No need for that admonition from the cashier. A simple, "It is Prom time, we are backed up terribly and are unable to meet your deadline," would have been acceptable. I may return, but my wife took her pants back to the store and will wait 7-10 days and save $70.00 on alteration fees, and receive outstanding customer service.

I used Alterations by Frances for a hem on a bridesmaid dress - and I was completely impressed by…read morethe professionalism! I love that the prices are laid out ahead of time by essentially having a "menu" showing prices for various common alterations. This seems like such a simple thing, but for whatever reason, most places don't do that. You only need an appointment if you're altering a bridal gown - otherwise you can stop in during regular business hours. My dress was ready for pickup exactly a week after I dropped it off, which was precisely the expectation they set when I dropped it off. I believe Frances truly cares about her clients. I tried on the dress upon pickup, and the top had been tucked and wasn't laying quite right. Frances listened compassionately and immediately undid the tuck to fix it so that I would be comfortable on the day of the wedding. She even re-did it while I waited so I wouldn't have to come back. It was great!I was very happy with the alterations and am so glad to have found a go-to place for alterations.

Yayy Anna's Tailoring!…read more If you are in need of a new tailor - look no further. Anna and her daughter Monica are absolutely wonderful. They were SO very helpful in helping me get my dress fitted in time for a wedding. They are very sweet ladies. I had a multi-layer, difficult to hem, chiffon gown. Anna's was able to do it in a week for me! They hemmed it perfectly. I am so happy I found this place when I was in a pinch, and am looking forward to giving them more business in the future. Things were said that mischaracterized both parties. Monica's husband reach out to me and we were able to discuss this in a cordial and professional manner. Everything ended well, I just wish things were handled in this manner from the beginning. To whatever transpired, I do believe Monica is good at what she does and I do hope she satisfied more clients in the future.

They've also done other things with my work clothes and other things. The last thing they did was put buckles on the cinch strap of a work apron, came out perfect. They've always done a great job, no problems with their work, and they're very inexpensive for what they do. Only problem is they never got over Covid. They insist on making appointments, which is a HUGE pain if you run around doing errands like I do. Also I don't see how an appointment keeps someone with Covid from coming in (if you're afraid of that). Also they have a tendency to run behind so be ready for that. Other than those two issues, five stars.

Took my daughter's homecoming dress here to have an inch taken up. While there, we discovered that…read moreit no longer fit and was just shy of zipping. It was agreed that they would use the fabric from the bottom to add room at the zipper. Was told to come back on the 20th (almost two weeks from drop off). Dance was 27th. Came on the 22nd to try on. Back was great, but hem was a mess- uneven, slip hanging out under mesh overlay, strings that attach the beads loose. She said she'd fix it, come back Wed. On Wed, she basically shoved the dress at me and I paid and left- at this point I knew it must still be a mess because I wasn't even shown the finished product. But at that point I just needed to figure out what needed to be fixed. As I walked to the car, sequins were falling off in the parking lot. I ended up having to completely undo her hem, remove the stones at the bottom and secure the thread attaching the stones so no more fell off, rehem and hand-sew the stones and sequins to match the rest of the dress. I had to skimp because I didn't have many extras to work with. Dress ended up turning out fine despite about 4 hours of my time fixing the dress. Monday I went back to get the garment bag she did not return. While waiting, I saw she had a pile of stones that she did not give me!! I needed those for the fix!! She could not find my bag. All in all, the price she quoted was reasonable for the zipper alterations but felt low for both zipper and hem so I guess you get what you pay for... but the work was not at all what she told me I would get, and def not worth the stress it caused. Will never return or recommend to others.
