Now they've added masking tape to the problem.

I joined a few months ago. The staff is excellent, always friendly and helpful. The clientele, very friendly and welcoming. Good equipment, great classes. But...there is a HUGE health and safety issue that is not being addressed. I took photos, and even spoke with other members -- the bathroom wall is crushed in and wallpaper over it that shows a massive gap of feet, not inches. Not only is moisture and bacteria settling in, but spraying it with bleach is not the solution. Is there black mold? Will we all be facing respiratory issues in the future? For this reason, I am sorry I joined...the facility is not maintained in the bathrooms, and there is no way to contact corporate to handle this. It appears the manager cares less about safety and our health than getting more memberships.

Fallen wallpaper reveals mold.

This gym has been under new management for several months, and I think it's time for an update. New management, new rules? There has definitely been a shift with the new guy, and it reveals itself in how well the gym has been maintained. Since the departure of the previous manager, the women's restroom has been neglected. The entryway to the restroom is falling apart, and in recent days, the wallpaper fell off, revealing mold on the underside. There has been a quick fix that still leaves the mold unaddressed. (This is an owner/upper management issue.) Now, onto the restroom itself. The stalls have lacked basic necessities; the counters used to get wiped frequently, too. Do they have someone to clean the ladies' room? Yes, and it's a one-MAN-cleaning-crew; the problem with this "crew" is that HE has walked in multiple times unannounced, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. Today was no different. Have I brought this concern to Jake, the current manager's attention? Absolutely, and I was met with his lack of customer service skills and lack of empathy. While at his desk, he paused, made little to no eye contact, and displayed his disinterest; his sole focus seemed to be the visible spreadsheet he had been working on. I have also reached out to the district manager via email to no avail. I was also given a phone number to reach someone at the corporate office, but no one returned my call. So here I am revising my review in hopes of getting someone to give this iron sanctuary the attention it deserves.

Sorta broken and conflicted while writing this review as I've been a loyal member since 2021. At the time, what this gym was offering regarding equipment, tidiness, and location relative to where I live, the price was unbeatable. I was amazed I could get so much value for how much I was paying. Staff and the gym goers were always really helpful and informative as I was getting into gymming. The manager or supervisor from what I could assume at the time always kept the place in check and I swore I never saw it dirty. Fast forward to now and those standards have seemingly decreased and surprisingly enough, I am paying more than what I was back in 2021. I've seen various staff come and go and the management from before I no longer see so I assume there's been a huge change behind the scenes. However, the gyms standards have seemingly gone down. Equipment that breaks down is often left for long periods of time before they are fixed and the cleanliness is questionable now. The men's bathroom is often found pretty dirty and not kept up with missing bathroom supplies. At a time, the bathroom walls were seen falling apart and lockers even growing some bacteria. I can't blame ventilation or hvac since the place is pretty small but the mold on the walls that has been left unkept for maybe months or even longer is a serious concern. Definitely poses as a safety hazard taking into consideration the number of people that go every day. Also insulting to see staff cleaning machines with a duster or towel when's there's a clearly visible and bigger issue on the walls. This place has a soft spot in me because it got me active again, however it's difficult to justify staying knowing I'm paying more for decreased standards. Seems priorities aren't in all the right places at the moment.

Jesus is the bomb!

There is never any air in here. It's always hot and doors are always shut tight. The whole floor in the rest rooms smells like urine.

I accepted can't do it alone lol. TFT is why I'll never go back to a traditional gym. Each workout session fits within 1 hour, the sessions are designed in such a way where you are never waiting for an equipment, and whereas at a traditional gym it would take you twice as long to achieve the same results. The bonus is discovering there are so many muscles you didn't know how to train otherwise. I've tried both custom and group sessions and both are great. Custom gives you that one on one experience with one of the trainers where you can really hone in on your goals (fitness/strength). Group gives you the community. I like to alternate between the two depending on the season I'm in.

