Best pilates studio ever!! I had classpass for a while and tried many studios around SF and x-core is definitely a top tier studio with all around great instructors who are sweet, attentive, and make class fun and inviting. I always feel amazing after class and also enjoy the cute themes they have for us. The studio gets super booked but it's def worth it. I have yet to attend all the instructors, however Ina was my first instructor and she did an amazing job at easing me into my first class at xcore. The front desk staff are all so helpful and accommodating too!

X'Core is a brand new reformer pilates studio to the Lakeside neighborhood. I'm so happy to see a studio open up in this area. There's street parking right in front or there's tons of parking along Junipero Serra Blvd. I love that I don't have to commute too far and parking is super convenient here. Since the studio is pretty new, all of the machines and floor are still really clean. There are 10 reformers in the studio with mirrors on all sides for you to check your form. Although, there are no lockers, you can put your belongings in a small bin in front of your reformer. The studio is nice and bright. I'm obsessed with all of the natural lighting coming from the skylight! It was my first time taking a lagree class in a while and Katyes was so welcoming. She was so great at checking in on everyone's form and encouraging the class. Her instructions were easy to follow along and the music wasn't too loud. I'm excited to incorporate this workout into my routine!

Xcore, what can I say?? It was love at first shake! My first group pilates experience and a life changing one at that! I have done other group fitness classes but this community has been my favorite thus far! Instructors are helpful and personable, the studio is clean, and the megaformers are sleek and work well! If you're thinking about trying a class, take the class!

It's about time I review X-Core. I've been going here since they opened in the spring. Prior to their opening, I used to do pilates workouts in the Marina, Pac Heights, or Mission Bay. While I liked those studios, they were inconvenient to get to and find parking at. X-Core to the rescue! It's a convenient drive from where I live, there's always plenty of parking, and the machines and facilities are new and modern. The instructors are great, and I haven't ever had a bad one. The workouts get really intense! Even with the basics class, you feel the burn pretty early into a class session, and it leaves you feeling the results days after. This studio is fantastic, and while I'd like to gatekeep it because I don't want it to get too popular and overbooked, I won't because it really is fantastic and you should check it out whether you're new to pilates or have taken over 100 classes.

Love love love XCore. I have so many wonderful things to say. The studio opened almost a year ago and I have been going since they opened. The staff is lovely, I've taken classes with almost everyone and they are the sweetest people, all amazing. If you get lucky to take a class with Nicole, she is my favorite!! The studio is always clean which I love. Machines are clean, they are always vacuuming and cleaning in between classes as well. Highly highly recommend & I cannot wait to keep going!

I tried the xBurn class and oh my boy did I work up a sweat. I love how big the reformers are and that the lightening in here was great. The instructor was very nice. The high intensity work out made me feel good. The studio and bathroom was very clean. Provides a water dispenser and nice mirrors around with encouraging words. The parking is street parking by meters and I really liked coming here. Would definitely recommend anyone doing Pilates!

I've checked the schedule several times and there never seem to be class spaces available? How difficult is it to book a spot? Thank you.

Pilates was suggested from my rheumatologist and my physical therapist. Started with some entry level group classes and found i loved them but also knew I need more 1 on 1 to ensure I was doing everything correctly for my EDS issues. Met Ramlah and now work with her 2-3 days per week when I am in the city. Only disappointing thing about this particular facility is they don't have a lot of formation classes, which are the ones you take in the beginning. Fortunately, I'm in a place where I am able to pay for privates, but I don't know if this is the place to come and learn in a group environment as they have so few classes. I found a couple of studios in my area that do offer them and will continue with privates but take some groups elsewhere that offer entry level classes the focus on form. ]

Love this place!…read more It's hard and intense but you definitely get an amazing workout. It's a low impact pilates class with slow movements on a reformer megaformer machine. Here's a small tidbit from their site on what lagree is: The Lagree method blends Pilates, cardio and strength training. Our classes are performed using the patented M3S Megaformer machines that target the slow twitch muscle fibers by engaging in controlled movements, which in turn activate your metabolism, burn fat and calories. I love lagree. I'm always super sore after but it's such an amazing workout. Bring grip socks cause you'll def need it! I've taken a class from several instructors and every single one was great. Parking isn't too bad, there's a lot across the street and a parking lot close by.

So I wanted to wait to take a lot more classes before leaving a review for here. I've been to so many Pilates and Lagree studios and the many of them have resulted in random injuries of my friends, etc. But I've always had a really great experience here. The studio is easy to find thirst street parking around or technically there is a parking lot for a grocery store next-door ahem (not saying people park there). The studio is very clean and cute . And instructors are really kind and helpful. Definitely plan to come here more often! I would definitely have a membership here if I live closer !

A few of the really good instructors left. Second they randomly started changing the classes. A few weeks ago I signed up for a reformer class that mysteriously got changed to a "power" class (much harder, maybe better for me but definitely not what I signed up for). This was the third or fourth time classes had been shifted without notifying the participants. The instructor said she just found out as well. Why? No idea. Also frustrating is that despite the fact I have come here for years there has never been any kind of thank you for your loyalty, hey it's your birthday here's a free class, here's a discount, nothing. It was a small studio that has now become a chain, so the vibe has shifted for sure. I wish them the best and thank them for all of the great classes I've had in the past but it's time to move on.

My only wish was that I had found this studio earlier when I lived just a block or two away, I would have been here all the time. I took Jen's class -- she's the owner -- and it's nice to find someone who is so nice, passionate and involved in her business. The space is small but has 5-6 reformers, some other equipment and one bathroom. Note that there's no separate changing area other than the one bathroom so if you're going to cut it close to the class, it may be best to change at home. The reformer class was excellent and was focus and controlled and I got a good workout in. Jen took the time to explain everything and made sure we were doing the moves correctly. Even though I didn't really sweat in the class, I did feel a little sore in my abs the next day and still got a god workout in. Would highly recommend this place if you like pilates classes like Body Chemistry in the Mission or Mercury Fitness in the Marina. These are the kinds of pilates studios I love to find and frequent. I don't really love the BodyRok or Core40 classes as much since they go too fast, seem very repetitive in the movements/exercises, and don't focus on form. These kind of classes are more of the opposite. 5 stars. Looking forward to taking another class here next time I'm back in San Francisco.

My spouse had MS and wanted to focus on balance concerns, whereas I had just turned 50 and had the upperbody strength of a newborn kitten. It's a really nonjudgmental environment with clients of different shapes and ages. I was hesitant at first to do pilates because I hadn't worked out in a decade, so performing a plank was impossible. Raisa and Rachel seemed to intuitively recognize our skills and motivated us with realistic movements. This was our first experience scheduling private sessions of any kind, but it has proven to be ideal for us because Raisa and Rachel personalize each session to whatever discomfort or pain we are experiencing that week. We are also the only ones in the studio during our session, making it genuinely private. If you have a stiff shoulder in the middle of a session, they have the depth and breadth of understanding to identify the muscle in question and immediately shift you to an optimum exercise. Hubs and I were both in physical therapy for different reasons, and Raisa and Rachel had no trouble adapting and changing movements as needed. I had no idea how much core strength I had gained until I started crossfit a year after starting PIlates and was able to execute (and excel) at every core exercise with my CF trainer.
