Janie's got a gun!…read more Okay...she really doesn't but there's just something about her that is intimidating enough that you want to push yourself and not disappoint her but she's also hilarious and puts you at ease. I've done her boot camps twice now and am already looking to set up a 3rd. I have never experienced such an ass-kicking that left me wanting more! Both camps were very different and I've heard they'll always be varied. During the 1st one we slung sledgehammers onto industrial sized tires, flipped oblong punching bags down the side of a building while incorporating squats, jumped rope and much more. This past session we threw 12 lb medicine balls at the wall, drug a weighted tire around outside, threw sand bags over our shoulders, did group sit ups while hooking elbows and other "fun" things. I joke about "fun" but it REALLY is!! The 1st time I went I was sore for 4 days, it felt like someone kicked me down the sides of my rib cage and visiting the restroom seemed like a geriatric event...but it truly hurt so good. I love Jane, her facilities and her techniques. I'm looking forward to making it a part of my regular routine once I get over being sick. Look out for a free boot camp or create your own to try it out. You'll be sore but you'll enjoy the process!

She is always coming up with unique, fun ways to build muscle, core strength, and improve balance. I feel stronger and fitter since I started training with her. On top of that, she's always been flexible working with my changing schedule and she comes to my house--how nice is that--or meets me at a nearby park to mix things up. She brings all the equipment so I don't need to have my own gear. My only warning: she's a bit of a gear geek! Her latest toy, the "wheel of death" will identify muscles you didn't know you had! And there are sandbags, kettlebells, resistance bands, TRX, medicine balls, kick boxing, boxing and so much more...

She is not a "drill instructor" type, more of a fitness motivator and mentor. She has a full gym in her home, and training is one-on-one. I was a person who had really never worked out much before, and I was so intimidated by the equipment, and worried that I would not be able to keep up with the workout routine. Jeannine guided me through the process, always challenging me but not making me feel that she was asking me to do anything that I wasn't capable of. I was amazed at how quickly I felt myself gaining strength and feeling more fit. I always left Jeannine's feeling thoroughly spent but energized, and amazed at how much I had done in one hour. I would recommend Jeannine to anyone who wants to gain strength, get in shape, and who might be intimidated and confused by working out on their own in a gym.

I decided to try out Alison's core class on a whim as a 3ish-days-a-week climber at Planet Granite,…read moreand after a few months, I have found myself religiously going to her class-- and even occasionally going to the gym for the sole purpose of attending her class. for the past 15ish years I have been in shape, whether it be running, climbing, or field sports, but taking Alison's class has been an enlightening experience for improving my core. The exercises she teaches vary within and between each class, and there is rarely a muscle left behind in a given day or week-- including relevant core based cardio. Taking this class has legitimately improved my life inside and outside of sports. Not only is her class a great 1 hour way to burn off the steam of the weekly grind, but I can feel my core improving my posture, and alleviating stress that I laid on other muscles and joints in my body. I also have had problems sleeping on my back for as long as I can remember, but after strengthening my core and focusing on flattening my back (which is part of many of the proper form of the exercises), my lower back feels amazing. Alison's personality is also always uplifting, and she does a really good job of motivating you by making you laugh, while also being a harsh critic of poor form that keeps you focused and injury free. Lastly, my abs and core look better than they ever have!