I recently rejoined the gym membership world because I wanted to incorporate more weight/strength…read moretraining into my current fitness routine (which includes running, dancing, aerial classes, and pilates & barre). I chose PF and opted for the Black card membership for these reasons: -Gym will not be my main form of fitness, but as a supplement, so I don't need a fancy gym with amenities I will never use, which is costly. -The Black card membership gives me flexibility to work out while I travel or visit my folks. So far, I've been to 2 different PF locations, including this one in San Bruno. I went during the Thanksgiving holiday, so it was not that busy. Even though this is likely to be the least busy this location will be in the late afternoon, it was still pretty tough to get access to the strength training exercises and machines without waiting a little bit. Very limited number of benches, cable machines, and 3 Smith machines. I would not want to come here during peak post-work hours unless all I wanted to do was use a treadmill. Also, I noticed a lot of maintenance was being neglected: broken lockers, half the toilets in the ladies' room were out of order, empty paper towel dispensers, and empty disinfectant spray bottles. One of the stairmaster machines was broken. Compared to my experience at the San Jose location I went to, which was maintained and clean and honestly impressive for a PF gym, I wouldn't care to come back to this location again. I know PF is a budget gym, but I'm not asking for much! It was a slow day, just please refill the paper towels and spray bottles at least?

Ever walk into a gym and just do whatever you feel like, thinking it would be enough in exercising? Well that was me! Working out with zero results because I never really pushed myself other than working out a little longer. I would use different machines for like 15-20 mins and stop if I felt it was enough or if I was just tired. My co-worker told me that I should try OrangeTheory because it would be the best fit for me. And I can say, she was so right! After doing a trial at the location in So. SF, I knew this was the beginning of my transformation! Here are my reasons why I absolutely love it: - Community of people just like me wanting to be healthy - Excellent coaches who are there to guide you on correcting your form of exercise, giving advice & overall support even if you have restrictions they will modify it for you - Routine that works on both cardio & strength (I have gained muscles!) - No one judges you on your appearance or age - Music puts you in the mood (maybe too much as I find myself wanting to dance) - Heart monitoring so you can actually see your results during and after your exercise - Challenges throughout the month to keep your routines exciting yet pushing your limits You can say that I am an OTFSSF addict! From the start, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. My first class was with Head Coach Raquel, who was super friendly and helpful. She took time after my intro class to go over my stats and patiently answer all my questions, which made a great first impression. I originally started with an 8-class/month membership, but upgraded to unlimited when I signed up for the Transformation Challenge in January. While challenges sometimes require an extra registration fee, I highly recommend them -- they're a great way to stay motivated and committed to your goals. The studio staff is also wonderful. They're always helpful, whether it's handling late arrivals, class cancellations, or loaner OTBeat Burn monitors. I really appreciate how accommodating they are. One thing I've noticed is how strong the community is -- a lot of members seem to know each other and have built friendships here. While I haven't made friends with other members yet, the fact that coaches (Raquel, Victoria) and staff (Lawvan, Ivan, Aidan) remember my face makes me feel welcome and seen. If I had to note a couple of areas for improvement, the treadmills feel a bit dated -- the built-in fans blow a bit of dust even after cleaning -- and the InBody scanner used for the Transformation Challenge is more of a consumer-level version, unlike the professional-grade ones I've seen at other studios. Hopefully those are things the studio can upgrade over time. That said, this place is still my favorite part of my fitness routine. The friendly atmosphere, supportive coaches, and helpful staff keep me coming back. I'm so glad I found this studio!

It honestly feels like management doesn't care about cleanliness or the experience of their members. The front desk staff (the girl working Tuesday around 10 PM and the guy who said he was her boss) were extremely unwelcoming and rude. They spoke in a very aggressive and threatening manner and were clearly misrepresenting the information in the contract. Instead of helping or explaining things professionally, they tried to intimidate and confuse the situation. This kind of behavior from staff is completely unacceptable. The management is also very misleading. Their main goal is to sell you a membership at any cost, and once you sign up, they make it extremely difficult to cancel.
