I can't believe I haven't written a Yelp review for my favorite yoga/Pilates studio yet! I…read morecurrently live in SF, but I still make the commute to Millbrae just to take classes here...that should really say something. I joined back in 2022 when I lived in San Bruno, and there was even a time when I was unemployed that I would come twice a day. This studio offers a huge variety of classes, and the instructors are truly the best - so passionate, knowledgeable, and motivating. I've also gotten to know the owner, Leila, and I have the utmost respect for her for creating such a welcoming, community-centered space. She's always open to feedback and is constantly looking for ways to elevate the experience and make sure members are really getting their money's worth. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to be challenged, build strength, and find a supportive community. With so many different class styles, there's truly something for everyone!

Everything went well until they charge me again 4 months later. I texted the owner about it, no replied. I called them back to back. It took them awhile to answer my call. I was told they will refund my money back to my credit card. I've been waiting for couple days to see the return. Still no refund or pending refund. I had to call my credit card to dispute the charge. There was a comment from a past customer saying if you get on the owner bad side she will terminated your account. She was right. All my remaining 35 + passes that I haven't use yet are no longer on my account. I have to take a loss. I feel like it a waste of time reaching out about it. What's the point when she will remove my passes again. I can't say enough good things about Samara's cardio and Pilates classes. I haven't even tried…read moreanother instructor because her energy alone is what keeps me coming back every time. The classes are tough as hell, in the best way, but even as a beginner who's pretty out of shape, I've always felt comfortable. She offers great modifications and creates an environment that feels supportive, not intimidating. I'm guaranteed to sweat every single class, and I always leave feeling so much better than when I walked in. The studio itself is just as great, always clean, organized, and fully stocked with everything you need, from mats and weights to bands and cleaning supplies. There is zero musty smell, which honestly says a lot for a workout space. It's clear they really care about the experience from start to finish. Honestly, I don't see myself going anywhere else.

After taking 7-8 classes at J8 Hot Pilates & Hot Yoga, I feel confident sharing my experience. The studio offers a variety of classes, though I've personally only taken Pilates and yoga so far. What stands out most is Sam's incredible energy and sense of humor--she brings such a positive and uplifting vibe to every class. Her music playlists are also thoughtfully curated and always set the right mood. What I love most is the sense of community Sam has cultivated. It's clear she's spent years building a strong foundation. Many of her clients have followed her from previous studios, which speaks volumes about her reputation and the impact she has on people. Everyone I've spoken with at the studio has had nothing but amazing things to say about her. Without a doubt, this is the best Pilates studio in the Bay Area. Wow, I absolutely love this place. I've never taken a Zumba class before but once I started coming…read morehere, I got hooked. Yenis is enthusiastic and energetic, you can really tell that she cares about Zumba and loves to dance. I've been to about 10 classes so far (she offers a 10 class card for $50 plus one class free). What I like so much about the classes is that she brings in new music and dance moves but also plays some of the same songs during each session so you're able to get the hang of the dance moves. The studio is very new and clean! Nice floors and lots of mirrors! The free water and tea is a nice touch too.

I took classes here this past summer. I've done Zumba before, but I had never gone to a place that…read morepretty much did Zumba exclusively. Like many reviewers state, Yenis is an awesome instructor. I love her routines. For the most part, every month, there is a different routine. Therefore, you have a sense of what to expect and work on. Once the month ends, you move on to a new routine and series of songs. Within the routines she does some muscle work, which is also nice. The 6pm(ish) courses are really packed. If you don't like crowds, I say go to the 7pm(ish) courses. They're nowhere near as crowded. Yenis definitely has a following, which is nice. She's super friendly and has great energy. However, I'd like to mention one of the other instructors. Over the summer, I REALLY loved going to Mimi's classes. She has a ton of energy and I also loved her routines. She would incorporate some kickboxing/punching moves, along with some good muscle work (burpees, push-ups). However, she would do this in a fun, manageable way. It always made me sad that more people didn't take her classes. I always looked forward to them:) Both Yenis and Mimi incorporate great music and teach using the mic, which makes following along a lot easier. My only complaint was that there wasn't a short-term contract available when I signed up. I was only around for two months, but I either had to pay for a three-month membership or pay $12 per class.

I highly recommend Tammy to anyone looking for a personal trainer who genuinely cares and is fully invested in your success.

I've taken some time to process what happened before writing this, but I feel it's important to…read moreshare so others -- especially those with disabilities -- know what to expect. I'm a wheelchair user and had been a member at Primetime for a couple of years. The equipment suited my needs well enough. However, the elevator began malfunctioning with increasing frequency -- breaking down multiple times a month -- to the point where I was once stuck inside it. On other occasions, I made the trip to the gym only to be turned away because it was out of service. Since all the equipment I rely on is on the second floor, a broken elevator effectively meant no access for me. The real issue wasn't the maintenance failures -- it was how management handled them. After several days of trying to reach the club manager, I finally got him on the phone. I made a simple, reasonable request: could they notify me when the elevator was down so I wouldn't make an unnecessary trip? Without any hesitation, he told me this was a "liability" for them, cancelled my membership effective immediately, and hung up. No acknowledgment, no apology, no discussion. I understand that equipment breaks down. What I don't understand is treating a paying member's accessibility concern as something to be discarded rather than addressed. I'll let you draw your own conclusions -- I just wanted to make sure this experience was on the record.
