I was in the area of Markham station so I decided to drop by yesterday. I was hesitant because of my last visit and the not so great service (look at previous review) But I must say, they have redeemed themselves. The male server serving us was a true professional. He came and asked us numerous times if everything was ok which it was. He was always hovering around in case we needed anything which we didn't and most importantly ;) coffee was always refilled This is the optimal service you expect when dining out On to the food We tried the chicken souvlaki for the first time and it was delicious. The chopped steak was also amazing. I will not be hesitant to drop in next time and am going to put Markham Station back in my regular rotation of places to dine out. read more

Nostalgia at its best! I frequented their original location at Sheppard and Markham Rd and it's become very run down and grimy and sticky so I really appreciate this new amazing location uptown where there isn't too much traffic and a good amount of parking spaces. The food is average for the diner just like the original location. The service however, I'd like to point out that our server was amazing. Very mindful of asking about refilling my coffee. Checking in at the right times. Not rushing. Giving recommendations or just simply answering our questions. Making sure we had everything we needed. Absolutely loved the service. Thank you guys for a great revival of this classic diner and renewing wonderful memories of this place! read more

A 24 hours restaurant in the neighbourhood, it is not a budget diner, but seems to be high end. The interior is nice, the service is ok. So far we just tried their breakfast, French toast with sausage and berries( berries are not very fresh) so deducted one point. Will go back to try their dinner and update the review. read more

I've heard of curious george, but not ridiculous george! You'll find him here at Markham Station Richmond Hill... I ordered wings and had asked for more flats rather than drumsticks. He told me that it's premixed, so he won't be able to accommodate which I understand. When my wings arrived, they were ALL drumsticks, I was shocked! But, even more shocked when he said "yeah, the kitchen told me that they ran out of flats completely". So why didn't you check in with me and why did you think it was ok to serve it like that and leave? I of course returned the order and decided that I wanted to go elsewhere to grab dinner and to my surprise again, he said he would have to charge me $3 and said that I can't just expect to come in to sit and drink water for free. Came back bc of our amazing time a few months ago. Left a great review. Except, this time I brought a different group of friends. With little kids. This review is not food related at all, it's about the other 60%. Customer service. Legit wait of 1 hour to be seated. 1. Hour. Gave the option to split our party, saw dozens of other ppl get seated before us. We were 12 people. Approached the front staff and tried to be as patient as possible. Young women, seemingly trying their best. But little logic, solution based approach or even any real service. 12, can be split 6+6, 8+4.....whatever. Went from brunch to lunch. Now, we wait for food. I sure hope this visit gets better.... (1 star given) Okok, I've cooled off. Now, fed and the server was really good. My coffee got a refill, and I even got a timely iced water. I changed my mind in giving a trash rating, and have upped my initial 'raging 1 star' to a compromise of 3. I will come again. But...with some hesitation. read more

This is a new open restaurant . My friend said it was open about couple months ago. Inside feel like "new". The sign said "24hours", and my friend had tried their all day breakfast, that's a big portion. Since we know they are providing big portion, we didn't order too much. WE CHOSE A GOOD BREAKFAST PLACE! It located at the Longo's plaza on Yonge/ Bernard, where the old Rexall used to be. It was a spacious place with TV at all angles. For the 3 of us, we ordered the Super Breakfast- 3 pancakes, 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 3 sausages, and home fries, as well as the Station Benny- egg benedict with peameal bacon served with home fries. The home fries' taste reminded us of hashbrown at that well-known fast food place (Mac something) - fried to crispy, not oily. One thing on the pancake (nothing bad), IT'S A MASSIVE PILLOW! It was soft and fluffy, and bigger than most breakfast joints I have been to. The egg benedict was cooked medium with the yolk still very runny. They were generous on the hollandaise sauce to ensure the whole muffin was covered. Everything was great and it wasn't greasy or salty at all. One thing that docked a star from the review... This was in December 2021 a few days before Christmas, when delta was going around. We were in the area and it was very late, so not many choices. We ordered take out, and as we were waiting for food, we was the kitchen staff had NO MASK on, and someone who either just came in to work or something walked into the back also with no mask on. There was one poor girl working in the kitchen wearing 2 masks. I wish I had reported them. I will not go back based on that alone, but also the food was really awful. The only thing good were the potatoes. 1. Pork chop and eggs - pork chop was extremely over cooked and super dry. Eggs were ok - if you screw that up something is seriously wrong. Potatoes were good. 2. Potato skins - they feel like either they have been frozen forever or rebaked 3x. Super super dry and shriveled up. Nothing like their picture on the website. I had some time to check out Markham Station's newest location at Yonge and Elgin Mills in Richmond Hill. I've been to the original location (Markham & Sheppard) hundreds of times. I was really hungry so I went with the Super Breakfast! Super Breakfast contains : 3 pancakes, 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 3 sausages and home fries. The food arrived very quick and was hot and fresh. The pancakes were absolutely massive and thick. The bacon was thick cut and had a nice crisp to it. The sausages were tender inside with a nice snap to the casing. I ordered my eggs over medium and they were cooked spot on. The home fries were also delicious. They were crispy on the outside and very fluffy on the inside. Everything was great and it wasn't greasy or salty at all. It was an excellent meal! If you not super hungry they have an amazing special from 6-11am. It's 3 eggs, toast, choice of bacon, ham or sausage plus home fries for only $6.99! I will definitely be back! read more

The little bit of steak you get is way over cooked to the point it's so tuff you can not even bight them in half. They try to justify the price by filling your plate with fried onion. A ridiculous amount that drowns out the tiny bit of steak and peppers, which there is barely any. All of this is swimming in a pond of oil and there is absolutely no flavour to any of it. You do not receive enough cheese to put on all 4 tortillas. The cheese is also old and dry. I will not recommend this place. I wasted my money on a disappointing dinner. read more

