Very nice job of fixing my towels that were coming unsewn and did it at a very reasonable cost.

Took my daughter's homecoming dress here to have an inch taken up. While there, we discovered that it no longer fit and was just shy of zipping. It was agreed that they would use the fabric from the bottom to add room at the zipper. Was told to come back on the 20th (almost two weeks from drop off). Dance was 27th. Came on the 22nd to try on. Back was great, but hem was a mess- uneven, slip hanging out under mesh overlay, strings that attach the beads loose. She said she'd fix it, come back Wed. On Wed, she basically shoved the dress at me and I paid and left- at this point I knew it must still be a mess because I wasn't even shown the finished product. But at that point I just needed to figure out what needed to be fixed. As I walked to the car, sequins were falling off in the parking lot. I ended up having to completely undo her hem, remove the stones at the bottom and secure the thread attaching the stones so no more fell off, rehem and hand-sew the stones and sequins to match the rest of the dress. I had to skimp because I didn't have many extras to work with. Dress ended up turning out fine despite about 4 hours of my time fixing the dress. Monday I went back to get the garment bag she did not return. While waiting, I saw she had a pile of stones that she did not give me!! I needed those for the fix!! She could not find my bag. All in all, the price she quoted was reasonable for the zipper alterations but felt low for both zipper and hem so I guess you get what you pay for... but the work was not at all what she told me I would get, and def not worth the stress it caused. Will never return or recommend to others. read more

Okay so let me start by saying I read every review and I still came with high hopes as this is shop is close to my house and I prefer to stay near home for some things if possible. I stopped in on a rainy day and got fitting in my suit jacket to get taken in about an inch or so. I was told to pick it up the following Saturday. So a week. Okay no problem. I showed up and she had a hard time finding my jacket to find out it hasn't been done yet. She asked if I could come back later in the day or another day. I chose to come back on Tuesday. I came back and she found it not done again. Again asked if I would come back later in the day or the next day, again I came back the next day. It was done and done well. Excellent work. So I am happy. But just be aware you may have to come back. Still I will be back here and if I need it asap I will make sure to let her know. I was in no real hurry. read more

Been going here for several years and always got good service. Took two pairs of blue jeans in to get shortened by 4 inches. Waited my two weeks to get them. Picked them up and took them home and hung them in the closet. Went on vacation and took these jeans with me only to find that they had not been touched. You could still see the torn seam from where they had drug the ground. Took them back and explained the situation and waited another two weeks. Picked them up today and noticed only one pair had be altered. I asked what happened and see said they are now same length. I said at no time did I mention I wanted them to be same length, I wanted 4 inch taken off of both pairs. Needless to say I will not be going back there again. Anyone know of a good reliable alternations place? read more

Can't give a rating. Got there at 1:45p stuck zipper. Explained I needed the dress for an evening event at 6p. Closing today was listed as 5p Rude person working stated the dress was "too small" for me and that's why the zipper broke. Basically implied I was too fat, although the dress was worn a week ago for several hours; she never allowed me to explain and seemed not to want to pick up a quick extra bucks of business by putting a new zipper in real quick. They may know how to sew, but they sure do not respect customer service and do not know how to speak to people. Update: used a lil coconut oil in the zipper and wore the dress danced all night! They seem like they have people they want to serve and people they don't care to serve. I was in this place three times in one day trying to get some buttons sewn on a shirt. Each time I never got a smile or even an acknowledgment. Each time I went in, the lady pointed out a reason why she could not or would not be able to accept my shirt and buttons. It was always something around the holes being too small. I pointed out that she could just open up the buttonhole because the existing button hope had extra thread in it. I ended up taking the shirt to another tailor, and they got the buttons on with no issues. read more

I lost 38 pounds and needed my dress altered for my sister's wedding. I took the dress in on Tuesday and I asked her, was there anyway I could get by Friday? I picked the dress up Friday evening and it was perfect! I will never go anywhere else. Lu is the best! read more

Had a midi dress altered to an above the knee length. I can't even wear the dress now it shows my butt even after trying it on and showing her where to hem it. Had to go back and have hem taken out and it's STILL too short to even wear with an uneven hem. read more

Wish I could give a negative rating. I had a very unprofessional disatisfactory experience with Lu. I gave her 6 lawn cushion covers for alteration. She told me it would be 2 weeks and she would call when they were done. 3 weeks passed without a call and my husband stopped by to follow up. She said they weren't done and it would be 10 more days. So we waited. About 8 days later she called and said they would be ready in two days. I went to pick them up and they weren't even in the shop. Supposedly her husband was working on them in her home. She said to come the next day. The next day she called and said they wouldn't be ready until the next day again. I went to pick them up and only 2 of the six were done. She said her husband was too busy with his job and couldn't do it. What the heck!? Needless to say I took them home. I will never use her service again. REDICULOUS! read more

Went in to get a zipper on my jeans fixed. Ready in a week for 10 bucks... I was slow on picking them up and they didn't give me crap for it. I think after 60 days you might lose your stuff. Nice. Efficient. I think i had a dress altered there once. Quality work. read more

This was my second time using Lu's. First time, a while back, I had two jeans' waist bands taken in. They fit perfectly afterwards. This time I needed a zipper fixed on a pair jeans. If I could give a negative star count it would be -10 stars. First I was a bit Leary by the way the place looked but went based on a few reviews. Very unprofessional which is exactly the level of service that I received. I was promised my alterations within one week. I even gave them two additional days and they could not find my alterations. The owner then says, "I left them at home can you come back at 4 or 5pm. When I arrived at 4:15 she had my alterations or shall I say my disaster-rations! Hems were crooked and not secure which means she rushed the alterations because she forgot about them. Despite having $400 worth of merchandise destroyed and & wasting $34 in alteration cost. I learned a very valuable lesson. Never ever take your best pieces to a Mom & Pop stand because they cannot cover the damage like a corporation nor will they offer. read more

A little disorganized. I brought in my son's green suit pants to be hemmed along with a gray pair of suit pants. She could not find the green pair and never offered to compensate me for them or replace them. In the past I had been pleased with her service and would have given 5 stars. No apology. No pants.
