I met with Chris for a consultation and he explained to me how his program worked. I told Chris what my goals were and he listened. I signed up for both group classes and semi private training sessions. I attended an average of 3-5 classes per week when my schedule permitted it. The group classes do fill up quickly so you'd have to really plan ahead and sign up for it with their online scheduling. I lost a total of 5lbs within 6 months of Chris' Program and built back my endurance. I feel stronger and more energized because of his workouts. I weigh less than I did pre pregnancy! Thank you Chris, Matt, and noelle for all your guidance! I would definitely recommend this gym to reach your goals!

I was impressed with the reformer machines and everything was always so clean. What sold me was the 60 class deal. It was much more affordable than what I was paying at the other studio. I love having the flexibility to sign up for classes when I have time. I was even able to bring my hubby with me to class (text to arrange an extra booking) Bookings done on the MINDBODY app. I believe new classes get posted every 2 weeks. If a class is full, join the waitlist! There's a high chance you'll eventually get in! My favorite instructor is Kimi- she's clear with instructions, gently corrects our posture when we're a little off and challenges us. She also offers modifications depending on our comfort level. If you like extra spicy classes, definitely book Kylie's classes!! Vennu is more than just another pilates studio- they host fun events and the community is really welcoming. I joined back in 2022 when I lived in San Bruno, and there was even a time when I was unemployed that I would come twice a day. This studio offers a huge variety of classes, and the instructors are truly the best - so passionate, knowledgeable, and motivating. I've also gotten to know the owner, Leila, and I have the utmost respect for her for creating such a welcoming, community-centered space. She's always open to feedback and is constantly looking for ways to elevate the experience and make sure members are really getting their money's worth. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to be challenged, build strength, and find a supportive community. With so many different class styles, there's truly something for everyone!

If this is you as well, Rise might be the jumpstart you need to get back into an active lifestyle! With that being said, I was super happy to find out that Rise SSF is the only Pilates studio in South San Francisco and is a collective as well! I've taken classes with Joanel, Ely, and Justin. They're all very instructive and supportive, I definitely feel the burn the following day from their classes. The studio itself is very clean and has music at a moderate volume- the focus is on your form and timing. I think Pilates is best done as a supplementary exercise and can be best paired with another activity like cardio or lifting weights, but it definitely has benefits where it tests muscles that you don't normally work out.

So far I've taken classes with Joanel and Jackie - they are both great instructors who make the time go fast while making those muscles burn! Music is not too loud so it's easy to hear the instructors. The studio is clean and has a sleek aesthetic. Remember to bring grippy socks! If you forget, they have them available for purchase at the front desk. There are also small (non-locked) cubbies in the lobby area. Parking is street parking (metered during business hours).

Not only is it a great deep muscle workout, but the moves that we are coached to do don't feel awkward or like you're prone to injury (which can often happen in Pilates classes). I have taken multiple classes with Jillian and she is absolutely amazing. I've also done one class with Jacki and she was so great too! What I love is that they take core foundations from weightlifting and know that that is how muscle is built but they bake in those concepts into the exercises here. What I also really love about the coaches is that I am currently pregnant so they have been super supportive in finding pregnancy friendly alternatives/being OK with me making adjustments myself as well. Lagree is an awesome deep muscle support/supplement and with the slow intentional movements, it's a mind-muscle exercise that's great for both for health and aesthetics (after weigh lifting). The studio is really nice as well, located in downtown Millbrae. Plenty of one hour parking around the area that is easy to find. (I've taken morning classes throughout the week). All the machines are in one row, and there are mirrors along both front and back sides of the studio. They use the megaformer pros, and the springs are very easy/intuitive to adjust. Also, there are bathrooms/changing room in the back along with a water filter! Highly recommend to anyone who is local or in the proximity! I know they have passes directly their website, but I use ClassPass to attend and it's been wonderful.

Purifying Pilates is an excellent place to work out if you've had an injury, or want to exercise…read morejust a little to get visible results. During a session, I barely work up a sweat, but I know I've worked plenty when I feel a just-right amount of muscle soreness the next day. Due to a back injury, this is important so that I don't create more problems from over-doing the workout. If I have a sore spot when I arrive, the workout is modified to accommodate the issue. Purifying Pilates has been a fundamental component in healing, strengthening and maintaining my back. During my workouts, we target all of my muscle groups, not just the core. As a result, I have occasionally surprised my husband with my arm strength, and I've got better posture than him. Rene and Martine attend supplemental Pilates workshops, which shows their commitment to keeping up-to-date on the latest techniques. They bring that knowledge back to the studio, which helps to change things up a little during the sessions, and keeps it interesting. I look forward to my time here; it's private and relaxing. The studio has it's own restroom, a space to prepare and enjoy a cup of tea, and it's convenient with cheap downtown parking directly behind the studio. Rene and Martine are very friendly, and make me feel comfortable exercising there. They also sell things like yoga socks, toe-stretchers (feels really good!), exercise balls, thera-bands, microwave hot pads (Smart Spine, I think it's called), etc. to use at home. There's a small selection of nutrition bars and drinks for sale, too. Thanks to Pilates, I'm pain-free and active, two years and counting!

The community, the instructors, the professionalism, and especially the structure of the classes have all made such a huge difference for me. I regularly take the 8 PM Inferno classes with Aiko and Melanie and the 7:30 Pilates Sculpt with Sam, and I absolutely love them. The class is challenging (as it should be!), but the instructors and the community really push you, encourage you, and somehow get you through those moments when you're questioning why you signed up for this . I was honestly pretty nervous to start coming here, but I'm SO glad I did. I can genuinely say I look forward to coming to class with my friends. The studio itself is always clean, the owner is kind, and incredibly welcoming, and the playlists are always . You can really tell that there's so much thought and care put into the experience. I did want to mention the music because personally, I haven't been loving it in some of the recent classes. I think music makes a big difference in how motivated I feel while working out. I'm more into throwbacks and R&B and personally would love a little less EDM. But that's just my preference! Saturday class was actually really good... I really liked the music and it made the workout way more enjoyable for me. I also tried adding some songs to the Spotify playlist but it wouldn't let me. It would be cool if members could request songs or maybe vote on what kind of music they want before class. I also think themed classes would be so fun! Like a 49ers Day, Pajama Day, different music themes, or even a Breast Cancer Awareness class next month. Little things like that could make the classes even more fun and bring everyone together. Just wanted to share a little feedback on the music and some ideas that I think could make the classes even better. I will always be back 8:30 am Saturdays!
