How can a moving company arrive at a job underprepared, then bill the customer for procuring the very supplies they should have initially provided? Furthermore, we were charged by the hour for the two employees who went hunting for supplies. While two movers went supply hunting, and little to nothing was being done in our home, we were charged an hourly rate for 3 movers, because the moving company failed to bring necessary supplies, and by "supplies" I don't just mean boxes. I'm talking about the scissors, tape, tools, dolly, etc. We had been pleading with them for weeks to provide us with a detailed receipt because the charges for supplies were so inflated that we suspected an error. It required our assistant doggedly pursuing them day after day before they finally furnished us with an itemized receipt. This is not an honest company. It is poorly run, with poor leadership. If Yelp allows it, I am going to attach a copy of the invoice so everyone is able to take a look at exactly what this moving company sent us, the inaccuracies and inflated charges. I understand getting tired, but towards the end of their work my instructions were not followed and boxes were placed haphazardly on our first and second floor rather than where I asked them to be. It took them almost two hours to get from our old to our new place, during which time they mentioned stopping for food and water (but I was charged the full time). I want these guys to get a break and asked if they would get one, but never got a clear answer, and I think I paid for all the time anyways. All and all, we enjoyed using this service and would recommend it for anyone tackling a big move in Vancouver. They could work a little faster, but all of my items arrived safely which was my primary concern.

On the day of the move an emergency had arose and one of their regular guy couldn't make it so we had to with another guy. Between having the regular mover explaining how to move things and his lazy pace the entire move for a single condo cost me more than $700 when it should have costed me about $500. Max. On top of that he charge me another 1.5% due to that they didn't know of the new location until the day of the move! The general manager obviously didn't update them and I had to pay as a result. I was upset for the service and lack of professionalism. The temp guy should have known that he was paid by hour and shouldn't be on his mobile while he was walking back and forth to the truck, very slowly. I moved before and used 2 younger guys in their 20's and the entire move was twice the distance and took less than 2 Hrs. These guys are close to 50s. You be the judge. I emailed the general manager and explained to him that I was disappointed because service was great from the beginning. Charging that amount for a small move and within about 20 blocks is ridiculous. Well I never received an apology nor a response. I guess they could careless after they walked of off with the cash. However, I was slightly horrified that they didn't bother to wrap our furniture in moving blankets before loading the pieces onto handcarts. I watched as piece after piece of fragile, expensive furniture was carted away unwrapped including a coffee table we had shipped from the UK and a teak sideboard that was our wedding gift. Both my husband and I were too nice to say anything to the movers but in retrospect, we should have especially since it was raining outside and pieces got wet. We would have wrapped key pieces ourselves had we known they wouldn't be wrapped by the movers. We underestimated the time needed for the move - our fault - and asked if the movers could stick around another hour. They agreed. However, it turned out that they had been promised a last-minute job if they could get across town by a certain (unrealistic) time. As a result, they were rushing so quickly that they broke several plastic boxes that they stacked together. There was a "supervisor" who talked on his bluetooth the whole time and was difficult to communicate with because of his broken English. The two guys doing the actual moving were nice enough, hard workers, and very careful (maybe because we were watching them so closely), but I suspect they were day laborers picked up en route. One guy had cowboy boots on. If you were a professional mover, would you want to wear cowboy boots the entire day?! Anyway, they unloaded our stuff in a reasonable amount of time, didn't break anything or damaged our walls, were dirt cheap, and did not quibble when it came time for payment. If I had to do it again, I would have looked for someone a bit more reputable and only accepted a morning appointment.
