He definitely knows what he's doing and he is very knowledgeable and patient. It is definitely hard, but it has been nice to start new and feel the soreness. My mind was completely somewhere else at the time and when I arrived, I realized I had forgotten my gym shoes and showed up in Crocs (as you can see in the pics)... I know, super cringe right?‍. Luckily the girl at the front desk was super cool about it, made me feel welcomed, told me to put them on sports mode and to just do the workout! Im glad I decided to stay because class was awesome. I love how it's non stop and you get both cardio and strength exercises in the same session. You usually do 60 seconds on an air bike, a 10 second transition break and then 60 seconds of some sort of strength exercise on the floor depending what area of the body is being targeted that day. They have a variety of dumbbells, barbells, TRX Suspension System, kettle bells, BOSU Ball, Ply Box or just your own body weight suitable for that days strength workout. Oh, I say usually 60 seconds because sometimes they'll switch it up and do 90 seconds instead. Regardless, all classes are about 35 minutes long not including a post 10 minute stretch/core exercise. All in all, you're in and out of there in less than hour. Luckily, I came right before the Summer Summit Challenge started, so I was able to join that. It's 6 weeks of unlimited classes for $170 which is such a great deal! Along the way, you'll get a prize or two as well. At class 18, I received a sweat gym towel and on my 28th class (I'm 2 away), they are giving away a Basecamp Owala water bottle. The only thing I wish I could've done differently is signed up sooner. The whole staff is super friendly, parking is a breeze, the cleanliness of the facility and equipment is excellent and it's conveniently located right off the freeway too. They also have showers on site in case you need to freshen up before going out somewhere after class. If you're on the fence whether to join or to at least try out a class, take it from me and just go... trust me, I hate exploring new places, especially on my own

Not only is it a great deep muscle workout, but the moves that we are coached to do don't feel awkward or like you're prone to injury (which can often happen in Pilates classes). I have taken multiple classes with Jillian and she is absolutely amazing. I've also done one class with Jacki and she was so great too! What I love is that they take core foundations from weightlifting and know that that is how muscle is built but they bake in those concepts into the exercises here. What I also really love about the coaches is that I am currently pregnant so they have been super supportive in finding pregnancy friendly alternatives/being OK with me making adjustments myself as well. Lagree is an awesome deep muscle support/supplement and with the slow intentional movements, it's a mind-muscle exercise that's great for both for health and aesthetics (after weigh lifting). The studio is really nice as well, located in downtown Millbrae. Plenty of one hour parking around the area that is easy to find. (I've taken morning classes throughout the week). All the machines are in one row, and there are mirrors along both front and back sides of the studio. They use the megaformer pros, and the springs are very easy/intuitive to adjust. Also, there are bathrooms/changing room in the back along with a water filter! Highly recommend to anyone who is local or in the proximity! I was impressed with the reformer machines and everything was always so clean. What sold me was the 60 class deal. It was much more affordable than what I was paying at the other studio. I love having the flexibility to sign up for classes when I have time. I was even able to bring my hubby with me to class (text to arrange an extra booking) Bookings done on the MINDBODY app. I believe new classes get posted every 2 weeks. If a class is full, join the waitlist! There's a high chance you'll eventually get in! My favorite instructor is Kimi- she's clear with instructions, gently corrects our posture when we're a little off and challenges us. She also offers modifications depending on our comfort level.
