How do you guys run out of paper towels for 2 days straight? Luckily I always bring my own Lysol wipes with me but that was gross and very unhygienic. You guys need to just switch to antibacterial wipes to avoid all this headache. 1) Save some trees and use antibacterial wipes. Antibacterial wipes are made of polyester so less or no tress are harmed in making of these wipes and I am sure you guys go through countless rolls of paper towels each day. 2) Your spray bottles sucks and are always broken. Antibacterial wipes are already soaked in cleaning solution so you don't even need to use your janky spray bottles anymore. 3) Less mess and trash. Since the antibacterial wipes are already soaked in cleaning solution, you just need 1 wipe to wipe down multiple machines after each use. Compare that to ripping up 2 paper towels and spraying it with solution to clean 1 machine is a no brainer. The mens bathroom are still dirty and smells like piss constantly but I think some men are just dirty in general and no amount of cleaning is going to change this. The treadmill machines are way too close that they're practically touching one another. You guys need to think about separating the treadmill machines and giving more space in between them. I don't need to feel the sweat dripping off the person next to me. read more

Cancelled my membership after two days. First day I went to Pacifica, place is ok but need more ventilation and men's restroom/ locker room and shower room are very dirty and smell. Second day, I tried the Burlingame facility and the same. Men's locker and shower room really need a major cleaning. Your manager/ staff need to go and train from Planet Fitness Daly City location. This Gym has been open for years but it's so clean and great ventilation. Men's locker/ shower room are so clean that they have a person/ Maitenance that are actually station inside that keep cleaning the area through the day. I've been coming to this gym for about a year now. It's pretty dirty. Mirrors needs replacement, bathroom needs a thorough cleaning and it's molded and smells, ceilings needs to be changed or something, it's molded. Equipment needs upgrades as well. Air circulation is pretty bad there too. I think this gym just really needs a whole new renovation/upgrade and better cleaning and caring afterwards. Please do something about this gym. I've been a 24 hour fitness member since the early 2010s, this is probably the worst one I've been to. Also, why are most gyms still not back to being 24 hour operations? The front desk Jeremy is the man. Me and my partner has been searching for a gym in a long time and he offered the best deals after our free trial. He also recommended some classes to take like UJam at 7 every Friday night and I never regretted it. From my experience the gym culture is beautiful and everyone is respectful. The manager Tiffani Gushue-Johnson needs to get fired! One of the most inexperienced, incompetent people I have ever encountered. She is also a pathological liar and never returns calls or responds to any emails. I have been trying for almost one month to have my complaint escalated. Tiffani promised to have my issue raised to upper management. When I did not hear back from anyone, I would have to follow up with her and her responses were always rude comments about my concerns not being a priority and saying she will call me back with an update. Very bizarre behavior from someone who should possess management skills to handle customers. 24 hour fitness simply does not care anymore. I am a long time member of 24 hour fitness, andI've finally decided to write. While the gym has basic equipment, it is so dirty, I don't recommend anyone come here. The women's bathroom ALWAYS has toilet paper and seat covers all over the floor. There's a constant leak/wet floors around the toilets, and the toilets are dirty and full of hair - obviously not really scrubbed for days. All the trash cans are overflowing, and the walls have some sort of of mold growing on them. The parking lot is always full of trash. Who on staff cares about this place? I expressed my concern to someone, whom I later learned was the manager. She was full of excuses, and I've never seen her walking the floor or cleaning anything up. She just looks the other way, and obviously has very low standards. The second star is just for the variety of equipment, although many of the cardio machines are often out of service. read more

After talking to my barber, he mentioned to me that this location had got some new/updated equipment so I decided to give it a try. Being that this isn't a super sport, comparing it to the Millbrae location wouldn't be fair. A closer comp would be the van ness location and pretty easy to say that this location is way better and cleaner. While it's not the biggest gym it has all the things you'll need. Plenty of squat racks, a couple cable machines, and a free weight area. It's a little tight by the free weights, so if it's busy, it'll be a squeeze. Other than that, I think with the mix of newer machines and upgraded cardio, it's above average for a non-super sport location. Bonus for having a huge log for parking and being right next door to a delicious taqueria Being that it's equal distance from home compared to the Millbrae location for me, this is not a bad option when I want to grab a post workout burrito or hot pot near by. The post workout food options are better in this area than compared to Millbrae. read more

