My Uncle Dan is straight out of a movie. The most Italian man you could ever think of. Straight out…read moreof the Goodfellas, thick accent, wife beater, gold chains, etc. He has more money from his construction business than he knows what to do with. He's in his twilight years of working so these days he mostly spends his time making his own red wine from scratch, hunting turkeys, and growing vegetables in his garden. He clears the vibe check. I'm yapping now, but all this to say he picked Il Gatto E La Volpe for dinner so I knew this food was gonna SMACK. We started with margherita pizzas for the table, arrancini, calamari, and a couple bottles of red wine picked by Uncle Dan. My Mom got the gnocchi bolognese, which I knew I would get 80% of as she eats like a mouse, so I went with the Florentine steak. I hate to be corny and say "everything was sensational," but everything was sensational so Imma leave it at that. My favorites were the gnocchi bolognese and arrancini though, as I had never seen gnocchi bolognese on a menu. It honestly should be a more common dish. I'm making a prediction that by 2029, gnocchi bolognese will be a standard item on all Italian menus. Service was great, vibes were up, and this was just a great place to enjoy some much needed family time over some red wine. These haters got me stressed. SHOUTOUT TO UNCLE DAN! The standout items for me really were the Margherita pizza (not pictured) and Burrata -- wow is the bread chewy and delicious! But really, everything I had was tasty, including the pastas and risottos. Portion sizes are quite generous too. On top of everything, our server was outstanding. She went above and beyond to make our group and event feel special. She thoughtfully brought us sharing plates, swapped our dirty plates for new ones, promptly refilled our water glasses, brought us additional utensils and napkins -- all unprompted! I rarely talk about service, but I was so impressed with her. Wish I knew her name so I can give her a better shout out! Ambiance was inviting and bright. The restaurant is spacious and well-lit. All in all, excellent food and service. Definitely recommend.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside and is definitely a little dated but the food and service was excellent. We were treated like family from the moment we walked in and it felt like we were visiting our Italian grandmothers house. The bruschetta was excellent and the meatballs were seasoned well (although the gravy was a tad on the spicy side). The calamari was probably the only dish that was just ok. It's grilled and while that's not a big deal, it picked up a slight burnt flavor that several in the group felt was a little off putting. All of the main courses were solid including the salmon that I ordered. I also got the caprese salad and it was visually impressive and seasoned really well. One of my colleagues was impressed with the vegetables and how perfectly they were cooked (and asked that I include that in my comments ). The dessert options looked fantastic but we opted to pass... probably a miss! Would definitely go back again so don't let the outside fool you!
