I just purchased a beautiful white on white California Corona Stratocaster from Westcoast guitars. Glen showed me a complete range of guitars from custom to manufactured. Literally every guitar I tried was impeccably set up and highly playable. He thoroughly explained a number of options so I could select what was best for me. I choose this Stratocaster because it was amazingly playable and the price was surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the guitar. read more

So I've NEVER gotten anything done to a guitar before. Im a bit of a noob. So I was totally unsure about how to go about getting what I needed. My beautiful semi hollow vantage was a bit aged. The dials didnt work very well. Screws were rusty. Overall my baby just needed a good trip to the guitar doc for a checkup. After reading the reviews on westcoast it was a no brainer for me. They have an amazing track record FOR A REASON! Not only were they suuuuper sweet and made me feel comfortable even though I had no idea what I needed. But when it came to the work they discovered not as much needed to be done so they took care of my baby for such a great price! She looks good. She sounds good. She feels good. I will definitely be back for my other babies and when I'm ready to add to the collection. Thank you so much guys!!! read more

Westcoast Guitars - Vantage semi hollow guitar alll spruced up! - Guitar Stores Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I've lived in Vancouver for 5 years, but had never made it out to this particular guitar store until last weekend. I was in the market for a new guitar, and had heard westcoast carries brands that are hard to find elsewhere. I wasn't disappointed! After a few visits, I ended up settling on a Suhr, and at a reasonable price too. However, a store wouldn't get 5 stars just for stocking cool guitars. Glen and Shannon were a delight and made me feel comfortable enough to spend some time thoroughly evaluating the guitar I eventually chose. Thanks for keeping me entertained, and for the coffee! read more

This is the store if you are curious about all those guitars and amps you only see on social media. I was totally delighted by my experience there. Both Glen and Shannon were friendly, knowledgeable and very welcoming. I was a little intimidated to enter the store as they have a pretty impressive client list and even though they only carry the best of the best, their prices are still excellent. They don't carry any junk, but if you want to make a long-term, quality purchase they can provide the service and knowledge to do so. read more

I've heard the name and it sounds like they're a popular guitar store but when I go to their website I don't see anything that shows any inventory. I can see the links to all the brands but nothing for "in stock" or "inventory" or anything like that. Maybe they're just a special order shop, direct from the various manufacturers? Reading the reviews it looks like they carry guitars so they must be hidden somewhere on their website. read more

I went in because I needed a box to ship my friend's guitar. it's nothing fancy but they weren't judgy, and ended up packing the guitar for me so all I had to do was bring it across the street to the post office. many thanks! read more

Westcoast Guitars - Guitar Stores Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Guitar store or coffee bar? There were quite a few people hanging out drinking coffee and playing the guitars when we stopped by. Very nice collection of guitars, knowledgeable and patient staff. I was looking for a present for my niece and I think it's better to take her here and let her pick out her choice. read more

Love going into Westcoast Guitars to chat with Glen & Shannon; they've been present on the Vancouver music scene for decades. It's always been great going in to get their musical advice. They carry a great variety and quality of gear too. Glad they're in Vancity! read more

My first time to this store and I found a great selection of some really cool guitars (acoustic and electric.), something for everyone - just starting out through accomplished players. Glenn and Shannon are knowledgeable and the vibe is relaxed and friendly. I would recommend anyone that is looking for a guitar to shop around but I bet you wind up back at Westcoast Guitars. Save some time and head there first! read more

As a guitarist beginning to find his chops I was ready to graduate from my dirt-cheap (but loved) Washburn House of Blues guitar to something that could keep up with me. My budget was at a place where the retail mark-up at the "big boxes" left me buying junk OR breaking budget to get something of quality. When I found Westcoast Guitars I was nervous about the smaller store front but wanted to give local, personal shops a chance. Early on Glen and Shannon pointed out a couple used Ibanez (trade-ins). I chose the cheaper of the two and had it at home only 1 day before wishing I has listened to Glen's recommendation of the higher end one. Despite having spent most of an hour setting up the Tremolo system and putting new strings on the guitar I bought --- Glen gladly allowed me to return it and pay the upgrade price. He even wiggled $50 on the price and I felt I got close to a Craigslist price but with the comfort of a store and owner that cared about the outcome. In his words "I want something that works for you" ... I believe it after experiencing their flexibility, service and fair price. This is NOT like a pawn shop, it's small because they keep unique guitars not a dozen each of the standards knocked out by Fender and Gibson. Their prices are negotiable and fair. (Though you can find entry level, it isn't to the exclusion of all else.) Bottom line, worth a shot if you like your shopkeeper to know you, treat you right and if you are into unique, good guitars. Next time I pick-up strings I'll probably grab a bag of the Marley coffee they sell in shop. It smelled good. (Who said coffee and guitars don't mix? :P) read more