Pre-Covid this gym was much better. I've been back at this location for several weeks now and very disappointed. The staff is very friendly and the gym goers are nice. They have a good assortment of weights, equipment, and machines. However, the gym is now run down. Not sure if the management has changed? -there is mold on the walls and ceilings of the weight room... all over. -there is rat or mouse droppings by the exercise balls and kettle bells by the front window. -numerous mirrors are broken and held together with tape. -more minor compared to above, but the equipment is dirty and dusty. I haven't seen a cleaner there yet. If there is a cleaner I'm not sure what they are doing. The mold and rat/mouse droppings are a serious health issue. I'm surprised this place hasn't shut down from some sort of health agency. They need to have a company come and get safely dispose of the mold and sanitize all the walls. read more

Kimani is amazing! I started training with him eight months after my ACL surgery. At that time, I had very little stability in my surgery leg, and I didn't trust it.  Over the past few months, I have gained muscle, balance, and agility. His program also addressed core strength issues that were causing excruciating lower back pain. As a bonus, my back pain has resolved. Truly, wow!  Kimani stands out from other trainers because he understands the injury and recovery process and incorporates the emotional and mental aspects involved in it. He continues to evolve a program to help me get back on the water, back out on the trails, and doing the things I love.  I am excited about my progress and having fun with it, too!  Thank you, Kimani! read more

Another update. One star for trainers that actually work hard and understand what gyms are supposed to be. Lack of 4 for a manager that clearly doesn't understand a damn thing about training, equipment, or what constitutes "clean*. New manager, same old bullshit. Equipment broken for months at a time (there's a stepmill here that has been broken for a *year*), a LEGION of recumbent bikes (the highest and best use of which is a fucking bonfire), they *removed* cleaning stations (because who doesn't want to train in someone else's funk?), and turned down a hack squat from recently closed Daly City gym (because who trains legs anyway?). If you train here, I'm sorry. If you're thinking about it...go *anywhere* else. I train here because it's my only local option...but when I can, I train at Walnut Creek (which appears to be managed by someone who isn't a fucking clownshoe). Have another option? Take it. Don't believe me? Come experience the shitshow for yourself...but don't say I didn't warn you. Want to write a complaint? Cool. Write 3 notes for management: leave one for them, crumple one up and throw it away and light the other one on fire, and see which one they get to first. We like to work out at this gym for different reasons like parking, and proximity to our home. Unfortunately, the kids that work at the front desk at night are just pathetic. They are at the front desk doing nothing and they never acknowledge the customers that walk in the gym. A "hello" would be nice, especially since customers pay their salary. Just a poor job by management when hiring and training their staff. It's unfortunate. Some equipment are still nice, but there are some machines that need to be upgraded. Overcrowded, Rude, Opens Late The gym has added too many members. Given that half the treadmills are broken on any given day, it's hard to get on after 6:30 on a weekday. Same with the 2 leg presses and 2 bench presses. They let people bring boom boxes so the workout area is a cacophonous competition to see which jerk is comfortable playing their personal music loudest. Finally, they can't consistently open on time. It's not unusual to come at 7:30 on a Saturday and find the lights off and a lot of should-have-known-better people like me waiting outside. If you're going to make your brand about availability, be available - seems simple. Try a local gym or a different 24hr. The buddy pass is a great feature if you want to bring a child or spouse with you sometimes. read more

I like the two girls who work weekday opening hours. They are very nice and helpful. Its nice to have friendly faces up front.

Overcrowded after 24hr fitness in Daly City closed. Opening the gym at 8am on weekends is too late , and inconvenient . Pretty frustrating having to wait for machines to become available , classes have been full, and would appreciate it if management would have broken machines fixed in a timely manner. This is a great gym! It's usually not that busy compared to Ocean Ave 24 in the city and is considerably clean!

