One of the movers was great, and of the…read moremovers was unusually careless all day and dragged the upholstered side of my couch through some grass and forcefully threw boxes around, breaking some of my belongings. This resulted in, among other things, breaking a full-frame Sony camera body (approximately $1000 replacement cost). The other mover seemed a bit apologetic for the guy, but that doesn't fix my broken camera or any other damage that was done by the careless mover. I had everything fragile wrapped in padding, but a violent enough blow will damage anything, and one of the movers was throwing stuff around pretty violently. I've moved around a lot and have occasionally had things broken on international or cross-country moves where your possessions are handled by a lot of people and tossed onto some truck and you'll find that there's a foot deep puncture in one of the boxes, but I've never had this kind of damage from a local move. I would've been surprised to see this kind of damage from such a short move if I hadn't seen how one of the movers was treating my items. Dragging the cloth side of the couch across the grass was the most egregious looking thing, but in terms of replacement cost, throwing boxes around turned out to be the worse problem. Their advertising copy reads "Our experience with moving unique, costly and fragile furniture mreans that you can trust us with your belongings. Expensive and heavy items will be handled with special care". If that's special care, I'd hate to see what it looks like when they don't take special care.

They also strove hard to gain our business even giving us an awesome rate. In the end the move took longer than thought and they had more people come out, but maybe we moved more stuff too. Everything was handled very smoothly, and they take credit debit and e-transfer which is awesome. They also packed for us the day before which helped tremendously.

What we got was 2 movers arriving nearly 3 hours late. Apparently even when we asked for the first appointment of the day, they still managed to book someone else before us. When you have a small window to move 3 hours makes a huge difference and has a frustrating domino effect on everything. Not the worst experience, but also not the best.

Meredith (owner) was not only immediately responsive to my inquiry, he was able to schedule the move quickly. My mother had been in hospital, and it was clear that she could not go back to living alone in her own home (age 97!). We found a fabulous option for her, where she could have all of her own furniture. My brother insisted on moving her bedroom on his own so she could be checked out of the hospital faster. I BEGGED him to let me hire professional movers (and pay for it) and he got angry and insisted on doing it himself. So on top of moving my mother's stuff, I had to ask Meredith to now take two pieces of furniture (that my brother damaged beyond belief in his DIY move efforts) to a furniture repair location - which he happily accommodated.