Great selection of beautiful guitars and the owners are the nicest people. Great customer service and lots of knowledge here

I'm a beginner and I wasn't quite sure what I should get. Shannon and Glen were very hospitable. Glen was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the construction of a guitar and if the one I chose fit me. They even asked if I would like a beverage and to drop by when I was in the neighbourhood to show them what I've learned. read more

Great Experience ....long distance purchases can be awkward . I had a Suhr shipped to Toronto and everything went smooth as silk. Thanks Al read more

I am visiting this store regularly and the owners Glen and Shannon a very very hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable about their products. It feels more like visiting friends who you drink coffee and hang out with and I appreciate independent businesses with a personal touch. They will also order you pretty much anything you want if it is not in store, like a box of 12 string guitar strings, which are impossible to find in all the other music stores around Vancouver. They also happen to be the only designated dealer for Melatron in B.C., which otherwise would be difficult to get hold off. The coffee is great too. And the other day, when I didn't have internet, Shannon was so kind and let me look up of stuff on her I-Pad when I needed it. read more

Very decent selection of guitars. Staff were very helpful. What store in Vancouver can yo buy a guitar and coffee at the same time? Coffee was decent. Prices were very decent. I come here to get my strings as I like to support the mom and pop shops more than the large box store (you know the one) down on Granville. read more

Excellent knowledgable service. Gave extra care and attention beyond expectations. My new go to spot for all things guitar related.

This is a great guitar shop with a passion for what they do. I had an Acoustic Gibson J-45 Custom Vine to sell. It did not take long to realize Glen is an expert when it comes to evaluating guitars. Refreshingly, he is not the least bit arrogant. I found him to be straight forward and honest. It is uplifting to deal with kindred spirits in the music world. They just "get it" and it doesn't take long! After this experience, I would not hesitate to buy or sell a guitar with Westcoast Guitars. They are pleasant, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. read more

WCG is a solid little shop. Glen knows his sounds, and he runs the store just for the joy of running it. They have a unique collection of amps, sounds, and instruments, which testify to the tastes and character of the place. Both Shannon and Glean are easy-going and good to talk to; always interested in new sounds and players. It makes for a chill spot to share ideas, have a coffee, and play with toys! read more

I came to try out some amps and left with an amp, a new steel-string acoustic guitar and a feeling of joy. Shannon, Glen and their clientele are relaxed, very friendly and knowledgeable people. In this shop it's not just about money and stuff changing hands but also about having a nice chat (and excellent coffee!) and meeting other artists. Also, everything I got my hands on was of excellent quality. Even the lower budget guitars I've tried were fun to play and had a good sound. All thumbs up, will visit again! This is my go-to shop now for all things music. Thanks, folks! :-) read more

This guitar store is a tiny miracle. If you love guitars and you haven't been here, you owe yourself one. I'm not talking about common garden variety instruments - I mean one-off works of art as well as road worthy workhorses. In my long experience of haunting guitar stores, it doesn't get better than this. read more

Was coming into Vancouver from out of town and had mucked my input jack the night before. These guys fixed me up just perfectly, for a great price and in like half an hour! Really saved my ass from looking like a chump and having to borrow gear at the show, very much appreciated. Could not have been happier with the service. Definitely worth taking your business to this small independent shop. read more

These wonderful honest folks intercepted my stolen guitar and returned it to me. Trust is a rare thing in business. They could have profitted to the tune of several thousand dollars and chose instead to do the right thing. read more

I met Glen and Shannon, and my new guitar teacher Lawrie, when I went in to have Glen look at a guitar from another store I was having trouble with. He gave me his time, close, caring attention, and good advice, and treated me like an old friend, even though I was a stranger there then. I have not been a stranger since, and instead of buying that expensive guitar, which turned out to have a twisted neck, I bought a Suhr at Westcoast for a lot less money than the guitar which the other store should never have sold. It was so clear that Glen did not care about selling me anything, but just wanted me to be happy with the guitar - as opposed to my experience everywhere else. I plan to buy another guitar, and will not go anywhere but Westcoast. Every instrument, amp and accessory there is carefully chosen, and I know that whatever I buy there will be of the best quality and at the best price. I also know that I will be treated well and welcomed to come back to visit. I have been back many times. I go to Westcoast for lessons, to buy and talk instruments and music, but I also go there to be with good, friendly people and great players. Feels good to know I have only one shop to check when I am looking for good music equipment. read more
