I am writing this on behalf of my wife who had a bridesmaid dress recently altered at this shop…read more When the dress was initially brought in, the measurements were measured without pins, simply pinched the material and eyeballed it off of the measurement and released (Red flag #1). The price up front was high, really high, which led my wife to decide against having the work done but the owner begged to do the work after haggling the price down. The reason was "she needed the business." (Red flag #2) After 3 weeks of no communication from the shop, my wife called to check on the status with no answer. After finally getting notified that the dress was finished, the final fitting was less than successful. The material that was taken in was looped rather than cut and trimmed, the zipper no longer worked, and the bottom hem ended up being too short and uneven. The fit was even less impressive. The dress was too tight, probably due to the poor measurements, and rather than fix the dress the owner replied with "lay off the deserts" 4 times. This would be the 4th dress my wife has had altered in the past 4 year. The first three dresses were done with fairly popular wedding dress alteration businesses with no issues. This dress, however, we had to have re-altered again to fix the mistakes.

The worst experience of my life(for this type of service) with customer service and quality of…read morework. I try to shop local and when I was quoted the price it was more than double what I pay at the popular men's clothier specializing in suits however, I thought it is close and I will give it a try. I needed suit alterations, mainly the sleeves altered on the jacket which required moving the buttons, a seemingly normal request. When I received the altered jacket the sleeve vent that is supposed to be open was sewn shut and one of the buttons completely removed, which tells me a shortcut was taken by simply removing a button instead of moving the buttons. I returned the jacket and the shop owner was very put out that I had the nerve to question the "good work they do" but said she would correct the problem only after being insulted by her, insinuating I would spread bad things about about her(which I ignored) AND attempting to charge more for the "hand work" they will have to do tho make the corrections to which I responded I am not paying extra for your mistake!! I left the jacket trusting she would make the correction and live up her claims that "we do good work here". I picked the jacket up and I was shocked and appalled at the work that had been done. Instead of opening the lining of the sleeve and moving the buttons properly, the buttons were sloppily moved and sewn through the lining and the missing buttons were replaced with others that did not even match and the vents that had been sewn shut were not cut at an angle because so much material had been removed there was not enough to make corrections. I wore the altered suit a couple of times and now a hem has failed on the pants!