I have been going to this gym since it opened. I have never trained with a personal trainer, but about a year ago, I saw this gentleman in the gym doing different types of workouts. I would watch him work out and then I finally I asked him what he was doing, what it worked, etc. He very politely would show me and tell me. In November 24 hour fitness offered a trainer special so I purchased the package. I had never done that before because I thought I knew how to work out. After years and years of working out, it does damage to your body. With this package, I started training with the gentleman (Kimani) I saw at the gym. I learned that you don't need to do heavyweight to build muscle and get a good workout. He trained me how to do different exercises that are low impact. I continue to do those on my own Since a trainer is out of my budget. I've noticed I have more lean muscle. Kimani got me to purchase the package through watching his technique and not being a pushy sales person like all the others at 24hr. 24 hour fitness does not maintain their equipment and machines. Both weight and cardio have been broken for months. Because they are so limited on their number of machines you can't always get on a cardio machine . Rates stay the same yet they shorten their hours and no longer offer functioning equipment. I can honestly say the only thing good that has come out of this gym is what I have learned from Kimani. A gym should make their mission about health and wellness. Unfortunately, this gym is focused on the dollar and losing sight of their real purpose. Gyms need more people like Kimani that see the value in working out. That is how you make money. read more

The club manager here is super unpleasant to deal/speak with i had lost something here asks me what happened i explain the whole story and he goes "What you just told me was pointless" when he could of cut me off and stopped me. Can tell buddys peak was in college. Anywho asides that there is a pretty often used workout machine that has been broken for 3 months still broken and there are only 2 like it in the whole gym, so when its busy its hard to use. And all the equipment/benches especially the hamstring curl machine smell horrendous! Always toilet paper with poop stains on the ground by the toilet. read more

This 24 hour location is okay except for the group of 4 guys in their 20s who sit on both of the only 2 benches / 3 squat racks for an hour at a time with their pre workout spilled on the floor, not lifting, but taking videos of themselves & each other with tripods. The staff should tell them to lift or leave. I get taking a rest between sets to be able to push yourself, but the extent to which they "rest" is absurd. read more

Trash. Don't use central air. Just leave the doors open to ocean air that destroys the equipment. They have several machines down and have been non-operational for months. When you ask management they just give you excuses about parts or limited technicians. The place is not well maintained. You can tell by all the mold and spider webs all over the place. Employees just chill in the office or reception desk. They don't walk the area and clean up nor enforce good gym practices. The bathrooms are horrible. They are wet and moldy. Usually when I get up in the morning and go to the gym, I am happy that I got my butt out of the bed and made it to the gym. When I get to 24 Hour Fitness in Pacifica, that excitement quickly goes away. Let's talk about the issues: - There are about 12 treadmills in this location. At any given time, about half of them do not work and have out of order signs on them. I have reached out to 24 hour fitness and a few were replaced only to be out of order again. - Do you clocks ever work? You have this big 1980's digital clock that hangs. It is shaped like a triangle and has the time on each of the three sides of the triangle. The time on this thing is never right and to make matters worse, the three sides of the clock all have different times. - How long does it take to repair a weight machine? Your stackable weight bench press has been out of commission for about 2 months. I understand getting a repair guy might be a challenge to get but, you should have repaired or replaced this thing by now. - I know this gym has been making some changes. The kids club area is not the personal training room. Great! But, it is pretty unclear what is accessible to the public and what is only for personal training. I am hopeful the renovations will continue and this issue with be resolved. Hey, this is a busy gym. I get it. I am not giving you one star for a couple of reasons. First, your staff is typically friendly and welcoming. Second reason - compared to Daly City, this is the best gym on earth. Third, I like the conditioning area. Other than that - this gym needs a slap upside the head. But 12 new treadmills damn it. I seen reviews from a year ago and maybe 2 years ago complaining about the same thing. This is pathetic. Seriously, either take out the retro looking digital clock and replace with something that is idiot proof and does not need to be changed. Changing the time is obviously a challenge for your staff. Lastly, if a machine is broken - FIX IT. If parts are not available because the equipment is outdated, REPLACE IT! Your delays horrible and making this great gym a horrible gym.
