read more

We were having light flickering problems. Juan came the next day, diagnosed the problem and fixed it promptly. I then asked him to complete several projects which I wanted to do, including security lights, LED dimmer switches, LED lights for the laundry room and garage, replacement of worn breakers at the panel, and a dusk to dawn light switch, as well as repairing the pool and spa light switches. He came the following Monday and did all of the work professionally and neatly. It was a long day for us both, but mutually worthwhile. I recommend him without reservations. read more

Most reliable and trustworthy electrician there is! Takes care of what needs to be done efficiently and professionally.

Juan came out to install new switches for our exterior lights. He had an opening in his schedule and was able to come out right away. He was very professional and we are so pleased with the outcome. Our exterior lights now come on at dusk and then go off at dawn. I appreciated that he's upfront about pricing and answered any questions I had. I will definitely call on him again to help with any electrical needs we may have. Thanks Juan! read more

Let me start with I have had some work done to my house. The individual I hired was a jack of all trades and a master of none. Having multiple issues with the electrical in my home, I contacted a couple electricians for repair and they could not rectify the problem. I contacted Juan and had a few things to install. A couple of attic fans and a motion sensor. I sent Juan the make and model for my fans per his request. When he came to install the fans he notified me on the proper way they need to mount to function best according to the manufacturer (Juan called the company on his own). He also ran a dedicated power cable to my sub panel to avoid overloading another breaker. Now back to the problems, Juan trouble shot everything. Things are out back together, installed properly, and now I no longer have to worry about coming home to an electrical fire. I would highly recommend Duke Electric for all your needs: fast, efficient, and professional. read more

I DO NOT recommend this place. He called the law after my fiancé accidentally wrote him a check from my line of credit. And when I asked if I could drop off cash to his location at a later time (he already knew where I lived), he said he needed it then and now without considering my work day; and he threatened to "kick my ass" after an honest mistake. He even used some of my fiancé's material and still charged us full price. He didn't even clean up after his work, leaving pieces of drywall and saw dust all over the place. 5 outlets for nearly $1000, we honestly could've used another contractor for a better deal with decent character. 0 stars if I could. read more

I had discussion over phone and text of project scope and my 80 year old mother took care of showing Juan and his team the house and areas where to remove existing fixtures and install 2 chandeliers for dining and living room, 3 pendant lights and 3 hallway lights. Feedback from mother: Timely, respectful, cleaned up the areas and the styrofoam from the boxes of the new fixtures (mom said a ton of styrofoam), efficient and work is neat and tidy. I changed scope last minute to add light fixtures to brother's house next door and was completed. Price is reasonable. Will absolutely recommend to friends and will hire again for backyard lighting needs. read more