A lot of my regular brekky places were closed over the holidays so I stumbled into Markham station. Place is quite large, but at that time it was also rather understaffed. I ordered my usual bacon and eggs, but this time instead of normal hashbrowns there was the option of lemon roasted Greek potatoes. Now bacon and eggs are pretty much the same anywhere you get them, the Greek potatoes were a real departure. Normally I leave hashbrowns behind but I hoovered down all of these lemony gems. You can get hashbrowns anywhere--if you come here, get the Greek potatoes. Another interesting note: this place is open at 24/7. Not many places around that still do that. read more

I had no power and no cell phone reception so I went to Markham Station for lunch. It was the day that Rogers had that huge blackout. The restaurant is clean and you're greeted by a host immediately. Food was terrific, great prices and large portions. Best part was the service. My debit card wouldn't work and I had no cash on me. I offered my server George my phone to hang on to while I drive home and get cash, he said "it's a $1,000 dollar phone for a $20 tab don't worry, I'm here till 9 o'clock" you don't see genuine acts of kindness like that too often these days. He did a great job of looking after me, did a two minute two bite check after my meal had arrived and stayed on top of whatever I may have needed to make my visit a great one. Been coming here since it opened a while back. I've only been here around breakfast time so i've only tried the breakfast foods. If you can get there before 11am the early train special is great. A large amount of food for $9 and quality doesn't disappoint. The restaurant itself is huge so i've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. Service is usually good, nothing over the top but no complaints. Would recommend for anyone looking for breakfast/brunch in the Richmond Hill area! read more

Manager is defensive and rude, waited over 30 minutes to not even get our whole order. We waited ample time for our food to arrive, and didn't even receive our entire order. Had the manager walk by many times without batting an eye. Servers walking around laughing and joking with him, some wearing airpods. We asked the manager for the bill and he responded "don't you have a waiter/where's your waiter?" and walked away. Our initial server came back and expressed her apologies, and that she had her evening was very hard (internal issues in the restaurant), and became emotional to which she excused herself. She later returned and apologized again, expressing her issues with the manager. When speaking with the manager, he was very defensive, standoffish, and rude. We were told they were severely understaffed, and this is why they take reservations. To put it into perspective, including us, there were 3 tables in the restaurant max. 3 people at each, and perhaps 7-10 staff on the floor. He also then told us because he had other issues in the restaurant, it isn't up to him to see all the issues, we needed to be the ones to flag him down. The manager on Nov. 5/22 at ~10:30pm needs training as he will be the reason that this restaurant will go under, absolutely no leadership. read more

The service was good, it was fast and the servers were friendly. The food is meh for a diner. I ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich. The roast beef and fries were ok but the veggies were not. The carrots were undercooked and the broccoli and cauliflower was over cooked to the point of being very mushy. We came at around 4:00 pm so there were not a lot of people. I have been to this location quite a few times. Staff is pleasant food is good. Been to the one in Scarborough very unsanitary and disgusting i will not go back the!! I saw the lady clean the table with the used napkin from the previous customer that was sitting at that table. She also left the mat for the next customer to use.I told her what she did was disgusting that was when she removed the mat. I just couldn't belive what I saw. Management should speak to staff about cleanliness because obviously that staff on June 28,2022 did not know anything about hygiene!! read more

Took my mom there yesterday, as we like to support local businesses. This restaurant, however, was terrible. Had fish and chips and the fish was completely flat, with no flavour at all. For the price, I expected much more. The menu is large, but perhaps they are trying to have to much on the menu? Maybe try doing a few things well. Will not be back. Worst experience in a restaurant EVER!! First, I will mention that COVID rules were not followed but, aside from that, everything else was horrible!!! Whatever you do, if you go to this restaurant DO NOT order fish!!! Four of a group of 8 ordered the trout and it arrived like a piece of leather. I've never seen fish that overcooked. First, the manager (owner???) was called over and we showed him how bad the fish was. He didn't apologize but he did offer to make us each a new piece of fish. All of us had our fish taken back and had a new piece made. The rest of our dinner was either eaten or cold by the time it arrived. The new piece was as bad as the first.... like rubber and no flavour. We found out that none of their fish is fresh....but frozen. The worst part is how it was handled. I can't believe it! We were told that all of us who ordered the fish would have it taken off our bill and we could order dessert and coffee too. There was a new young waiter serving us, but when we were told we could also have dessert and coffee, a more senior waitress was at our table telling us this information and taking our orders. All of us were offered free dessert, even those who didn't get the bad fish dinner. I was impressed how well they were working to make it up to us. Honestly, I didn't really want dessert but I order fruit, since I was one person who ordered fish and was really appalled at how it arrive, not once but TWICE!!! My dinner experience was already ruined at that point. So, everybody at the table ordered dessert since it was offered and we were also promised that we wouldn't have to pay for the fish. Then the bill came and we were told, since we all got the dessert, we had to pay for the fish!! OMG!!!! What?!?!? So we all objected and then the manager brought out the young waiter and said he'd have to pay for this extra food on our bills because it was his mistake....The poor young guy. I think he said it was just his third shift since he started the job. And it wasn't even his fault!!! I was appalled at how the manager humiliated him in front of all the people at our table. Just horrible!!! So, in the end, the people who didn't order the fish got a decent meal and free dessert while those of us who got the bad fish had the fish meal taken off but we had to pay for our dessert. It gets worse, the couples at the table had to pay for both desserts even if one didn't have a fish dinner. So, my husband paid for his meal and dessert, while the single people at the table who didn't get fish got their dessert for free!!! WTF?!!! I will NEVER go back to this place and I will make sure that I share this experience! Disgusting!!! read more
